Talking half pound

I know it sounds absolutely silly to be excited over losing a half pound, but it's a big deal for me. Even though I've been working out for years, it's the first time I've been able to deliberately change my weight. I've been working really hard lately and lost a half pound since Monday.
I'm 5'1 and now 120 pounds. I'm not overweight but I'd really like to get closer to my ideal- 110-115. I'd probably be happy around 112 which is what I was a few years ago. I really want to get myself comfortable with a healthy lifestyle because I'll be a college freshman in September and I really don't want to gain the famous freshman 15.
So what am I doing differently this time?
-I'm not cutting carbs, even though if I eat less food I'lll inevitable eat less carbs too. I know I could lose weight a lot faster that way but I don't want the side effects.
-I have a problem with emotional eating, bingeing, overeating, whatever you want to call it. I've really been working on the emotional and cognitive stuff related to that recently.
-I'm not very cardiovascularly fit so I'm doing a few 15-minute workouts throughout the day: maybe two cardio workouts, one or two strength workouts, and stretching.
-I'm NOT eating after nine.
-I'm planning my efforts in three-day chunks because I don't do well following a long-term plan.

I guess at this rate, my "sprint" to 119 on Independance Day should be very doable.
And by the way, this is my first ever post to 3FC.

First off, welcome to 3FC!!!

YAY for you.... 1/2 pound = 2 sticks of butter. Sounds like you've got a plan going... good luck!
