Ariadne - Good morning and happy Saturday. I have been so bad with the exercing myself that I only did it one day last week!!! Sea? never seen one. We have Lake Ontario but it's usually only safe to swim in like 3 days of the whole summer!

Your a sweet fan huh? Me I am a grease fan. I don't eat sweets but you can give me fries and gravy anytime! I can't imagine what I would weigh now if sweets were also in the picture!

Good luck on the weigh in tomorrow and remember even if there is no loss.....you still accomplished something by remaining focused and determined!!!! I acually found I loose faster when I don't exercise which is weird but than so am I.

This week has been a killer for me as I have had to attend a funeral and hold the wake afterwards....lots of stress. But it's done now and I can get back to normal hopefully. I am heading into work for a few hours to do some catching up. Take care and let me know how you are doing okay?

Dale it's been so long since we've last posted here...
Are you still on a diet?

I 've been trying a lot for the last 2 weeks and last Sunday managed to lose one extra pound. Now I'm looking forward for this Sunday...

I've been very busy these days, I risked falling off the wagon , but I'm still holding up..

Would like to hear from you and see how you're doing...
have a nice day!
kisses

P.S. I've joined 50 days till summer challenge. It's in the -20s group. You're welcome to join us if you like.

Well, glad to hear from you all!
hope we get back on track!! The weather here is wonderful and I'm following my calories counting in every detail.
Though, I must admit it I overpassed 2000 on mother's day.
But since monday i stay at 1000-1200 and I look forward to this Sunday...

It's difficult to write down what you ate when you fall off the wagon..it can be really hard..(I usually write down everything I eat to have some control) but it helps...it makes you stronger..

Well,I wish you all good luck!

Have a nice day

Ok...I started this thread when I had lost 22 pounds and to date it is now at 36 with another 26 to go. I admit I have not been very OP the last few months and the fact that I have managed to lose those last 14 is some what of a miracle. I am now at a plateau and not because my body does not want to lose more weight but it has gotten used to me eating the way I do and is comfortable. I need to jumpstart it again with a healthy plan.

So I am making some new and renewing some old goals. The things I have lacked the last few months are the excercise. So I will walk to the subway every morning on the way to work. (it is about a 20 minute walk) its not much but it's a start. I have not been taking my vitamins at all and I need to start incorporating that again. Water? I foget what it tastes like and will once again drink like a fish. While my eating has not been to bad. Most days I eat healthy (good carbs only) It is truly alcohal that has been my downfall. This is a habit (addiction) that I am determined to kick. I have given myself excuses that since I continued to loose it was okay to have beer when I wanted (and I have wanted alot). There has been alot of topics talked about on this board and it has been very helpful. The only thing I haven't found is if anyone is actually going through the same thing with alcohal or am I the only one? I know I have a problem and it would be great to have someone to share this with. I don't know if it's just not talked about because it really is not a weight issue but a control issue, but I do see both my weight and my drinking as the same problem and if I could be happier with my weight maybe I would not feel the need to numb myself with alcohal. I am sure there are other things beside my weight that have helped in making me unhappy but at this time I want to focus on these things.

I have 26 pounds to go and I know there is no way I am going to do this without working on the above.

Today I am going to go shopping for my food for the week. I will cook al my meals and freeze them. I found this to help in not having to decide everyday what I will eat and than make a unhealthy choice because it was easier than cooking.

I am going to continue this thread until I get to my goal and I will do it. I started this journey on February 29, 2004 and it has been a rough ride and I realized the only time I really feel proud of myself is when I am doing what I know I need to do in order to be healthy and active.

Dale

I am thinking that maybe my last post was a little too serious. I will try to lighten up. I am feeling better about things now while I am only down one more pound since I last posted I know that some inches have come off because my clothes are looser. I went back over me measuresments from when I was at 171 and I have lost a total of 15 inches.

On Monday I start a 30 day herbal detoxification and cleansing program. I have been in a lot of pain and at first the doctor thought is was my gallbladder and than nothing appeared on the ultrasound (my kidneys were checked as well) So I did some research on the net and I found alot of evidence that indicates it could be my liver or another organ. The pain is better this week but always there. So I am going to try this and see if the pain subsides. I was warned that I could get really sick if I take any alcohal with the program and that is going to help me not drink (for at least thirty days anyway) I am hoping that by the time I am done the treatment I will be use to not having a drink and I won't want one so bad anymore (here's hopng)

As for my goals. I have been better on the water and I do walk to the subway every morning (even in the rain) so I am not doing so bad I think. Just got to keep it up and hopefully soon I will be able to post that I have reached my goal weight.

Just wanted to post to let you know we still support you.

I don't have a problem with alcohol, so can't give you first-hand advice. But my father does. When he was diagnosed as diabetic, he cut way down on drinking. He lost 40lbs. that way, without cutting very much else (including sugar... he was never a sugar fiend). Maybe his success story will motivate you a little bit.

I bet you could find some support on this board for issues with alcohol. There are so many people here, there have to be some in a similar situation. Since you've already been open about your issues here, maybe you could start a thread in the Support section. You could even generalize it. Something along the lines of "food-related addictions." That could include not only alcohol, but sugar, caffeine, salt, etc. If you open it up to all sorts of addictions, maybe you could get a big group together and support each other.

Down another pound and my BMI is no longer in the "overweight" category. I started out as Obese and now the same calculator states I am "normal" tis a good day!
