Default I got my towel/sunscreen I'm READY!!

Hello everyone! I'm new to this thread and to SBD. I read the book a few days ago and found it very interesting.
Here's a bit about myself. I'm 41 (just turned) I lost 40lbs on WW Pure Points Software. Then I gain 16 or 17 back. Scale would play games with me. I am now in the process of trying to get things under control. I started SBD Phase 1 yesterday. I'm also using my WW Pure Points Software. It has a journal, calculator for figuring pts and some other things I find very useful. I found out yesterday that my WW allowed points and SBD food will go hand in hand. I'm actually doing SBD but keeping an eye that I don't go over my points which doesn't seem to be a problem following the SBD lifestyle. (I think at this moment the WW Software is my security blanket.) I think I let sugar and bad carbs play to much of a roll on my WW plan. SBD will help me to make better choices.

I want to thank you all for the wonderful recipes! I'm finding them so helpful!

Welcome to The BEach, Memerize! Please refer to the FAQ Section for the most current food lists as the book is out of date in some ways. Yes, SBD works well with WW Points.

Hi Mez, I tried the points version of WW and only lost 1 pound the first week and then gained a couple from there. I was addicted to carbs and a lot of the low fat foods they promote are carb heavy. I definately think I'm carb senstive so I doubt WW would work for me. Their core program is similar to SBD, I thought. And I did think about doing exactly what you're doing with the points while eating only SBD foods. But tracking bugged me so I dropped that idea. Good luck!

Welcome! I found that with WW, I lost maybe 3-5 pounds and could hold steady just fine, but couldn't quite get over the hump and start losing again. I know I sound like a broken record, but South Beach is my kick in the pants. It's what gets me going.

Good luck to you!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Nittany - On weight watchers I lost really really slow. I averaged 5 lbs a month and that was with WATP 1, 2, 3, Miles DVD about 6 days a week. I believe it was the carbs that were limiting my sucess. I guess only time will tell. I been on WW only for 2weeks and didn't see a loss. I was bad 2 days so that might be why. I hope to see a loss after a week of using both on day 2 of SBD. I feel really good about it.
