Default Need Help with SB

I teach Family and Consumers Sciences (Home Ec) and in my Nutritional Science class I am having my students research different diets. I have a copy of the Sugar Busters diet, but it is not specific as to nutrients supplied by the diet every day. We (I) found some information that said their was a 14 day diet in the 1998 edition of the book. I have the 1995 edition. Would anyone be willing to send me the fourteen day diet, or at least a few days of it so my student can do a nutritional checklist?
Thanks
Janie

Default Hi Janie

I'm reading the latest Sugar Busters right now. This book has no 14 day diet sample just the foods to eat and to avoid. I'm not an expert as I haven't really started this WOE yet...although my current intake is pretty similar. I guess a day on this plan would look like this:

bkft fruit (prior to meal and no ripe bananas, watermelon or raisons) then maybe 2 eggs or an cheese omlette (they encourage low saturated fat choices of dairy and meat) or have 2 whloe grain toast natural peanut butter or a whole grain cereal (ie oatmeal or shredded wheat an bran)

Lunch sandwich with whole grain bread or WWpita and salmon or tuna or chicken etc. and lettuce, veggies etc or entre type salad (no potatoes, corn, sugary dressing, fried or battered meats)

Supper lean meat, poultry, fish with 2 servings of veggies (not corn, potatoes or too many carrots) beans, whole grain pasta

Snacks handful of nuts, berries, whole wheat crackers and natural peanut butter, veggies, cheese, hard boiled eggs etc.

Basically, stay away from added sugar and refined foods/drinks

Hope this helps you
Jen

JBURRESS, you can e-mail me with your e-mail address and I can copy and e-mail you what's in the old book. Unfortunately though, the menu they have is for maintenance, though this it doesn't say.
