Default New to the Beach

I started this last week. So far it hasn't been so bad. I have a hard time giving up the sugar. I just need something sweet!!

I weighed this morning and have lost 3 pounds. I know it is all water, but it is at least a start.

I am a single mom of 4 kiddos(14, 12, 8-twins). I also teach full-time so needless to say there isn't much time left for me. I am so looking forward to seeing a new me in the coming months!!!

My problem is finding and making the time to exercise. I am going to make myself walk today when I get home from school.

Any suggestion on how I can be successful would be great!!

You are doing great! My best friend had trouble with the sugar thing too, but she is doing much better after passing week 4. You really do lose the cravings for things. I have a hard time incorporating carbs, I have to push myself and I am in the third week.

I haven't been exercising either, I gave myself a 4 week ultimatum, so I guess I only have a couple of days left to procrastinate. I plan on turning on MTV Classic and dancing to "We Are the 80's" for about half an hour and doing my Gazelle.

Make it fun or you won't stick to it. But don't stop, you are doing a great job.

I always think about things this way...I go on some diet and then I quit and then like six months later I think, "Man, I could have really taken some serious weight off in six months". That is why I like SBD, it is so painless and I don't feel punished or like I have to give up everything. You can make anything lower carb.

The Possibilities are Endless!!!

BHTeach welcome! I think you'll have a lot to talk about with Kiko (Karen)...she's a teacher also, and mother of one and one on the way. She doesn't get a chance to check in much when she's teaching, but she's a doll and a great resource.

I know it's hard to chug water when you don't get much chance for potty breaks, but that's a great thing to do in class. Let all the other teachers know that you are doing SBD, and fill them in on what you can eat and what you can't, so they can help you stay on track. Avoid the lunch room spreads if you can...eat in your room with friends when you know there's a spread in there! Let your kids know that you're doing SBD, and can't eat candy. Don't eat what they give you! Don't give in to those temptations, and you'll do fine!

Some ways to deal with the sweet cravings: SF hard candy, SF Jell-o, No Sugar Added Creamsicles, No Sugar Added Fudgesicles (mix a slightly melted fudgesicle with 2 Tbsp of natural PB and 2 Tbsp of Cool Whip Free for a decadent PB cup dessert... ), make coleslaw (there's a recipe for the overnight coleslaw in the forums) or 3 bean salad.

You can do this...after 3 to 5 days, you'll find the cravings are gone!!!

Big Congrats to you bhteach on your 3 lbs. gone

If you don't have time to exercise just March in Place, or do some weight lifting while watching T.V.

Hugs BB

Default Thanks for the support!!

Thank you all for the welcome and support. It is so appreciated. The sugar craving is getting better. Is it normal to have my appetite drop off. The last 2 days I just haven't been hungry. I guess I shouldn't complain, right!!
I'm down another 2 pounds!!!!! This way of eating is SO easy and getting easier
