Question Acceptable Foods

Hello, I am new to SugarBusters! and the board here.

I have a question about acceptable foods. I've got he book, but is there a current list of foods that may add or subtract from this?

For example, I notice that alligator is allowed, but since I don't have that readily available (hardy har har) I ate some buffalo today. Now, does anyone know if buffalo is acceptable? It was lean and clean.

Thanks for having these forums.

Hello and welcome:

Buffalo would be fine as it is leaner than all cuts of beef and even chicken. I would highly recommend getting the sugarbusters shopping guide. It is a small notebook that you can carry anywhere with you and have available to look up what foods are good and which are forbidden. It made a big difference for me. I think I got mine from Amazon or Half.com; can't remember. We hope to see you over on the support board.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Which artificial sweetner should I be using? Sweet-Low, Equal, or Splenda? Thanks for the help--I'm still learning and just feel like I'm making all kinds of mistakes. In the shopping guide it says sweetners that contain aspartame--what is the deal with no dextrose? It seems like everything has dextrose in it. Ladyporsche

I thought this was the support board....

Bob, buffalo tastes like super charged beef. Its excellent and very lean. I steam my burgers in my Tupperware microwave steamer.

I lost 6 pounds in the last few weeks.

ORIGAMI,

You are on the support board, just that we all tend to congregate on the weekly support board. When you post make sure you hit POST REPLY or use the QUICK REPLY BOX at the bottom of any page. You'll get replies as you have here, but more if you post on the WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD.

CONGRATS on losing 6 pounds already-that's wonderful! I like buffalo too, and ostrich - won't touch gator!!!

Smile NEWBIE

Hello All!!!!
I am a new sb'er and have a few questions....
My favorite "treat" is diet Root Beer... but it has Aspertame in it... what is the deal with Aspertame?? Is it legal and just not preferred or is it a NO NO???

Also, I am in Dallas Tx... does anyone have any suggestions on where to shop besides Whole Foods for sgww breads and the such???

My biggest question is this... Can you have too much fruit in a day?? I like to have fruit for bk (1/2 grapefruit & a peach, or an all fruit fresh smoothie) and then I eat fruit for "snacks"..... Am I doing the wrong thing??? Also, I read somewhere... I think in the sb book, newest ed that to lose weight you should only have two slices of bread in a day.... Is that the same for ww pasta etc....
I need some suggestions for meals.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all in advance for you responses!!!!
Ange

ok guys... I have read over and over "how to post messages..." but as you can see...... I am still LOST..... Meant to post this on the main board.... can anyone help?????

Angehaley - We usually post on the thread titled SUGAR BUSTERS WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD dated for the current week. When you are in that thread and want to post a reply make sure you hit POST REPLY and not New Thread. This is where everyone hangs out and you are more likely to get replies to any questions you may have.

I think it is fine to have fruit two or three times a day although there are some fruits that we shouldn't be having, like ripe bananas and pineapple. Regarding your bread question, it is recommended that we have only 2-3 starchy carbs a day to lose weight. This would include bread, pasta, rice and any goodies made with ww flour.

We start a new board every Monday morning and I will transfer your message over to the new board soon as it is up and running. Hope to see you there.

Marie.
