I compliment I got when I lost the weight before: A truck driver who worked with me came in one day and asked what I was doing and not knowng what he meant meant I said "answering phones" to which he replied "no to lose weight, you look amazing... god you must have to run around in the shower to get wet" That was the best compliment I ever got and wanted to feel that way again helped keep me motivated this time around
I havnt recieve any complelemts due to my weight loss yet but am looking forward to it, but i feel great! I can feel the difference and i feel my clothes fit me better.
Got some more great compliments at the baby shower i went to last night ... there was one woman there that had no clue I was trying to lose weight and she comes up to me saying how great im looking.. then shes like in a whisper 'you've lost weight, didnt you? ... you're doing very well!' ... just so nice to hear it from different people, to be noticed ... there were two other people as well (the rest of the people there didnt really know me when i was 'bigger')
Last week as I was getting my depo-provera-shot (contraception) the nurse (whom I had never met before) felt around for my hip bone and said "Well there sure was no problem finding your hip bone since you're so slim". I told her I used to weigh 60 pounds more than I do now and she didn't believe me. I guess it's hard to believe that a slim person has been everything BUT slim.

I went and saw family I hadn't seen for a year over Thanksgiving and everyone told me how wonderful I looked and said I was glowing! It was really great to hear that from good family, it keeps me motivated.
Hello all! I'm new here and thought that this would be a good place to start because I received my first compliment today and I am just thrilled!!!
I have lost 12 lb. in a month. I was called into a conference call meeting in my CEO's office today and when I walked in the door she looked at me and said "You're looking thin". I told her that I had lost 12 lbs. so she announced to the 3 people on the conference call that I was losing weight and looked fantastic!
I saw my half-sister last week and she said she wouldn't have recognized me if she saw me on the street. I hadn't seen her since May of this year. I also received lots of compliments on Saturday when I saw a lot of people that I hadn't seen in a while. Sure makes a person feel good!!
Somebody told me I eat loads! Which I'm taking as a compliment because I eat loads of healthy food, and surely being "able" to eat loads without obviously ballooning is a good thing!?
I keep getting compliments from people at work. Lot's of "you are doing so well" or "wow you look great". The best one was when I first returned from a 2-week vacation last month. I had actually gained 2 lbs. on vacation (a victory because I was going to allow myself 5...it was a great vacation).
I walk in the door on the first day back, take my jacket off & hang it on the chair, I'm wearing a new shirt that actually fits (and is not too baggy) and one girl stands up at her desk and says "how did you get so skinny so fast?". She had just noticed and was sure I had spent my entire 2 weeks off working out.
I've had to change my clothing sizes 3 times now. I get the most compliments when I first buy the newer, better fit, smaller clothing. They get used to seeing me in a size 18...they get baggy...I go out & stock up on size 16 & 14 stuff...it all fits right & looks good...that's when people really notice.
My closest friends here in Knoxville are guys. And they're not really quick to pass out the compliments. In fact, sometimes it's like pulling eye teeth to get them to say anything! But one of my friends who had moved away a little over a year ago came back to visit for the first time in early November. He didn't say anything directly to me, but he told another friend (who in turn told me) that he wouldn't have recognized me on the street and that I was looking "skinny and happy." That certainly made my day!!
I like seeing folks that I haven't seen in a long time. It's hard for me to see the weight loss because it seems sooooooo slow. But when someone else points it out, I'm always like "you know, I *have* lost a lot of weight!"
This one came to me via my husband. We were at the grocery store yesterday and split up to grab various items. Two women stopped him in the meat department to tell him how great I was looking (heh) One lady had apparantly told the other "Hey look! He's got a new woman" and other had replied "No! that's the same one" hehehehe it makes me wonder how many random strangers think that I'm the new wife!
Sometimes I think compliments are kind of two-sided . . . My fiance's grandmother said to me when I saw her in July "Would you like to introduce yourself? Where's the rest of you?" (could be taken as a compliment, or as "man, you were FAT before!") When I saw her at Thanksgiving she said something like "Well hello there skinny!" (much more complimentary!) Of course the most two-sided one I've gotten from her was "You really have turned your life around!" Luckily all my future-MIL says is that I look great.
A guy at school I hadn't seen in a couple months said to me something like (I can't remember exactly) "There's almost nothing left of you!"
Here is another funny one -- I was at a social gathering at school, which always involves cookies. This was like right after I got engaged, so it was recent news. I was looking at the calorie counts on the cookies to try to find the lowest-cal option (since I can't resist cookies, I can at least eat the least-bad ones!), and one guy was like "Stop counting calories! You're engaged, you don't need to be thin!" I have also gotten a couple of those "Why are you trying to eat so healthy? You don't need to lose any weight" comments.
I went down to the nurse's office today at work to get my free flu shot (yay!) and the hurse said, "So, how much weight -have- you lost, exactly?"
When I told her, she said, "Wow! Valerie and I have been trying to figure it out!"
I asked if she could really tell the difference and she assured me that she could... and that's good news since my boyfriend says that I pretty much look the same... and I feel that I look the same, too.
It was a nice feeling.
I got a couple of comments at work yesterday. The first person saw me leaving for lunch and said "Eat something!!" and I answered back that I eat lunch every day....he then said "But you need tootsie rolls or something!!". That one made me laugh. Not two hours later someone else said "You have gotten so thin that you are just going to blow away!"
I think they were noticing because I was wearing some new clothes that actually FIT right.
