What an exhausting weekend! Had a blast, but glad this only happens once in a while. I feel like I need another weekend to recover!
After my daytrip to Asheville, I turned around and went to my guild meeting yesterday. Got some help learning how to make the heels for the socks I'm knitting. Yay!!
After, I stopped at the Farmers market and bought some groceries. Made whole grain pasta with a fresh pomodoro sauce and Caesar salad for dinner.
A friend who's doing the Curves plan gave me a recipe which looks scarily familiar: She dices up zucchini, onion, garlic, and eggplant, then saute's it in EVOO, adds diced cooked chicken breast, then drizzles balsamic vinaigrette over the top. I've got to try it, so I picked up the veggies for that, too.
Good morning, Mamacita and Bamie. Thanks to both of you for starting us up.
I woke a few times duting the night but convinced my brain to turn off, I woke up just a few minutes ago when Steve, the guy next door, started his car! The time changes this Saturday night and I'll be all screwed up again!
We had a terrible rehearsal yesterday afternoon! Luckily the Press guy came before we started, took a couple of posed pictures and then left. Barney, the lead male, has laryngitis! We rehearsed anyhow with him just going through the motions and the Director reading his lines. This really threw me off and I looked as if I did not know any of my lines! Obviously I don't know them well enough so I'll have to work very hard this week.
Craig, one of the lads, brought me a huge order of wood - 3 cords - and is sending over one of his "youg lads" to stack it for me today. "Lads" are over thirty and "young lads" are under around here. The wood looks great! It's pretty pathetic when you get excited over a load of ash, oak and maple!
I'd better get with it and get downstairs for coffee and breakfast and crank up the week. Catch you later.
Had a slightly off plan weekend. Mainly quantity rather than actual foods consumed. I'm going to do Phase 1 for the first part of the week to see if I can get a clean restart.
Ruth, too bad about your rehearsal not going well. No doubt you'll wow them next time. Will the lead's laryngitis heal before opening night?
Mamacita, that recipe sounds really good. I'm borderline on eggplant though - I like it in thin slices but find chunks a bit spongey. Maybe I can rename it Spongebob Vegetables and get the kids to eat it lol!!
Bamiegirl, there are always cheques to be written for school, huh? They may as well start taking VISA, they're such an enterprise these days. I know it's all for a worthy cause but I often wonder how most families manage the demand, particularly if they have 3-4 kids in school.
Well, I've gotten everybody off to school/work and have an hour to myself before starting my own work day. I got the job doing tech writing from home, mainly revising and updating human resource policies. Doesn't sound exciting, but I've been trying to break into the field on my own terms (part time, from home) since completing my certification in tech writing over a year ago.
Heidi... It probably won't be long until they do start takin Visa! haha I was talkin about that with some ladies yesterday about how people make it with 4-5 kids. I don't know how they do it money wise. Budget I guess!
Ruth.. Glad you got some wood and someone to bring it and stack it for you! I hope that Barney's voice comes back before opening! Sorry your still not sleepin well. I hate that stinkin time change and I wish they would nix it from the planet! haha
Mama... What a busy bee you were over the weekend! Sounds like you had fun though!
As for me I am headed to the store today to buy some OP food for me! I need some fresh veggies and such I only have this week to reach my Oct. goal! I still have a few to go and the 3 lb. gain didn't help me none! So it's water water water and veggie veggie veggies! Monday is laundry day so I guess I better go fire up the ol washer! haha Have a great day all!
I had a shock this morning. for the first time I used FITDay. I don't eat enough! This could be why I have not lost wieght and occasionally eat the house. I am starving myself. I have to eat more OP foods. Back to reading the book.
I don't know about the rest of you but I could have snuggled under the covers for another couple of hours this am. I got dressed before going upstairs this am and forgot to weigh in. Maybe it was physco-sematic (sp?) because I'm afraid the scale won't reflect a loss today.
Mama - those dinners sound wonderful. What is pomodero sauce?
Bami - could you do my laundry too? I didn't get one load done this weekend. I know what you mean about the money and schools. I felt like I did nothing but write checks for the first month of school with all the fund raisers. Now we have wrapping paper and cub scouts popcorn. I'm actually going to take DS off school lunches for awhile because he is blimping up from all the poor nutrition. I had to do this last year too. I either have to get his weight down or invest in husky pants.
Ruth - I have to admit I would be more excited about the "lads" coming over to do the work - than the actual wood. But that is just me.
Heidi - Good luck with the tech writing. I loved working on my own terms. I don't anymore but it was nice while it lasted.
Cac - glad you discovered your problem. Your body needs enough of the proper foods to function. That includes losing weight. I might have to try that fit day and see how I do.
Mamacita, you should take a few more days off to recover, sounds like it was fun. You could call in sick...(mental health day?) I'm not sure about the recipe.....eggplant, never tried it but the name....eggplant??? eewww
Ruth, how many hours a week do you rehearse for the play? Sounds busy. Uh could you send your little wood boys over here....freezing and I need wood for the fire.
Heidi, tech writing sounds very interesting. Cool that you can do it your way. I sure see people doing stuff like that more. Many of the docs in our area have transcriptionists who do that at home. Perfect job. My job woundn't work from home, however sometimes it feels like an ER in the house.
Bamiegurl, thanks for the reminder about only three days left for the October challenge! Where did the month go???????????
cac, could you send the food over that you didn't eat enough of? I'd be glad to have it. I need to check out fitday.
Anchorweight, don't be afraid of the scale, he's been your friend lately. You are donig awesome.
Well, today is the last day of Phase 1 repeat for me. I'm looking forward to a bowl of oatmeal....or an apple, I can't decide. It was more difficult this time around and I was worse at cravings than I remember from before. We had a potluck in the ER yesterday and it's so fun to see what people bring. It's also frustrating to not eat it but at the same time I do get a sense of control and happiness that I didn't cave. Anyway, I don't want to do phase 1 again, if I do I don't want it to be to detoxify, that's pretty miserable (my hubby thinks so too).
Anyway, have about 15 college students coming over tonight for dinner so I need to get cracking. Have a great day!
I was up a little when I weighed in this morning. I guess that dinner out Saturday night did me in. Oh, well, hopefully tomorrow will be better.
I've been at work since 6:30 this morning. I had a four hour training session to teach starting at 7 and I wanted time to prepare. I think it went pretty well although we need to update the documentation before the next session tomorrow. I didn't get my lunch and snacks packed today due to the early hour but at least the cafeteria had pork loin and veggies that weren't too bad.
It was a busy weekend but a lot of fun. I finally got a good workout in yesterday and hope to stop by again today. So far I have no late meetings so there is a good chance I can leave early.
RNMOM you got more than 3 days. It's a 31 day month and today is only the 25th. I'm not weighing in til Sun. or maybe Mon. morning. teehee! But it is the last week! YIKES!
How is everyone doing? I'm doing alright....I haven't been exactly on phase...This weekend I caved in at the movies and had some popcorn.....and then today I had some m&m's...I know....I was bad....but I'm gonna get back on board and get on phase....It's been nice having a few days off from work....I'm looking for full-time still....the part-time is alright...not exactly my field and I would much rather have a 9-5 job with benefits...but we'll see.....I miss talking to you guys!! Last night I started watching Gone with the Wind...I love that movie
Hi ladies -- sorry I haven't been around. Found out this morning that the hotel we're supposed to stay at in Vegas (The Flamingo) has a virus going around. Grrr!! I have been working all day to re-book myself as well as the 17 other people going from my company -- not easy to do at the lastminnute!! Grrr!!
Good Morning,
Sounds like everyone has been having a busy time of it lately!
I tried to go shopping yesterday for some clothes to take to Cambodia. It is the last thing on my list to pack and buy. But unfortunately despite walking around the entire shopping center which is one of the largest in the city I live in - I was unable to buy anything that I liked. To be really honest I bought a men's tee shirt that is ok but was fairly disappointed.
But on a positive note.. feeling dejected didnt make me eat~for a change
So while I didnt get any clothes I am happy with how I handled it, because usually I would have headed straight for the sushi bar!!!
