I second the Pinot Noir choice, especially for those who "are not red wine drinkers". It's a very delicate red with a hint of fruit~not too dry and not too sweet. You can get good prices at CostCo, Sams Club, etc.

I've just recently subscribed to Fine Cooking and Food & Wine Magazines in the hopes to learn more about different wines and good recipies. They both have websites with lots of info on both for free.
