Default Vegie dishes kids like

Hi. I am fairly new to sb. My ten year old daughter and I started Jan 8th, next morning she dislocated her knee cap...but we stayed with it. As of Feb 13th, she has lost 10 lbs and I have lost 20lbs. I have snuck her into an adult gym illegally. There must be some advantages to having a ten year old who looks 15!

Anyway, I am looking for recipes that kids really like. I need vegie recipes or main dish recipes that have lots of vegies in them. Also wondering, any Canadians out there? Thanks.

Hi SUGLESS!

Glad to see your post and CONGRATS to not only you, but your DD! You've done really great so far!

My DS is vegetarian and one of everyone's fav. dishes that I make (trust me, there's not many of them) is my CRUSTLESS SPINACH QUICHE. It's on the recipe board, but if you have trouble finding it, e-mail me and I'll get a copy right out to you. There's lots of vegetarian dishes on the boards and many books out there that would fit the bill as well.

We do have 3 Canadians on our boards. Please join us on the SB WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD so they as well as the rest of us can give you a big SB WELCOME Just use the QUICK REPLY box at the bottom of the page OR hit the POST REPLY button to post (just don't use the new thread button, unless you want to make a new thread

My e-mail is [email protected]

Continued success!

Debbie

Thanks Debelli. DId I mention she doesn't like eggs?? I'll tell you, it is one kind of a challenge finding dishes for myself that I like with enough variety to keep the boredom away....but it is an entirely different matter to do it for a child who doesn't like eggs, doesn't like sandwiches...etc etc. I try a new recipe every week and will keep doing so...just thought I could cheat and ask about recipes that tend to be well liked by kids. Thanks. for taking the time to reply. Most appreciated.

Does she like pizza? You can make a whole wheat crust, or if you don't like baking bread, you can use a whole wheat pita. Most kids like pizza! You can go heavy on the veggie toppings. My daughter likes macaroni and cheese, and I get the whole wheat elbows and make homemade mac and cheese once in a while. You can make it into a casserole, or one dish meal by adding veggies to it, and even a can of tuna. My kids liked it with pimentos, tuna and mushrooms in it. You might want to see if your library has SugarBusters for kids. It has a lot of good ideas in it. Some I did not think my kids would have touched when they were younger, but there are some ideas! Its hard to watch what you eat at that age. Please congratulate her from me for doing so well!
