Default I Have A Butt!!!

I never would have dreamed that a side effect of eating healthy and exercising is growing a nice booty!!! Even when I was little and skinny I never had a butt, my back just kind of ran into my legs with a crack in the middle (sorry but it's true) I was looking at my bum in the mirror at work and realized that I am actually starting to fill out the rump of my pants!!! I assume it is from the endless hours of spinning, lunges and squats. Not that I don't like working out but now I LOVE squats and lunges (I never thought I would say that!)!!! Just thought I would share!! It's funny that I am excited about a body part actually getting bigger!! (I guess it is actually just getting firmer and higher but I'll take it )

Anyone else having a positive side effect that you didn't know would happen?

I haven't had much change in the major areas, but I did have a tiny triumph when I could take a link out of the bracelet band of my watch.

Contrats on the better fitting pants After almost 30 lbs, I've FINALLY dropped a size, but I'm still waiting to be shaped a little nicer.

Thanks girls!!

Justforus- To grow a booty...LUNGES & SQUATS & LUNGES & SQUATS & LUNGES & SQUATS & LUNGES & SQUATS & LUNGES & SQUATS.
When I do my lunges (back and forth across my living room...enough to do around 40 lunges or so) I hold 10 lb. weights in my hands and do bicep curls with each lunge. I do squats at home every night with my big exercise ball. I put the ball against the wall and lean against it (it rests just above my now existing butt ), move my feet out a little in front of me and squat down to an almost sitting position. After I do about 15-20 I stay in the squatting position and do little pulses up and down without coming all of the way up (these are a killer ) Sometimes I put weights in my hands when I do squats just to torture myself I do lunges and squats every night without fail and I do believe that is the reason for my new booty growth.

Thanks again for the support ladies...I love having a butt!! (now I just need to keep it and shrink it )

Hmmmm I have a butt already, that's the thing that is still leaving the room 5 minutes after I do

Seriously though, congratulations.

I love the fitball squats, they are certainly helping to tighten up my enormous derriere, and the are good for the ankles and lower legs too. My husband has always said my legs are my worst feature (charming man ) and now says they are lovely!!! (I still hate them but that's ok!!)

;_; Aww, no fair. I have two constantly bruised knees that are bad to begin with, so no squats here. I've always had a huge, flabby butt, and I guess that's how it's gonna stay.

Congratulations, though.

My face. When I was younger, I had a very round face, and two or three chins, lol.. I'd always get teased for it, more than anything else. And up until I hit 140, I was thinking, "Argh, my face is ALWAYS going to be huge and round. I'd be happy if just my face looked thin." Now that the fat's coming off, I look like a totally different person. I should scan in a "before" picture. >:D

When I was in high school, I weighed 132 pounds. Years later, people who saw me now that I was overweight, commented about how skinny I used to be in high school. However, in high school, I didn't have a figure. I wasn't pleased with my shape even though I was in the right weight range, because I resembled kind of a stick. Straight and no curves.

Since exercising to lose the weight, I gained the curves. I was surprised to find I actually had a waist hiding in there.

I was always flat-butted, regardless of weight. Now I grew a butt, too. Even though I weigh more than I used to, my butt looks better... in pants, at least. My main exercise is biking. (It's a good exercise for those of you whose knees hurt.)

I roller blade and walk now. I used to have an awesome bike, a $600-something GT, but some jerk slashed the tires and did something else. Screwed it up so bad that even if I got new tires and tubes, they'd go flat. I was getting too big for the bike anyway (stunt bikes are grossly tiny, and I like tall bikes.. even the tallest ones feel too short for me), so I sold it to somebody who wanted to fix it up. Biking's great, but I do prefer rollerblading, so I'm gonna stick with that. Dunno how good an exercise it is, though. I can't help but think fun things aren't gonna burn many calories. :P

Individia--oh wow, rollerblading is FANTASTIC exercise, especially for lean, nicely shaped legs and hips! Keep after it! I used to rollerblade about 7 years ago and it was a blast! Thanks for reminding me of how fun it can be. I need to try it again now that I've lost some weight and am looking for more fun exercise.

I generally prefer doing squats and lunges (any free-form exercise) to a weights machine, but I've been doing leg extension/press/curls and WHOOOOEY, I tell ya I'm feeling it!!

I've never had a butt, either, so maybe I can look forward to one in the future!

I've lost my butt....

I think it's the kickboxing but I used to have a big lovely J-Lo butt, and now it's gone... Maybe I should try some squats to build it back up!

Well, for those of us who had a butt, and lost it, I've figured it out. It's a fat pouch that grows on top of the butt that flattens it out. It's like it connects your butt to your back.
