LC, what color are you painting DD's room? Is this the same DD that you painted the dresser for last summer? We're going to be painting our pantry next week and I can't decide if I want it yellow so it's bright and cheery or sage green so it'll match the walls in the family room. Hope you have great fun while the kiddos are away and actually take some time for you! Every chick needs at least an hour with a romance novel, some dark chocolate, and a glass of red wine, while on a lounge chair or in a bubble bath!

Jen, we are supposed to eat every 3 hours on SBD, so you're doing the right thing! As Dr. A says, it's a lot easier to stave off a blood sugar dip than to deal with one after it happens. When my blood sugar gets low, I turn into Cookie Monster... "ME WANT COOKIE!!!!" You get the picture. I find that setting a goal in the exercise thread and posting there every day really gets me motivated. It's a bummer to have to put "didn't do anything today" when you read all the activity that everyone else has been up to! In the summer, there are so many fun activities to do outside...maybe that will motivate you? Also, exercising with a friend is good for both of you and keeps you going.

Kye, I know plateaus can be frustrating, but when you get out of it, you're sure to have a WOOSH! of pounds all falling off at once and it'll even out in the end. Just be patient, stay OP, and try varying the types of exercise you do, when you exercise, when you eat, and what you eat. Don't go off plan, but change things up a little. And make sure you're getting your water. In time it'll resolve itself. I find the Metamucil capsules to be easiest, but they can cause gas. I've found that taking a stool softener each day has been the best way to deal with the constipation issues. Exercise and lots of water help too.

Ooh, I love the term "celebrate"! That's great, Weezle!

KO, you are so right about the beans! Lots of beans, Kye! KO, doesn't it crack you up when you look down after a celebration <cough, cough> and think, "Wow, that must weigh at least a pound!" and it does!

Healthy, being tired on Phase 1 is pretty normal. Many people stop exercising altogether during it. I think it's great that you are continuing to exercise, but take it easy. NO spinning, for goodness sakes! Just be gentle with yourself for the next couple weeks and start back into your more vigorous exercises when you start Phase 2. Make sure you are getting good carbs (beans, bell peppers, tomatoes) in Phase 1 and drink lots of water. Being dehydrated makes you tired and soda actually makes you more dehydrated, so it's great that you are easing up on the soda.

Phins, I love the new avatar, but am sad to hear about how things are going right now. I know you can do this! Maybe you need to spend some time thinking about what's keeping you from getting back OP, then figure out a plan to deal with it. Right now, I'm flirting with ONEderland...and every time I get there, I overeat and pop back up. I think I have issues with being in that weight range for some reason. It's on the top of my list of things to discuss with my therapist. After all, I'd have to be crazy not to be in ONEderland, right? I hope you figure things out, hon. Until then, we're here to help motivate you!

BB, the tuna salad sounds delish! I know what you mean about the soup...it works because it hydrates you, the veggies take a while to digest, and it fills you up so you eat less during meals. Just make sure that what you do eat is quality lean protein and not just good carbs...otherwise you'll lose muscle. Benefiber is easier to take, but only Metamucil (and products made of the same ingredients) helps with cholesterol issues. Congrats on the blood test results!

Ruth, it's gorgeous here too! Just the right day to have washing out on the line! I hope Lucy figures it's worth it...those puppies were darling! You make me laugh, hon--I like your silly moods!

Jenn, I am SO jealous of your trip to Maine! Is this your first time? This isn't for your wedding, right, just a trip to see the in-laws-to-be? Enjoy the time off and have a blast with HB. How fun will it be to show off your rings?

Me:
Well, my therapist forgot to write me down in the book for today...so I got to my appt. and found out that we had to move it to Friday. No worries, but I was all dressed up, so I just don't feel like changing and going to work in the garden, then taking another shower! I think I might go up to a nearby town by the lake and investigate a little bookstore/coffee shop they have there. It sounds adorable.

I did the "Totally Pumped" class this morning again. It's amazing! We did so many squats, lunges, and amazing ab exercises...all with weights! I felt like a goddess when I finished, but I was ready to scream in pain during it! I joined our local gym now that I'm done at the college and can't use theirs anymore. It's nice to have classes as an option!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Well, I'm on to day 3 now. Yesterday DH and I felt really blah and cranky and headachy. I haven't talked with DH since he left for work, but my headache is getting better and I feel less fatigued (still kind of worn out, though).

Made a really nummy soup for dinner last night (I posted the recipe if anyone is interested), and had leftovers for bfast and probably will finish it off at lunch. It's cold and rainy at my house (****-oooo Washington!), so soup is perfect right now.

Little Chick - My goodness! Do you ever get to sit down?

Jeanette - I'm in the same boat. I need to exercise, but I have a lot of problems with my joints, a bad back, and asthma - plus I hate water! So not too many options. I'm thinking of getting a dvd for either pilates or tai chi to do at home. Something gentle that I can do without having to pack up and go somewhere.

Kyemom - I think Dr. Agatston recommended that 15 minutes before a meal, didn't he? As an aid to losing weight?

KO - have a good day!

healthy4good - DH and I are feeling the same way so it's not just TOM! I think it's carb withdrawal.

phinsup - If you are short on time, what about hardboiled eggs? You could boil them up and peel them on Sunday night, and eat them cold for breakfast.

beach bum - what's back in your sink? Ants? Try baiting them - mix a little Borax with a spoonful of sugar and pour it out where they will find it - they'll carry the Borax back to the hill along with this sugar, and the Borax will kill the whole hill. Congrats on your bloodwork, too!

Ruthxxx - sounds like a lovely day! Good luck with Lucy!

Jenn - don't wear yourself out before your trip! How long will you be in Maine?

katiegirl - I haven't heard that. It's just dietary fiber, so I don't see how it could be bad for you unless you use a lot of it or if you have diverticulitis or something. Recommendations for dosages should be on the container.

beachgal - that sounds like fun! I adore bookstores!

EVeryone have a happy "hump" day!

Hi, everyone! Today was my weekly weigh-in and I am back down to what I was before I went on vacation. I'm hoping to make it to the gym today. I was there on Monday and should be able to make it today as long as I don't get stuck at work. I want to get in some exercises on my arms/upper body before Pain in the Butt class. I'm now doing that class with 20lbs of weights on my weight bar but the class doesn't work the upper body.

I use the SF orange metamucil every morning with breakfast and sometimes with dinner. Dr A does say to take it before a meal but I end up drinking it with the meal.

Hello all. I'm about to faint. I worked at job 1 13 hours yesterday, and 10 hours today. And I'm never going to be done. AAAGGHHH. I fell off the wagon last night. Our "social" night out ended with me eating all kinds of things that I'm not going to type because someone will just *** it out.

Because of it, I had a nice "celebration" this morning. I'm back on today, of course, but haven't eaten much because I haven't had a whole lot of time. I'm about to make dinner, and then I suppose I'll have to do the dishes before my husband gets home.

This just goes to prove that I am an emotional eater. I want to fall off the wagon again tonight, but I'm not. I want a food that comes from Ireland more than you can imagine. Or anything on these commercials on TV. Something that delivers. Mmmmm.

I'm not though. I'm going to go have some mexican casserole stuff, and some water. And probably a virgin bloody mary with olives.

Take care chickies.
