Question Food For Thought 1/28-2/3

Here's your challenge: Take at least ONE DAY to write down everything food related that passes your lips for one entire day.

Keep track the best you can. It's up to you to see how detailed you want to be. At least, write what food you ate and the amount (ounces, piece, etc). If you'd like to get detailed, you can journal like I do:

food - calories - fat - carbs - protein - fiber - calcium

If it's a prepackaged item, all the nutritional information is right there on the package. Just write it down. If it's an item like fruits, nuts, meats, veggies, chicken-stuff that's not prepackaged and has no nutritional info, check out a site like CALORIE KING, just click the link: http://www.calorieking.com/foods/

For those of you who use FITDAY.COM, you can make your journal public for that one day, if you wish.

Any day this week is fine, doesn't matter. I think this will be a great way to show others what we eat, while some people who don't ever journal; may have a eye-awakening experience to see how much they are really eating.

This is what I ate yesterday

Breakfast
Oatmeal made with 1/4 cup oatmeal, water and topped with 1 tbsp fruit syrup and 1 oz cream

Snack
1 tbsp raisins
1/2 granola bar
coffee with 1/2 oz 10% cream

Lunch
Grilled cheese sandwich on two slices Flax Bread.
1 slice Flax Bread with 2 tspn fruit spread
1/2 cup canned peaches in juice

The bread slices are small - 3 slices has 39 gm carbs.

Snack
Grapes - about 15
2 oz cheddar cheese

Dinner
3 slices canned corned beef
Lettuce, celery and mustard pickle
Fruit cup

Snacks
Granola bar x 2 (Had second one when I got home from work at midnight.)
1/2 cup canned peaches in juice.

Default MONDAY FOOD FOR THOUGHT

This is what I had on Monday-not my fill of calories cause I wasn't feeling up to par that day.

6oz ff yogurt...............85
.8oz mango puree......15
5.8oz rapsberries.......80
5 babushka cookies..110
1sl sf bread.................50
1.3oz onion/celery.......10
1 tbl mayo...................50
3oz plain chicken........150
1oz cheesecake...........70
5.5oz salmon..............325
2/3tbl pine nuts............35
3oz apple.....................50
3.5oz strawberries.......30

This totaled 1060calories, 42 grams of fat, 95 grams of carbs, 92 grams of protein, 15.5grams of fiber and 310 grams of calcium. Once again, wasn't feeling well, so this wasn't typical of my usual eating, but thought I'd post it anyhow since I journaled that day.

Will post today's journal sometime tomorrow
