Morning Chickies

No scale movement for me this am not sure if it was the way stacked up yesterday or all the pistachios last week. Yesterday I had breakfast late - after working out. Then didn't eat again until 6 pm - I had a bowl of chili and salad and then some ricotta with cocoa powder. Definitely not enough water, yesterday either. I had to go two hours up north to retrieve DS from my X's cabin. Deer season for rifles starts this am and that is no place for a little boy to be.

I'll do better this this week on the diet.

Little chick - I'm almost done except for DS. He is 7 and I think he may be on the edge of not believing in Santa so he didn't do a list until last night. Everyone else is done.

A Broad - London Broil yummy! No wonder DH was poking around. I ate chili and pea soup this weekend.

Mama - I'm with ya on the late eating thing. I ate too late last night and I'm pretty sure that screwed up my weigh in this am.

Cac and Cacmsc - I thought you guys were the same. I must not be the brightest bulb this Monday morning.

Bami - you just go everywhere! Your family must be really tight. I hope you drive a car that gets good gas mileage!

Everyone else! I have to go get a cup of green tea! Have a great beach day!

Morning, Chickies!

LC, it sounds like you have some great plans in place for the holidays! I have almost no shopping done, although I did get my Christmas cards yesterday...much earlier than I normally would have, because we'll be out of town for a while. I'm hoping to get most of our gifts in Europe to make them unique and special. If not, I'll be doing some scrambling to get gifts ready in time! Are you in Nova Scotia or PEI or such (time change)?

A broad, DH and I have a love hate relationship with leftovers! He eats a lot of the things I want and leaves a lot of the things I shouldn't have! I really need to institute some sort of post-it note system or something! I only eat starch once a day, so starchy leftovers are all his, which I think he's finally figured out. Hope the steak was good, at least!

Mama, I don't think that's weird! Many other cultures eat that way. In Mexico, we had a big breakfast, a huge lunch with four courses, and a tiny dinner, if anything. I felt healthier there than I ever had (before I started SBD!).

Ruth, you have butt warmers! Those are so fun! Sorry about the recall, though...do they have to keep the car for very long? Hope the loaner is nice! Enjoy breakfast out, hope DH's doctor visit goes well. How's your knee?

cac, sounds like a great weekend! Did you make WW waffles? DH made them two weeks ago and though they were pretty dense, they were really good!

cacmsc: welcome to another New Yorker!

Bamie, enjoy the time with your MIL...sounds fun!

Kim, the pork sounds delicious! Congrats on the weight loss!!!

rugrats, no fair! It was 26 degrees down here in the finger lakes...you guys are supposed to get the cold weather! Brrrrr.....

Sil, it's so good to see you!!! Are you a doctor? Didn't realize you worked with patients. That dishwasher sounds wonderful! And congrats on the 2 pounds!

SKHerb, I know...but your day sounds dreamy! I cannot wait to be a SAHM! Enjoy and hope the doctor's visit goes well and isn't for anything serious!

Me:

Oy! I had a very unhealthy weekend as to my actions, not my food. I stayed up so late each night, struggling to finish my homework. I'm trying to get a ton done before we leave for Europe...only have two weeks left in the term once we get back, and I don't want to have to rush to get everything done then. I'm just exhausted, and I think I'm fighting off a cold.

With DH out of town all weekend, I had double duty with pets and just needed a nap! So I didn't get my yoga/pilates done (and I love that! ) and I didn't go to the gym this morning. I can't go to jazzercise tonight because I have a workshop to present with a student from our office. Then I have a writing assessment at home with my case study. Hopefully after that I can work on writing up the assessment I did yesterday with my other case study so I can turn that in before I leave on Thursday.

I'm just trying to be as gentle as I can with my body because I sure as heck don't want to be sick in Europe!!! But I hate not exercising, especially when I know I'll get very little exercise on the vacation. We're staying in budget hotels, so no gym. Lots of walking, but no weights. Oh well.. I'm definitely starting to get excited about the trip, though!

We're having sliced flank steak sandwiches for dinner tonight. Should be really good! I forgot to weigh in this morning...it's odd when I do that. Maybe tomorrow will be better? I've been bouncing around in between 230 and 232 for the last two weeks with no movement. Either Europe is going to make this a great month for weight loss, or a really bad one. I'm hoping it's the former!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning, everyone! Work has been busy so this is my first chance to post. I've been steady for the last three days after losing 2 1/2 pounds this month. That is fine with me. TOM should start today so I'll be happy to make it through without gaining. I did make it to the gym yesterday but probably won't today.

Eating was good this weekend. Last night I made meatloaf (phase 2) and tried a recipe that I got off of Food Network. I blanched fresh brussel sprouts (cut in half) while cooking some turkey bacon (they used panchetta) and a little garlic. Then I added the brussel sprouts to the bacon and sauted them for a few minutes and then added some chicken broth and let them finish cooking. DH said they were much better than frozen brussel sprouts so I imagine I'll make them again. I just need to remember to put an X in the stem of the large sprouts so the stems cook. If anyone is interested, I'll post the recipe.

Tonight I am making Peking Pasta (WW spaghetti over chicken that's been marinated with ginger and other tasty stuff - I use SF maple syrup and artificial brown sugar instead of the honey called for originally) and I'm going to try a ginger flavored asparagus dish that I got out of the cookbook. I was able to get some nice looking fresh asparagus so I figured I'd try it. I've got lots of yummy stuff planned this week. I guess the cool weather makes me more in the mood to cook.

Jenn - Welcome back! Sorry you don't feel good. Maybe some chicken soup with WW noodles would help?

Good morning everyone!

Its a cool, damp morning here. I am on my 1st cup of coffee...trying to wake up a little more . I spent the whole weekend at home with DH, just being lazy. I hope we get out more next weekend. I am more social than he is. We do have a large age gap, so that could make a difference, too. He's 15 years older than me. I packed us both a healthy South Beach breakfast and lunch to take to work. Hard boiled eggs, turkey bacon and for lunch leftover baked chicken with veggies. He says he feels better after a week. His tummy does look smaller! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Default Time to get REAL!

OK, work was the pits all weekend and we had a potluck dinner yesterday. Let me just say I was very bad. In fact, after redoing phase 1 and doing well, I feel off the wagon for the past two weeks after redoing phase 1. What an idiot!
The holidays are around the corner and that's a time of weight gain for me, I'm a little scared that I'm going to blow all the hard work I've done since January. So, no more bad business for me. I will enjoy Thanksgiving dinner and I will enjoy Christmas Eve dinner. I will NOT ruin my success of the last year!

Unfortunately I'll "fix" my signature to reflect how bad I've been. I also am going to turn back into a scale ho.....ho ho ho! I've been away from it for two weeks and for me I need to weigh everyday. I rationalize way too easy.

Anyway, I need to be better.

For those of you who have their shopping done, will you do mine for me?????

Good to "see" you Jenne, get feeling better.

Hi everyone. I'm back. It has been a hectic weekend. We went to check out the apartment that we bought and spent the weekend there...on an air mattress.

We will be renting it out in Feb. or March, so we don't want to cart too much furniture there that will need to be moved home...first, though, it goes up 5 flights of stairs, then has to be carted down 5 flights of stairs. Hmmmm, wonder if that can be counted for exercise?

We took our dog with us this weekend - we presently live on an acreage, so living in an apartment has been quite a change for her. At the beginning of the weekend, she whined and cried when we left. We even heard her barking when we were outside on the street. By the end of the weekend, she was fine being left by herself and was even pulling us on a walk around the block every time she needed to go out - somehow she needed to go out very frequently which included 5 flights of stairs down, a walk around the block and 5 flights of stairs up. When we do finally move in, we can be promised a lot of exercise to go with it.

On the food note, I did very poorly. But, I am not sorry. We went out for Greek food on Friday night and ate everything that I wanted. Then yesterday, had a birthday party for DM. Yup - had potatoes AND cake. Well, I am up 3.2 pounds today, but will be down again by the end of the week following Phase 1. It was worth every bite.

Hope everyone has a great day. Talk to all soon.
