Bitsy could havae seen a snake. She also cowerswhen a bird dlies low or she hears their call.

I just don't know what to do with her, she is a real nudge in the chair and is nrevously trying to look out the window that overlooks the yard.

Since Katrina there are more snakes and hawks around.

Good Monday morning ladies,

Lazy sort of weekend. It rained Sat night and all day yesterday so we hit the malls. Nothng exciting anyway. We worked the meat and great for our new pastor yesterday. He seems nice.

Tech, I'm sure with you helping Shelley on SB is will also help you stay on track. I agree a journal helps tremedously. Don't be too strict on her, or she will want to quit quickly. Let her be the one to decide when she cares more about her health and body then the pizza and chocolate.

Sef, I agree with Monet, maybe it was a snake. Uck! Hope she gets better soon.

Monet, good luck to your friend. That is a hard break to make sometimes.

Bob, how's the job coming? Easier?

Better get some of this work started. My DD will be here to help me out this week. I will need it, since it's getting close to vacation. Have a great day

Morning! I took James to the train so he can catch his flight out to Florida. He will be in Tampa for the week. :( I miss him already! The week sure flew! He comes home in a week and will be here another week before he heads out.

I have a meeting this morning with the art teacher I will be subbing for while she is having her baby. It is the job I wanted...so it is a bit awkward, but I hope I like her. I just think she ought to stay home with the baby for a year...but I guess I am old school.

I forgot to weigh in this morning. I will do it when I get home. I have had some espresso, but nothing else. I need to go shoot my Byetta and eat something.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I am glad mine is over! Whew! It was full of unpleasant drama. I hope the week is better.

I will check in when I get back! :crossed: I hope I like the teacher!

Good morning,

Thought I would drop in before my day gets hectic. I have gotten up yesterday and today and walked in the mornings. Yesterday it was raining so I did the :tread: but today I got 40 minutes in. My tennis shoes are rubbing blisters on my toes. I don't know what's up with that. They are not new, just the opposite. Maybe it is time for a new pair.

Monet, good luck with the art teacher. Now days some people just don't have the luxury of staying home for a year. I didn't.

Boy the board is slow. Guess I'm off to check emails. Have a great day.

Good Morning

I was up early and went walking this morning. I've had a busy few days. Yesterday I went out to lunch with some old work buddies. Then in the evening it was my grandson's grade 8 graduation. This evening it's my gd's grade 8 graduation. I leave for my vacation on Thursday - I'm going on an Alaska cruise with some relatives. The ship leaves from Seattle so will be flying out there Thursday evening and the cruise starts on Friday. I'm really looking forward to it.

I got a pile of laundry done this morning. I'm also trying to finish a book I am reading so I can take it back to the library before I leave, and maybe pick up something else to take with me.

I'm hoping I can control my eating while I am away but I know there will be lots of good food. I'll just have to try and exercise self control. I'm off to Costco now to pick up a few things - want to make sure I have some food in the freezer when I return. So if you don't see me around for a while I haven't deserted you all. I will be back.

Greetings to everyone.

Well, last night I had chicken grilled on the grill and topped it with stone fruit salsa (recipe to follow), cantaloupe and summer squash. Shelley had a giant bowl of illegal pasta with sauce. I know it's not on plan, but I let her off the hook.

Stone Fruit Salsa:

Two Plums
Two Peaches or Nectarines
Handful of cilantro
half a lemon
teaspoon of splenda

Peel the peaches, nectarines and plums and cut them into small cubes. Toss in a bowl. Squeeze the juice of the lemon on top to keep them from browning. Then chop the cilantro and toss in. Then add the splenda. Let it sit for 15 minutes.

PS...marching band is proving to be GREAT exercise with my flag girls. Spin, spin, butterfly, spin, spin, toss...all while marching in step in circles around the parking lot. My arms are sore...and it's great confidence buildign for me...I'm 41 and have WAY more motivation than the teenagers!! :woohoo:

Hi all,

Just a quick note to say I am still here. Am back down to the 254 I was before I went bonkers and cheated too much,

I have been busy. Yesterday I was a t NH in morning, then to grocery, then Joyful Noise entertained in the afternoon. I was pooped. Everyone fended for themselves for supper.

Bitsy is gingerly exploring the yard. So she is getting back to normal. For a while there I thought I might need a dog psychiatrist!!!

Today balancing bank statement and getting music together for July's program. We are rehearsing this afternoon.

Will check in later.

May good things happen, Shirley

Just a fly by...I wanted to say hello. I need to go pack up a few pots to ship. I wanted to get them to the post office today, but it took me longer at the Asian market than I thought it would. They just opened up a new one near the gym, so it will be very convenient for me to stop in there after water aerobics. Today, I needed some things for dinner since we are having company...so I ran up there.

It is hot! I feel very saggy from the heat. I got up at 5, cleaned in the kitchen, made espresso for Tom and I, then went to the garagio and worked. I got seven goblets done and I hope they turn out nice. I can't tell yet how they look since they have to dry enough to turn over! :)

Talk to you all later!

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 06-26-2007 05:34 PM

http://bestsmileys.com/hello/6.gifEVERY BUDDY!!!

Things are going good down this way. I had to leave work early to take TIPPY to the Doc...He's putting her on a diet...there is now a diet pill for dogs...well...it's not a pill, it's liquid. She weighs 11.1 lbs and should weigh no more than 5 lbs! Of course, the predesone doesn't help, but he's taken her off that and she now takes a new medicine for her allergies.

Work is going fine. Still a lot to learn, but that will come in time. I just wish the time would pass quickly for me to have my insurance. That comes the first of September.

Haven't had time to read the board, but I will and get back to replies. Right now, I'm off to fix supper.

Just journaling my food, don't mind me. Shelley's not doing so well on the plan. She did well for breakfast...we both had two scrambled eggs and half a banana, then we came home from marching band practice and I had a nectarine and she had a graham cracker. Then for lunch I had a giant salad and she had a cheese and mayo sandwich with lettuce on sourdough with half an apple, which wasn't too bad. Then for snacking at the beach, we had some triscuits with cheese and some diet sodas then my friend, Marianne gave her a bag of doritos. For dinner I had bacon-wrapped chicken with more stone fruit salsa and a 1/4 cantaloupe and Shelley had boxed macaroni and cheese. So, she's not perfect on the diet, but has made GREAT strides in ridding the sugar from her diet so far.

So, no time for replies at the moment. I've been out of the house all day for days and my living room is disgusting. I asked Derek to help me and tidy up a bit for me and he went around raving about being the bread winner AND having to do all the picking up AND doing all the laundry (he did a few loads yesterday...which, in his mind, constitutes ALL the laundry  ) Just because we've been to the beach two days in a row... I'm taking care of the kids! So what if I do it in a beautiful setting. Anyhow, I came home and lo and behold, the house actually looked a little messier than when I left. See if I ask HIM to help out again. I get a lecture AND no results. :(

Hello everyone...... Just wanted to pop in and say I'm still alive. I just gave up. I haven't got on the scale in so long and am afraid to. Guess I'll just bite the bullet and do it. I just got back from a trip to Texas to see my son who's home for a couple of weeks from Iraq. He'll have to go back Sat. It was sure good to see him. Its good to see so many of you on the board. I need to go back and read the posts from this month. I'm so behind. Hopefully this coming week end my DH can dig my treadmill out so I can start walking on it. Have to go fold laundry.

Ellen 06-26-2007 10:43 PM

Hey, TONI! So good to see you! I was wondering, worrying about you. Now STAY PUT!

I got my goblets done...and I think they look nice. I hope they dry and fire fine. I only have a week and a half to get them totally finished. Its kind of cutting it close, but I hope I can do it.

I got in 60 minutes of water aerobics. I had Kaeleb in his floaty frog. At first he was not happy, but eventually, he got happy and was splashing around some. It was kind of fun!

Time for bed! Night, and sweet dreams!

Solly 06-27-2007 07:48 AM

Good morning

Nothing exciting with me. Trying to get caught up to go on vacation. You work yourself to death before you leave and then when you gt back. Don't know if it is worth it. Let me think, Yes it is.

We leave next Thursday.

Monet, did you ship my pot here to work? I couldn't remember which address I gave you. Hope it comes before I leave. If not the girls will watch over it. It will kill them not knowing what's int he box though.

Rosalie, have a wonderful time on your cruise. There is so much food on those ships, diet is a forbidden word. Enjoy yourself.

Tech, Shelley has to want to do this, so a few illegal things will not hurt her. Once she sees some wt loss, we may change her mind and pass on those chips.

Bob, Now don't you be dippin into Tippy's diet pills. How funny. My DD's dog has lost quite a bit a wt on just a diet dog food. Of course when he comes to my house he gets bologna and hot dogs. Seems like a long waiting period for your insurance. I thought 30 days was the norm.

Toni, so glad to see your post. We all have been where you are. Just take it a day at a time. Now stay on here.

Sef, Glad Bitsy is not afraid anymore. WTG on getting back to your low.

Time for work. Have a great day

Ellen 06-27-2007 08:33 AM

I am suited up and about to leave for water aerobics class.

SOLLY: Yes, you gave me your work address. It was sent priority mail, so it should be there soon. I think it is supposed to only take a few days, so you may even have it by Friday.

Gotta run!

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-27-2007 12:32 PM

HELLO EVERYONE ~ I thought I had posted last week, but I guess I didn't; anyways, we've been so busy here ourselves and I haven't been on the net as much as usual. I had a back-log of over thirty emails to read and reply to some; it took me well over two hours, and I'm still not finished.

Well, we've had some nice rain lately; last night a doozy of a lightening storm, but I'm just grateful for the cooler temps. I went out to cut chives for my big pot of veggie soup this morning; I put several small containers up in the freezer for other days; just love it.

GARDEN UPDATE: everything is growing really well; we had to put plastic on our garden as we had a couple of frosts; only our potatoes got hit ~ whether they can come back, I don't know. We put the rest of the mulch paper down yesterday and gleaned up a bit; it looks great, and today the onions are almost a foot high already; all the rain this week is helping. Yesterday, I had lettuce, radishes, and salad onions with my lunch.

I'm keeping on plan much better this week and trying to do as much walking as I can; some 20-30 minutes. MO has given me some good hints from her plan for snacks and how to cut down some carbs each day. I'm hoping that will help ~ ^praying^!

WELL, DH is in for lunch so I gotta go; will come back and post again. Take care all ~ ROSEBUD.
