Thought I would hop in here and post my exercise goals for May. I'm not able to do much until about the middle of June, but I decided that I would do an upper body workout regularly and quiet walks. The dr. told me that I could walk but not actually workout. I decided to design my own to keep me a bit in shape, anyway.

Total to date: 345 minutes

May 1 - 45 minute upper body workout
May 2 - 45 minute upper body workout
May 3 - Not feeling well, so pretty much slept the day away.
May 4 - Not feeling well, so pretty much slept the day away.
May 5 - Not feeling well, so pretty much slept the day away.
May 6 - 30 minute walk; 45 minute upper body workout
May 7 - 0
May 8 - 0
May 9 - 0
May 10 - 45 minute walk with dogs
May 11 - 0
May 12 - 45 minute walk
May 13 - 45 minute walk
May 14 - 45 minute walk
May 15 - 0
May 16 - 0
May 17 - 0
May 18 - 0
May 19 -

There isn't too much exercise talk! Hmmm... Well I had to post this somewhere. My May exercise goal is to get myself ready for the Freihofer Run for Women on June 4. It's an annual 5K race that I have wanted to do for years. Today my friend and I ran. I made it 2.5 miles jogging, then walked about .5 then ran .25 then walked the final .25 miles. I think I might be able to run the whole 3.2 miles by June 4th. Even if I can't I'll run most of it.

The cool thing about this diet is after running I didn't feel light headed. Years ago I would have thought oh I better have a carb or sugar after becasue my blood sugar is low (and likely it was like 60). Now, I'm not feeling that way even after running! I'm really pleased with how good I feel.

Sounds like you are doing great at getting prepared, Sandi! I'm doing the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure the same day. It is a 5K as well. When I did the Dallas one last October, I jogged and walked and ended up finishing in just under an hour. Congratulations on your progress!
