Just a quickie as it is almost time to go home.
Been walking 2 times a day, early morning and late at night. Hope that helps. Eating has been good. Tonight is bunco, that is always a test. Hopefully we will be in her pool and away from the food. Monet, with that daym, you should be tired. Get some rest. Sef, glad you got all that car mess settled. Sometimes you just can't be nice. Take care. County, come on girl. Get out there. You remember how much yo liked walking. Find you a buddy or take the dogs. Heart, glad you found the answer. Good going. Better run. Got to close up shop here. Have a great evening. |
Evening! I was lazy today. I ended up taking a nap this afternoon, and was OUT for two hours! Dinner tonight was sauteed sole filets, brussel sprouts and salad. I ate a cucumber from the garden tonight. Yum! It was the first one we got. In a few days, we are going to have more than we know what to do with! haha!
I can't believe I never shared about the lab results. My A1C was up a bit from last time, but still very good. I am sure it is going back down again, since my blood glucose levels seem to have dropped a good bit in the last two weeks. (this is a good thing, by the way! :) ) My thyroid meds needed a little tweaking, and my cholesterol was a little high, but probably because I was not fasting for the test. I go back in six weeks to be rechecked. SEF:  I am so glad you got the car stuff settled. I know what you mean about having that 'special' friend. Bonnie is the first one I have had in a long time. We just get along so well! I have other friends, but it just isn't the same. So I completely understand. SOLLY: I hope you get through the Bunco party without a problem! By the way, I have the new edition of your pot done, and will get it packed up and sent now. I LIKE this one! :) I hope you do too! COUNTRY: Pumpkins already? How big are they? I know if you have pumpkins around here, they are not ready to pick until the fall. We just got our first cucumbers tonight, and Tom said there was some okra about ready to be picked. In the next few weeks, we are going to have tons of stuff! I saw a few green beans the other day, so it won't be long! yay! Ok, off to get my water aerobics in...after napping this afternoon, I did not have time to suit up before Justin left for work.... |
Hey Everyone!!
Yep - I'm still around! I'm just not around the board at all lately!! How are all of you doing? We are great over here. I'm getting ready to bring Alexis to daycare because I have a Dr. appointment today. I'm 32 weeks - only 8 more to go!!! Still no weight gain so I'm really hoping to be down a few once I have this baby!!! Hopefully that will be motivation for me! That and I'm sure I won't have much time to eat!! HAH! We have been working hard on getting things together for the baby's arrival - it doesn't seem like we will ever have everything done. I've also been trying to do all of my school work for my substitute. So, needless to say - I haven't had 1 day to just lay around in my pjs and do nothing. I go to the dr. 2 times a week and I've been bringing Lexie to the Dr. for different things too. I've been burnin some gas over here!! Well, I'll try to check back later today! I miss all of you and I hope you are doing well! Much love! Missy |
CRYSTLE: I just skimmed back a page and saw that you posted to me - thanks for thinking of me!! Yes - the heat is killing me! It's been SO HOT and humid here. I'm sure we will have a nice electricity bill this month!! The good thing is that I haven't put on any extra weight to make me even hotter!! Thank goodness for that!!!
TECH: You look like your mom!!!! Very nice pics - thanks for sharing! Ok - that's all for now!!! Missy |
Good afternoon
The scales went down so I'm a happy camper. There is something mental about being in the 170's versus the 180's. It makes me feel like I'll see the 160's or 150's again one day.
Monet...I'm not really sure how big the pumpkins are but if I had to guess around 5 or 10 pounds. I will have to take a picture. I have some pictures from when they were on the vine. My largest pumpkin is still on the vine and it might make 15 pounds. I think it is so cool your garden is starting to come in. Enjoy those cukes. Missy...so good to see you. It sounds like you are crazy busy. Hang in there. Awesome on no weight gain. I gained SOOO much with my first two kiddos. The last one the doctor pretty much kept on me to keep the weight down. Solly....I hear you. I'm seriously lacking motivation. I think that my poor eating and lack of exercise is effecting my emotions as well as my body. I need to bite the bullet and just do it. I have every walk video known to man. Okay maybe not that many but I do have several of Leslie's walk videos in the other room. ((hugzz)) ((Everybody)) You are each AWESOME and an inportant part of this board and support systerm. Thanks for being you. God bless, Crystle |
Hi everyone
This is just a quickie to let you know I am still around. Don't have time to post much now as I am off to a doctor's appointment in a few minutes. After that I am going to a friends for a barbecue. Will try to get back later. Missy - It's good to hear from you and to know that things are going well for you. I often think about you and that precious child you are carrying. :grouphug: to everyone. |
Hey everyone! I spent some time at the wheel today, and got a few canisters and lids thrown. I am really bummed. I ordered a swimsuit from a place on line, and they finally sent it, almost a month late. I was beginning to be suspicious when I went back and checked the web page, and found they had redone some of the page....especially in how they had changed the sizing on the suit I ordered. To make a long story short, they sent me a GIRL'S bathing suit, instead of an adult sized one. Plus, they sent me TWO of them. Sheesh. They are about a girl's size 7...too bad I don't know anyone who can use them. I am SO bummed!
FRUIT: Good to see you! I know you are excited about the baby! Please keep us all posted! COUNTRY: I think I am about the only one who likes cukes. :( I will probably end up sharing a number of them with friends. We had a few okras that were about ready to pick! Woo! I will definitely fry some. ROSALIE: You stay on the go ALL the time! Off to get something done! |
TGIF! :carrott:
Glad the weekend is almost here. Can you beleive we don't have any real plans for this weekend. I think it is the first weekend in 2 months. But, I plan to work in our yard in the morning and then go to a friend's pool in the afternoon. Sunday, my DH is playing golf, so I will head out to my DD's pool. I can't beleive my vacationis only 2 weeks away. I'm getting excited. Monet, Oh I can't wait to get my pot. I thought you had forgotten about it. What a bummer about the bathing suit. I found one I liked, but I have one more place to check before I cut the tags. Missy, Man talk about ESP. I was just thinking yesterday that I needed to send you an email. I can't believe you only have 8 weeks left. It has gone so fast, bet not for you though. We need some updated pics of Lexie. How wonderful you have not gained any wt. Country, :cheer: WTG on the loss. I know what you mean about being about the 170/180's. I was the same way, now it am fighting the edge of the 170/160's. Rosalie, Glad to hear from you. Have fun at your bbq. Alright, work is calling, everyone have a great weekend. |
Well, yesterday was my last day at work and I left bawling my eyes out....but as I was on the road home I have to admit to a feeling of "woohoo! No more Saturdays!!" :woohoo: And I have a few prospects of people who's hair I can do at home and I'm going to get a design kit put together this week and get the word out that I'm now the travelling hairdresser. I DO NOT want to do hair in my house as, you may remember, hair in my house makes me slightly psychotic (actually, alot psychotic), but I'm going to get myself an apron for me, some capes for clients, combs, clippers, foils and bleach and some colors, brushes, irons and such and become hair on wheels! Working to my own schedule. It should be fun.
Also, Shelley came to me crying on Friday because none of her clothes fit her anymore. She hasn't grown 'up' in years and is, admittedly, starting to grow 'out'. No matter how much we tell her how beautiful she is and how she looks healthy, not chubby, being 13 and going from a size 7 to a size 9 and under 5 feet, amongst many, many other girls that are a size 00, I can feel her frustration. Only thing I'm telling her is that she puts down an ENORMOUS amount of sugar and is well on her way to being diabetic. So, I told that TODAY we are going on Sugar Busters...not to lose weight, but to feel healthy and to BE healthy. I guarantee she'll lose 10 pounds as a result this summer easily. With all the swimming we do on the boat all summer AND marching band, toss in a healthy eating plan and not only will she look better and feel proud to gain control of her figure, but she'll physically feel better and healthier. So...our menu for breakfast is going to be scrambled eggs, bacon and fruit salad. |
Hey everyone! Lots of drama here. One of my daughter's friends came over yesterday with her psychotic boyfriend chasing here. NOT fun! Today, they are helping her move to a new place to get rid of him.
I just came in from 40 minutes of water aerobics. I feel kind of shakey, so I may need to eat something soon. I hate being diabetic. Sure screws up your life a lot. TECH: :bravo: Way to go on getting back to healthy eating! I am sure all of you will feel better eating well. Poor Shelley. She will not understand until she is older that most guys like a girl with some 'meat' on them, and that skinny look is ONLY popular in fashion magazines. |
For breakfast, we stuck to plan and had bacon, eggs and fruit salad. A green-tipped banana for a snack and I had to beat Shelley away from the leftover pizza in the fridge for her snack. Now, I'm making us a huge, yummy salad for lunch. I just got back from walkign the dog and had a big glass of water, but Shelley has her monthly you-know-what and passed on the walk. I'm going to have Shelley and I keep a journal of our eating...I really think htat helps.
Okay...I'm off to go make my salad. |
TECH,
I understand your plan telling Shelley that the sugar consumption will lead to Diabetes, but I read an article the other night that contrary to public belief, suger doesn't cause diabetes. It's a genetic thing, along with obesity. I'm so sorry that you quiet your job, I know how you like it, but maybe the "traveling hairdresser" idea is a good one. You will be your OWN BOSS, and I think you'll like that better. How are the MEN IN THE HOUSE???? Let us know how that is going...will ya??? I'm off to do laundry....I'll check in later! BOB[/b] |
Hi all,
Nothing exciting here. Stitch group on Thursday, wash on Friday, dusted and did bathroom on Saturday. I would have vacuumed too, but DD was in bed with a migraine and my sitting room is right over bedroom. I could have, but I hurt and needed an excuse not too. Church today, DD still had headache and I still needed an excuse!!! Poor Bitsy. I let her out yesterday afternoon and stayed inside to talk to GD. When I called Bitsy in she didn't come. Stepped out to see where she was and found her cowering under the couch on deck. I had to actually coax her out! Poor girl was trembling. Around 6:30 she usually goes out again after eating. She was scared to death!! Hugged my legs and wouldn't go out into yard. At 10 I walked off pool apron and had to coax her to follow so she would potty. I thought by morning she would forget....uhuh! She did step onto grass at edge of deck and then went to edge of pool, but not around it. She is very nervous. Don't know what happened to scare her so. This is the dog that follows the lawn mower, defies the vacuum, and is afraid of nothing! She is so nervous and I hate to see her like that, complete change from normal. I went out with her every time today and tried to reassure her. Strange. It is a fenced in yard with privacy fence, all houses have them here. She was out there by herself, a cat could climb fence, but the neighboring dogs couldn't, they're all small breeds. In evenings she usually she lays on the recliner footrest a while, gets off and plays a while, etc. Last night all she wanted to do was sit on top of me as tight as she could. Thought I had afghan finsihed but when I laid it on bed it is a little too narrow so am doing a couple of more strips. Thank goodness I hadn't started the border. Think I will set aside my plans for the Amish Farm cross stitch. A couple in our church just got engaged, so may do a wedding sampler for them. They are an older couple, confirmed bachelor and a widow. DD is trying a detoxification diet for her migraines. She has to eliminate wheat, milk etc from her presnt regime for ten days then gradually reintroduce various foods to see if there is any reaction. At least that's the gist of it. Only chicken and fish. Her boss, the chiropractor, suggested it and gave her the detox powder. Back is doing better. Have been very careful in what I do. Sorta limits my activities but sure helps. Next week will be busy. I am off and running four days in a row. Y'all take care. May good things happen, Shirley |
Hey, SEF, maybe Bitsy saw a snake?
I have a plan to make a few wine goblets as a going away gift, so I am off to work! :) Talk to you all in the morning! |
Just a quick menu posting:
For dinner tonight we had some homemade split pea with ham soup, but Shelley had chicken noodle soup as she is still ailing from her monthly and then begged for some chocolate from smores over the weekend. I just had a plum for a snack and will wash it down with a big glass of water and my vitamins. (I like to take them at night) Then it's off to bed. Kyle starts swimming lessons tomorrow at 8am for two weeks every day. It's free to kids that live in our town. At the same time, Shelley and I have marching band. So, off to bed for all of us!! |
