Newbie with an NSV
Hi everyone - I'm pretty new here - I've been observing for a few days, and just wanted to let you all know how much inspiration it gives me to read about your successes, and struggles, and how you bounce back. So far, I've lost 16 lb since the beginning of January, which is amazing to me. I've spent so long thinking about losing weight and half-heartedly trying to lose weight that it's kind of wierd to actually be losing! I had a great talk with my doctor at the beginning of the year, and he just sat down with me and helped me figure out what I needed to do to get to a healthy weight, which I guess was what I needed. I find so often that doctor's can act superior and disdainful when their talking to you about losing weight, but my doctor was really nice, and totally made me believe I could do it. Anyhow... here I am, with my first real NSV. I went for a lovely long hike with my dad last weekend, and was taking pictures when he asked to take a picture of me - normally I shudder at the thought of photos of myself, but I'd just had a great weigh-in, so I was game, and.... I actually liked it! This is seriously the first time I've liked a photo of myself in about 5 years. There's no double chin, my face looks slim, and, even though I'm wearing a bulky vest, I actually think I look pretty good. It feels so good to like a photo of myself, I just had to share.
Looking forward to having new successes to share, and love reading all of yours!
