my smoothies are very basic: frozen strawberries, skim milk, splenda, and cinnamon. i like to use frozen strawberries rather than fresh strawberries and ice because the texture comes out much smoother. and i like to buy fresh strawberries and cut them up and freeze them rather than buy already frozen strawberries, because those taste weird to me.

Morning,
It is 5 am and I have already been awake for 2 hours. I had to take my sister and her finance to the air port for their vacation. Well the flight to their vacation--They aren't actually vacationing at the airport. Ha I found that quite amusing. I am beyond over tired, yet up for the day. May caffeine help me along today!!

I made my first smoothie last night. I used a cup of fat free pain yogurt, cup of frozen raspberries, 1/2 milk, tsp coco powder, and 1/4 c fiber one to add fiber. (it was my dinner) and I blended it all up with a few ice cubes. I sweetened it with some splenda. It tasted like an ice cream shake it was beyond yummy. I may be on a smoothie kick..

Ok well I hope everyone has a great day..I'll check back in later on today.

UGH..My lunch was really gross. I got the SBD frozen dinner that is Chicken Caprese..it was sooo nasty. The meat was all grisly and had a bad taste. But I didn't have any money to buy anything else and was hungry so I ate it..ewww. That aside, I hope everyone has a good SBering day! Lol.

i tried out my HRM today and it told me that apparently Turbo Jam is a good workout for me, because my heart rate stayed in the right zone the whole time.

Happy Friday all!

Today is weigh-in day for me. I am down another 2lbs! WOW! I am thrilled as I have never watched the scale head down!

Solly- has your snow begin, yet? I am outside of Nashville and they are predicting 2-4 inches! I suppose everyone will be heading to the store for bread and milk....that's what they do here in middle TN when it is supposed to snow......apparently there was an ice storm, once and bread and milk were hot commodities!

Toni- is the snow alrady there?

Chrl-your eating plan is so inspiring- even with the op oreos and soup. You really inspire me!

Heart- I am learning, too, that the food i make at home is ever so much more tasty than anything in a box or can or even at an eating establishment! I am getting over those McDonalds cravings! woo-hoo!

Gym- hope you are having a fantastic Friday! I long for your energy!

Kelly- those smoothies of Chrl's and Tech's are truly "addictive." and boy are they YUMMY!

Monet- it was nice to hear from you..... keep getting plenty of R and R.

Bob???? any movie tips for us this week? We'll need 'em if we're "snowed in."

Sparkle- did you get that bike seat ready for riding?

Have a wonderful day, everybody!

Michele

Hola everybody,

Well our primaries were exciting. Texas does a double vote and yours truly had to actually run a precinct caucus, did the best I could and for my effort got to sit in the almost VIP section for Obama's rally tuesday night in San Antonio. I was so excited, screaming and all that I actually woke up without a voice wed morning. Took 2 days off to recouperate completely from it all...lol. Have been eating lots of soup and drinking lots of hot liquids. I actually feel human today. OK I know we're wimps down here in Texas. But it was super windy and colder and rainy yesterday I barely stuck my nose out the door.

I have a question about treadmill fear...lol. OK...I am scared of going any faster than 3 mph on the darn thing. In fact I wont keep going at 3mph for very long, usually can handle a constant 2.8 or so. But I watched some fitness shows and biggest loser and I see where folks are challenged to sprint for a minute or so on the thing at speeds up to 12-14mph and then they jump off on the side bars of the thing. Good grief!!!!! So please, folks am I just a big ol chicken or what? For you treadmill afficionados...how did you build up confidence and speed. I cant even do the easiest of the built in programs <sigh>.

Morning ladies!!

Rosie-- Hang in there with the treadmill. I had trouble doing programs at first also. Now after a month I can do them. Start out with manuel and adjust the speed yourself (Varying them and the incline) until you get comfortable with walking at higher speeds. I watch biggest loser also I know what you mean. It takes time to build your stamina up.

Howdy all I don't have long just wanted to stop by. Have a great OP day everyone.

Rosie, make sure you are not holding on to the handles the whole time. You can hang onto them at first when you first get going, but then you should be able to have your arms at your sides, in a natural position. I think hanging onto the handles impedes your progress. The more you use it the better you will get at it, and it won't be so scary. I occasionally do sprints on mine and will admit that it makes me nervous....probably because if I trip or something I will go crashing into the wall that is just behind my treadmill!

hello everybody! Yep, got the "big girl friendly" bicycle seat on yesterday, so of course it turned cold, then today - snow! That's right, here in Louisiana.
It didn't stick but it was beautiful to watch as it was falling. It's pretty cold now though and will continue to be cold tonight and tomorrow. Sunday temps should climb back up into the upper 60's so I'll be on my bike then.

The eye appt visit was an "eye-opener" to say the least. He wants me back on the 27th to see a specialist. He saw a retinal tear which of course could lead to a detached retina if left untreated and worse, blindness. Treatment consists of repairing with a laser. Said it's not too uncommon in folks who have had cataract surgery (I've had both eyes done) and years of high blood sugar. I only found out I was diabetic last February so no telling how many years I had high bs.

I'm telling y'all - put that sugar down! Right now! And leave it!

Tuesday is the appt with the diabetic doctor - I sure there are no surprises there.

Have a very nice Friday night.

Happy Saturday!!

Whoo Its the weekend!

Well I made it through my up at 3 am day, wasn't even able to nap. I think i got over tired. I made it to the gym and everything.

Yesterday was another story. I was asleep by 815. I am not even kidding. I got a Greek salad for dinner, came home ate and put my Jammie's on, tried to read and fell asleep.

I did 2 classes this am at the gym, I felt very refreshed. I have to work tonight and then we are all going to the china blossom for Chinese as a group. I just home I can stay away from those damn crab Rangoon's. It just takes one and I'm finished. I'm going to hope they have steamed veggies like the place near my house does.

I went out for my Friends birthday the other night. I did alright. He drank I got club soda and lime, i did have those chips they plop in front of you on arrival. It was Mexican. I added the cheese did though and for dinner I had a chix fajita salad. I didn't eat the fried Tothtia it came it, so i guess that better then nothing. Dessert was sugar free cake I bought ahead of time at the bakery. It was made with white flour but It could have been worse.

sparkle2much-Enjoy the bicycle seat. Soon the weather will be improving (I HOPE) Good luck with the eye specialist. It's quite an eye opener (no pun intended) when you realize what sugar can do to your body. BLAH.

Chr-I'm glad you like the HRM and it's always nice to find out that what your doing is a good work out. I'm still impressed that you can do the whole DVD. I need the class to keep me motivated!

Mercee-Hope you have a good day!

Rosi-I agree the treadmill can be really scary if your not used to it. Char is correct though holding on isn't good. What I do is try to find a song you like that goes with speed. I feel more natural walking/running to the beat because i think of that rather then the treadmill. When I do run I never jump off..I just go as long as I can then gradually decrease the speed, its actually better for your heart rate to do it that way. Make sure you don't look down--The belt can make you dizzy--Look up at the TV or something. I find myself getting so bored that I could ceiling tiles and stupid stuff. But hey it works. Just keep telling yourself I GOT THIS>>I CAN DO IT!! You will!!

Michele-WOW your such a looser..HEHE Congrats on the 2 pounds. Id happily give you my energy if I could bottle it. Sometimes i have to admit it's caffeine induced though.

Toni and Solly-Good luck with the snow..We are just supposed to get sleet here. I'm not sure which is worse.

Heart-Yuck that doesn't sound good at all. I didn't even know they made sugar busters meals. Although now I won't waste my money on them. Thanks for telling us!

OK Everyone Have an awesome day!!! Enjoy the weekend.

Hey everybody - what y'all doing this afternoon? Well I'm not riding my bike cause it's just too cold. Went to sprawl mart and bought groceries, washed clothes, etc. etc. Went to IHOP for bkfast, remained legal with that.
Had 5 WW Ritz crackers with sharp cheddar cheese made with 2% milk, and a few grapes just now for a little snack.

Not much else going on round here.
