How much of an impact do carrots have on P1?
The reason for this question is that I buy the big bags of frozen veggies at Sam's and it has carrots in it. I tried not eating them for a few days, but it seemed like such a waste for a big bag like that.
Other than the carrots, everything is P1. (although I slipped at lunch today, didnt wake up in enough time to make lunch, )
I inadvertantly ate carrots like that during P1. So long as you don't ingest a truckload of them, you should be okay. I think I still lost 11 lbs. during the first couple of weeks.
I know what you mean - I love carrots, too - especially raw! But they are both sugary and starchy, which is why one is supposed to avoid them in ph1. I got a few shreds in some salad mix towards the end, but not a lot. Can you use a different veggie mix til you're done with ph1? Or save the carrots in the freezer until then?
So, I'm looking at the SBD book - and in the Recipe Section for Phase1 Recipes, they use carrots (or at least they do on Page 150) - And, I thought I saw a post that said carrots are now OK? I'm so confused - Are carrots good or bad on the SBD plan?
Carrots are allowed in Phase II. Some of the recipes in the book use them but it should be in very small amounts for Phase I. Dr A did not write the recipes in the book and there are a few goofs!
