Wink A sad story

Ok, even though I said I was going to give it my all, I messed up again this weekend. I will not fail at this again!!! I refuse to fail!!

We went out to dinner last night and I wanted to go to TGIFriday’s for dinner, mainly because of their triple layer choco cake that I have been thinking about for days.

My dh was fine with my choice, so we went, it was me, the 2 kids and my dh. (This is a very sad story) I started out good, I ordered off of the Atkins menu that they have, and surprisingly enough, the Atkins menu is not all high fat choices, so with all good intention, I ordered chicken and veggies. But then it was time for desert, (here's the sad part ) I ordered the triple layer choco fudge cake, and wouldn’t you know it, they were out of it. How could this be!? It was really the only reason I wanted to eat there!!! The waiter mentioned the brownie hot fudge sundae instead and my daughter’s little ears perked right up (she’s 5), so we got that and started out sharing it, I took a couple of bites and it just wasn’t the same, my heart was set on that cake and nothing was going to be able to replace it. I guess it just really wasn’t meant for me to have. So, as I’m writing this, I’m realizing that I really didn’t too bad after all. I guess everything really does happen for a reason. Back on plan today!

Today's Menu so far:
breakfast - chicken salad, 1-1/2 tbs light mayo, 1 tsp craizins, 2 tbs sliced almonds, diet coke
snack - sf pudding
lunch - Panera Asian grilled chicken salad, whole grain bread, iced tea
snack - orange
dinner -
snack -

Default Monday is...

today is weigh-in for me--now at 174.5. Spiked up 1.5 lbs during last week due to my visiting company and parties--but have lost one lb--with a half to go--then I'll be back where I started earlier in the week. Such progress 1/2 lb between today and Tuesday and at least I meet my February weight-loss goal

I had a real treat for breakfast this a.m. A Thomas light english muffin with 1 TBS peanut butter and 1/2 tsp sugar free jelly. At least, since starting Phase 2, I am able to get my daily calorie count up to the 1200-1300 range--but still being real careful about the carbs I add back. I'm anxious to see if such a decadent breakfast will foil my progress.

Have a great Monday all!

Good Mornin', oh should I say afternoon,

I was soooo busy this morning at work, this is the first time I have been able to log on. So, it's late in the day and I'm just gonna say hi to everybody.

I've decided to get back OP!! I was a bit lax here lately. DH has decided not to do any diets, But what can you do, I told him that this is the way I am going to cook, if you don't like it you are going to fend for yourself. But he was ok w/ the dinners, he likes the food....it's just the snacking that I think he has a problem w/ he wants the little debbies and such things.

I'm glad to see new names, hope everybody is doing great and hopefully later in the week I'll have time to the online chickies!!!!

Ya'll take care

I am not Catholic so I don't know how your fast works, but Jews fast from sundown on the eve of Yom Kippur until the sundown the next day. So, it is a full 24 hours.

I have been on SBD during this time and have found that the enhanced "spiritual high" the day of Yom Kippur, coupled with the fact that I do not work or do anything strenuous, has kept me able to fast on this one day each year without any problems.

That being said, in our religion people with health issues that would be adversely affected by fasting are not expected to do so.

I did some research on the internet about how the Catholics define fasting for Ash Wednesday/Good Friday and it means having smaller than normal meals for two of the meals so that the two small meals are less than one normal meal. It says no snacking at all and then one normal sized meal where no meat is eaten.

My mom never did the fast because she was in poor health and Dad worked a strenuous job. I should be able to handle this for two days a year.

I just started phase one today and found this website while searching the net. I've never done any postings on the net...but after reading some of the entries maybe this is just what I need for my support and with hopes of supporting someone else. Until the next time....

Barb ~ I just got home from work and saw your question. On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, I usually have a light breakfast that will sustain me til lunch, such as yogurt and an apple, for lunch I have a big salad with tuna or some other fish, and supper is usually a veggie minestone with some cheese. I make sure I have no snacks in between, and absolutely no dessert, and that way I feel that I have pretty much fasted. Last year it was pretty rough, and I remember being hungry all day long, but that just reminded me what this season was all about.

Yeah, umm, my parents are a totally bad influence. I did SO WELL at Applebee's Saturday for DH's birthday lunch with his mom. Then, I went to church with Mom and Dad and they took me to D'Arcy's Pub (Irish heaven.) As I am an Irish girl, I had plenty of Irish food and drink (I said no to full-fat sour cream, though!) Then Sunday, my parents decided to take DH and me out for real Mexican food for his birthday. I'm not Mexican at all but I had to partake in Mexican food and drink, too. D'oh.

So today, I was so busy at work that I had my whole wheat english muffin with lite Laughing Cow for breakfast at 12:30. Had a miniature piece of chocolate for lunch at 3:00. Lady that subbed for me last week threw my water bottle away, so I haven't had any fluids yet today. D'oh.

I'm giving up chocolate for Lent. That means no chocolate until Easter, which is Terry and my 1 year anniversary being married. Ohhhhhhh boy. That's a long time. But, since I don't smoke anymore and I pretty much stick to Weight Watchers all the time, I thought chocolate would be a good thing to give up for Lent. Maybe my face will clear up in time for the wedding on March 25. I thought about giving up beer, but HAHAHAHAHAHA. No. My Irish holiday is coming up, plus a bachelorette party and a wedding that I have to be in. I told Misty and Luke that since I didn't drink a lot at my own wedding and they got smashed, I'm going to drink plenty at theirs (after all the important stuff is over.)

Went tanning today. They broiled me for seven whole minutes. If I show up tomorrow without any burns, they're going to bump me to ten! Hopefully I'll be nice and tan for the wedding.

Well, I need to eat, drink, and try to exercise some without killing my lungs. I have a pretty bad cough left over from my illness last week so I'm not going to do anything hardcore for awhile. I figure I'll work out at home tonight, play volleyball tomorrow and Wednesday, and try kick boxing Thursday. Hope you all have a great night!

Evening gals!!

I tried to post from school this morning when it was still managable to respond to everyone individually, but the server was too busy.

I am super beat on this Monday evening. DD has dance class on Mondays, so we don't get home until about 7:00. Then it is quick dinner and bathes. Whew! The baby is already crashed and the other goofball is up to her ears in a bubble bath.

Looking forward to Spring Break next week. I plan to try out some new recipes and get this booty in gear!

Not too sure what the scale is going to say tomorrow AM for my weekly and monthly weigh in. I am going to drink a ton of water tonight in hopes of flushing a bit of excess fluid on out of the body!!

Alright- off to scrub-a-dub-dub the grimy 4 year old ballerina!
