Just a quick one for me. I didn't exercise yesterday but I'm not going to kick about it. Just too busy with football and 1st day of school. No excuses today though. Did I mention that the football coach appears to be single and is very good looking in that macho jock kind of way?
I'll peck back in later - everyone seems to need me right now.
ITS RAINING and its coming down hard,Good for my flowers & tomato plants, but not good for my walking.Proud to say that I ot my exercising up to 80 mins a day from my original 30 Mins in the beginning of this year.
Little Chicks-Thanks for starting us up,but this morning Iran our of tea so I will have to rely on my coffee
Kiko-I did great with my Aug Challenge lost 3 lbs,1 lb more that the challenge and exercising as I posted above I'm up to 80 mins per day.Hope this tend continues into next mouth
Schatzi-Thanks for the mixture, I love all kinds of birds but the humming birds are my favorite.Don't know if they come up this far in New Engand .I'm a pistashio nut also I love them and have to count 30 and that all for 1 setting. Your made my laugh & made my day .I can imagine that happening to me.
Have go running late so I ge back and read the rest of this thread
Good morning!
Schatzi - girl you are too funny. I too have given myself a fat exam, but thankfully I have never been caught! I had tears in my eyes.....I feel for you, but I am also having a good laugh!
To every one else....what can I say? Good morning & have a great OP day & if you insist on doing a fat exam, make sure your doors are locked!
Some of you are probably about on "good afternoon" but here in the West we're just startin' the day. Yep, the 14 year old daughter is finally off to school. Oh, the trauma of a pimple................ I'm far too old to be doing this again. I was only 34 when I was was dealing with a teenage daughter the first time (boys were a breeze) but now I'm 47 and yeesh, the tolerance level for the screaming, crying, bad hair days is at an all time zilch!!! I do a double-eye rollover and leave the room.
Anyway, Schatzi, wow I didn't realize that the things were called "shelving units". I feel so much more useful now. Thanks!
Anchor, I'm not exercising today either....the wind is hurricane force here in the mountains of Idaho and I'm not in the mood to try to fight it....I know I'm a baby.
Mama, you take care of yourself. My daughter called and said that this is giving you guys a run for your money though.
kyemom, I think fiber is a good thing.....wouldn't want to live your life in the bathroom though.
Barb, ya, hidden sugar everywhere you go. I didn't think I had misbehaved as badly as I had, but after 3 days on phase 1 I was rewarded with the worst headache all day yesterday.....the sugar detox headache. You would think I would learn.
Sweet tea, yes alone mommy time is heaven. Get yourself back on the top of the totum pole and take care of you!
Ruth, sounds like your life is settling into a bit of a routine....sleeping in until 0600......you may be accused of being lazy bones.
Well, I need to run and see what miracles I can do to myself to not look like an old lady going to college. First day of class today.........my stomach is in knots.
Tomorrow we take our son to the airport so he can fly to Ft. McClellen in Alabama. He flies into Atlanta. I wonder if there is any of that part of the country left???? My prayers are with you over there on the coastlines!
OMG, I almost spit out *MY* eggs this morning - Schatzi, your story was just hysterical! Thank you for sharing. I have a very similar relationship with my "twins" & wonder how this diet will affect them. I couldn't imagine anyone else (especially a random neighbor kid) participating. And, how cool is her Mom? Kids just make life so interesting.
So, lots of colds/crud goin' around. For the big and wee chickies! I hope that the bugs that are going around don't last for long.
Hey Mamacita - my mom is a phlebotimist (sp?), I have heard her stories of the many draws. And, the older folks are harder to stick, aren't they? Anyway, I hope that things quiet down for you at work.
DJETT - so sorry to hear about your FIL - I hope that he's doing ok. That sure must have shaken him up. And, a broken coller bone? Poor wee thing. I can imagine how that would throw you OP. Hope today is better.
RuthXXX - Eastside Marios sounds really fun. Have a nice time.
I'm doing really great this morning. Feel really confident about staying OP. I chose unsweetened iced tea last night vs. chilled white wine. I plan to check the scale again before the big camping trip (say, Friday morning) and I'm hoping to be down to 150 (down 2 lbs) - but, we'll see. Good motivation, though. I went to Spinning class last night - the stereo system is down & has been for the past 2 weeks - bummer, b/c the music really gets you motivated.
Taco Bake sounds delish & I think I'll make it tonight!! BTW, thanks to whomever it was that recommenede the peanut butter cup thingie - YUM!!
Well, Good Morning all! I know, I am a late riser. I get up at 4:30am with hubby and get him off to work and then go back to bed for a while. I am setting my alarm now so I don't sleep until noon!!!
Have stayed OP for four whole days now!! Down 7.5 pounds!! Yippee!
Shatzi - OMG!!!! You are so funny!! I loved the description of the FLABTABS!! Also as for portion control on pistachios. I am bad witht the roasted garbanzo beans too.
LC - no tea bags in the water. Been there done that!!!
2BFIT - Glad you did okay in the storm. Scary for those down south!
Mama - Glad you are okay too. Hope today goes okay. I hate tornado warnings!!!
Ruth - Stay strong at the restaurant tonight! You can do it!
Sweet Tea - Exercise is the key! Ha, I hate exercise. Easier said than done!
Djett - Sometimes circumstances come up and we just can't help going off program. Just as long as you jumped back on and keep trying. Glad your FIL is okay. That is just sad!
Kyemom - Hubby made dinner?!?!?! Lucky you, I can't even imagine! As for the fiber, I take 2-4 a day.
Barb - Amazing what you have to watch for sugar. You can't even be sick and not worry about errant sugar!!!
Beach Bum - WTG on the excercise!! You are doing great!
Whew, that mentioning everyone by name is tough. I had to get a piece of paper and make notes! If I missed anyone, hope you are doing well and keep going!!
I'm so very sorry to do such a quick fly-by! I used to dream about being home all day like Ruth, but I find that I'm just as busy as she is! Who knew?
Schatzi, you poor thing! What a mess! I would have been so embarrassed...but it is quite funny now that it's over, I assume. I'm glad I'm not the only one with wandering neighbor kids. Why don't their parents teach them to stay out of people's houses? I do the same fat check...and I have the same flaps. I saw a card the other day that said, "When did my 36C...become a 32 Long?" So true!
Me:
Hit the gym and did the recumbent bike. Hurt my knees a little, but more of that 'strengthening the muscles' hurt than real pain. Read Glamour magazine...it had some great tips on ways to get you to go to the gym. One of them was a woman who, like Ellis, hates being seen buying gossip or fashion mags. She lets herself read them only at the gym, so she goes often! Another doesn't have A/C at home but has it at the gym, so she's motivated to go. Another says she and her husband have a deal...whoever spends more time at the gym that week gets to pick the movie for the weekend. She said he's tired of watching chick flicks but doesn't dare complain. One gives herself 10 mins in the steam room if she does 30 mins of exercise. Interesting ideas!
I'm off to go clean my bedroom. Piles of clothes and things up to my armpits, boxes of cosmetics I've never worn (moved here 6 years ago), dust so thick you could stand a pencil up in it, etc. It's not going to be fun, I tell ya!
Have a great day, chickies! Stay safe and dry, okay?
HA HA BACK! Your replies made me laugh... I didnt realize how funnie it all would sound...so much for my stream of consciousness writing style ...anyhoooo
let me clarify a few things..
Lovely Kendra was invited in the house by DH..who called out to me..and I said.."be right there".. I guess Kendra followed the voice and .... well u know the results of that ! Who knows if she knew it was a bathroom...but, seeing how her momma (Deanne) came into our house the night before... followed me to the kitchen... and as I got the celery out of the fridge.. she proceeded to rip a stalk off..I can see how Kendra can make her self right at home...! It takes A LOT for me to get offended, put off, p*ssed, and what not... so I just took it all in... ... afterall this was the neighbor whose husband sent over a handtruck and offered up Gumbo upon our arrival...AND WHO BROUGHT ME THE MOST ABCDE licious male chocochip cookies I have EVER had...sheesh, can't be that bad eh?
Didn't have time to pack a lunch this morning, though. It's "Picture Day" at school, so I had to get all dolled up and got all the way to school and realized I left my school keys in Terry's car because I've been driving it the last few weeks. SO, I turned all the way around and went home and was 30 minutes late.
So, looks like a handful of nuts and a piece of cheese is it, for now. I'll pig out on veggies when I get home tonight. And I can't wait to have a low sodium V8 with olives thingy. That's an awesome way to get your veggies.
I may try the taco bake with fake ground burger. Some things turn out really well, but then other things don't reheat well, so we'll give it a shot.
Working on my water today. I haven't been getting my water for the last 2 weeks Bad weezle.
oy ... right now i hate living on the west coast. By the time I wake up and can check this chat there are at least two pages of reading. oy.
was really really good yesterday on my first day back on phase one. got home after a job interview and cooked about 3 dishes, coconut bean soup, lime and ginger tofu and bean and jicama salad. if i can keep up this momentum i'll be good.
i am going to have to struggle i reailze though. because i don't sleep much (usually 3 -4 hours a night) i find i get quite hungry at about 1 am. I try to resist eating but then it just makes it that much harder to sleep. i'm actually going to a dr.s tonite to ask for a referal to a sleep disorders clinic. hopefully if i can start to sleep better i can get healthier and lose weight better.
Hey ladies. Well, I have been down on myself lately. I have the worst willpower ever; I can't stick to Phase I. I know it's good for me and it would make me healthy. I just can't get past even day 3. Grr, I've just been so frustrated. I have a physical the 29th of September and I know my doctor will say all the things I have heard before: "You need to lose weight," "Your cholesterol is no good," and so on. But I can't ever stick to anything. It's so frustrating.
Sorry to vent! I just get so upset. I hope everyone is doing well.
P.s. I have a quick question: Worcester Sauce is allowed on all phases but mine and many I looked at have molasses and corn syrup in them, are they still okay?
Gryffgirl- I am so sorry that you are feeling that way. Do you think that you are eating enough? Have you tried some of the yummy recipes on here? Are you making sure to get your desserts in? Are you drinking enough water? Maybe you could post a sample menu of what you are eating on phase 1. I found that SF gum helped me get through a lot of cravings on phase 1. My problem was that I was eating out of boredom most of the time. I was just mindlessly popping things into my mouth.
You will get to the point eventually where you just know that you can't eat the way that you have been eating. Good luck!
