Hi everyone, love reading all your stories!

Welcome Stephanie, I'm new here too and find this forum sooo helpful. Hope my SB book comes today!! Starting up Jan 3 and am in the very fattening job of cleaning out my freezer -- making a batch of IKEA meatballs tonight to get them the heck out of there as the freezers gonna be my lifeline to keep me away from all the pizza/pasta/burritos I'll undoubtedly be making for those strange thin people I live with and supposedly am related to, aka, my DDs! At least they don't do a lot of snacking between meals so we don't have a lot of chips and stuff around her cuz those are a redlight food for me for sure...jalepeno chips in particular!

Yeah so this sauce for the meatballs is like, butter and sour cream based....GAK! Will try to eat very few, might even invite over the neighbors to finish them off....

ICE? Brrrrr....Well it's 78 degrees here in L.A. and I'm off to rake some leaves and prepare some beds for planting (lettuce, swiss chard and foxglove.) Hey at least you guys who live in winter wonderland climates get a break from gardening chores for a bit!

Glad to have you join us! Sounds like wonderful weather in Colorado today! It's supposed to be 44 and rainy here in Springfield, IL. Yuck. At least it's not C-O-L-D though.

These girls are really a supportive bunch, and you'll get to be friends with us very quickly. I personally lost 20 lbs on SBD, then gained some because I fell off the wagon, and now am on WW but they've allowed me to come around and hang out anyway.

Anywho, if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!
My mom is a total WW success story -- she counted the points, lost the 30 pounds, keeps counting the points, never regained the 30 pounds, I don't know WHY I have such a hard time on WW because she sure didn't.

I truly believe that everyone is different and has a different way of eating that would most benefit them....I'm starting to suspect that the glycemic index might just be an issue for me, as I've found that when I don't eat certain foods, I don't crave them, but when I do eat them, I seem to get hungrier. But def not an issue for my mom -- she eats a little of everything and has maintained stress-free for 6 years now.

btw my dad is from Springfield IL and I have cousins and aunts there too!

Hi everyone,

You know, I think my stomach is shrinking. I don't know if that is actually possible, but it sure feels like it. Today we ordered out for lunch and I got a tuna salad. It was medium size, but I was only able to finish half of it before i was absolutely stuffed. This is a good thing.

The new SDB Cookbook arrived yesterday. I haven't made any of the recipes yet but I did look through it and most of the look pretty good.

My New Year's weekend officially began at 3 pm. Yea!!

Ruth- lol at your dogs, mine is the same way. He always sleeps on someone’s bed when we’re not at home rather than his own and then when we get home he walks out of the bedroom like nothing happened Those yak traks are great too, I have a pair for work and they’ve saved my butt (literally) more than once, lol.

Schatzi- oh goodness, lol. I’m sure that little girl’s parent’s think you’re a very interesting woman. That’s too funny though.

Cottage- I guess my “resolution” is to lose weight as well, although that seems to be the resolution every year, lol, this year I’m actually planning on sticking to it.

2Bfit- I hope your father gets better soon and that the stress test goes well for him. I’m with you on the holiday goodies, I brought most of them to work with me. Zookeepers will eat whatever you put in front of them, as long as it’s free :-p Your new neighbors sound interesting. I’m not sure if I’d slaughter pigs in my back yard, but more power to them I guess (?)

Amycue- I’m with you on the short term goals. I feel it’s easier to make little steps (and I stay better focused!) when I can reach a certain thing sooner. I hope you feel better soon and you kick that cold!

Rnmom, Tammy, Weezle - Happy new year  Hope it’s a good one.

Barb0522- Great job on the weight loss! That’s definitely a good inspiration for me to read since I’ll be starting phase one soon.

Stephie- Welcome! You and I are going to be starting about the same time. Good luck!

K8-eee- I totally know what you mean! My sister is a rail! And I’m so jealous that you’re in 78 degree weather. It’s 31 here today, which isn’t too bad, until you’re outside in it all day!

ElisabethCK- Hope you have a happy new year!

Well as for me, I was going to post this morning, but it was crazy just trying to get out the door on time for work. Hit the snooze button too many times, lol.
Yesterday was kind of crappy because we ended up euthanizing the rabbit at work. He’s had some medical issues for quite a while now, and I’ve been the main person taking care of him. I totally agree with the euthanation because the problems have been going on for so long that the chances of him overcoming it and staying well at this point were little to nothing, and I definitely didn’t want him to be in pain anymore than he had to be. But after trying to save him for so long, it just sucks because I feel like I failed him. Thankfully today was better though. My bf is coming here tonight!! Yay! So excited for that. We do the long distance thing because he’s still in college, but he’s spending New Year’s with me which I’m very happy about. Well I probably won’t post for the few days that he’s here because I want to spend as much time with him as I can, but I hope every one has a safe and happy New Year’s! See you in 2006!!

Just a quick driveby as I have to leave soon to pick up DH. I hadn't said hello for a few days, so I thought I should pop in - I have been reading when I can, though. No special plans for New Years, except to stay up and see the new year in. I don't do New Year's resolutions myself; if I need to change something, I just do it - I don't wait for a holiday. DH is pretty much the same way, too.

DS and I have been really exhausted, so we just kicked back and rested today - we watched some anime and "The Princess Bride", and DS napped a few times. I'll make an easy dinner and try to get us all to bed early. Classes start next Wednesday, so I need to rest up while I can!

Have a good evening, chicks - and a happy New Year if I don't get back before then!
