Hi! I am a type two diabetic and after reading all of the posts here, I decided to give this plan a try. I am currently seeing a nutritionist but she wanted me to do the Diabetics Diet using the food pyramid. I find this very difficult to follow and after being on it for two weeks, I have gained weight. The Nutritionist is against the low carb diets because she feels they are a temporary fix and not a lifestyle change. I do not agree with her on that. Anyway, against her advice I decided to buy the SB book today since it looks like it is a safe diet for diabetics.
Any other Diabetics on this plan and have you been able to control your blood sugar levels?
MOM, I've copied your post and put it on our SB WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD so others can see your post and reply to it as that's where we tend to congregate. Obviously, your Dr. doesn't know much about SB - it's no low carb at all. And yes, the SB diet is okay for diabetics unless your Dr. find a reason it wouldn't be.
Please join us on the weekly boards If you need any guidance, just e-mail me [email protected]
Hi Moms2- I am not diabetic, but a good friend of mine is. Her doctor suggested SB WOE. She has been on it for about a month now and is having good results, at least with weight loss. She's lost about 7 lbs. This is my first day and I hope I have good results also. Good luck to you!
