Default The Weekend! - October 23 and 24

Good morning!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day and I'm hoping today will be the same as Sarah is coming to do some raking. I'll work with her and also want to pick the rest of my raspberries. They have been fabulous this year, probably because of all the rain.

Chicks, my scale is stuck back up! I've not been feeling well this past week and have been doing a bit of extra comfort eating. I must confess I had fish and chips for lunch yesterday and was not hungry for dinner so didn't eat. I think that meal has solidified in my stomach. Lots of water is on the plan for today. I've got to get losing again!

After lunch today I will go to visit the pups and will be giving Lucy's babies a bath and blow-dry. They surely need it as they have been walking, lying and sitting in their "real" food. We give them a bath every second day or more often to get them used to the bath and dryer. They are nearly five weeks now and are getting close to being weaned which means Lucy will be home soon. It is so strange to not have a dog around the house but has given me a bit of a break.

What's going on at your house? Sit and chat a bit.

Mornin' everyone -

Yesterday was a beautiful day here and the weekend is promising to be the same. YIPPEE. I'm going to take the dog for a walk since I haven't felt like going lately due to the strong chill in the air. He's definitely got cabin fever and a walk will do us both some good.

In preparation for going back on Ph. 1 on Monday I had some strong drink last night and today my head is not letting me live it down - LOL. I haven't had too much alcohol since starting weight loss efforts and my body can really tell.

We've got a pesky little animal over here called a marter (sp?) that has a taste for auto cables and wires. I've never seen one but supposedly it looks like a weasel but is a little larger, about the size of a cat. Earlier this summer one ate the cables in DH's car and the downstairs neighbor's car on the same night. He was able to fix it himself relatively inexpensively. Unfortunately, last week he was away on business and another one ate the cables AGAIN at his hotel. He couldn't get away cheap this time though, 200 euros later (about $250 US). Today our next door neighbor went out to her car and guess what? cable droppings all over the place. Through lots of complaining and word of mouth we finally found out that there is a spray you can put on your engine to ward them off. These stupid animals are costing us $$. The spray is $17 a can - DARN IT! What can ya' do........

I awoke to the smell of DH cooking bacon. Why does he tempt me so?

A broad abroud, what a horrid little animal! Do they not eat REAL food!? What's with this cable thing? Probably a manufacturing ploy.

Ruth, enjoy your time with those beautiful puppies. And stop with the fatty comfort food, hear me?

I'm getting ready for Dad's party this afternoon. I sure wish he was going to be there.

Have a wonderful day, girls...

Ellis, your Dad WILL be there. Just wait - you will feel his spirit.

A Broad, do you mean a marten? Catch them! They make great coats if they are the same as our Pine Marten or American Sable! Of course they weigh 1 to 4 pounds so you'd need quite a few.

Yes, in English - Marten. So thats what the little DEVIL looks like. Thanks for the photo Ruth. It is kinda cute. They must visit frequently as I see their poop piles often. These critters are nothin' but trouble, grrrrrr...............

Default Good morning!

It's early on a Saturday and normal people would be sleeping in....... you guys who have already posted are NOT normal I would be sleeping if it weren't for the ER

Went to the show last night... Ladder 49, was pretty good. My inconsiderate husband ate a huge container of popcorn.........evil...........but I resisted! Only 2 more days on phase 1. Monday morning I'm having a bowl of oatmeal....I'm so excited!!! I really need to get a life.

Ellis you have a great day. Take time to "listen and feel" you will know your dad is there.

Ruth, I thought you were bringing babies home..........sniffle... I was looking forward to their teenage years.

A broad, hiya, good luck with phase 1 on Monday. I decided I don't want to do that again, hopefully I can behave myself during the holidays and not do it again. Be sure to take a picture of your marten coat.

Well, it's forcasted for snow today here.....brrrrrr.

A quick pop in. DD has a soccer game this morning. It's cool here this morning and the high is only 72 so it should be a nice fall day! Although there is a 50% chance of rain. Which I have had enough of for one week! Well I've got to go get my hair dried and eat a bite so I can be there by 9. Check in on y'all chicks later. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!

My DD is uncharacteristically sleeping in, so I have actually had about 45 minutes to myself! This is unheard of these days.

I have skimmed over the posts from Tu-Fri as it seems I just don't get to check in once the week gets started. I have been crawling into bed as soon as I can in the evenings- last night it was 8:30! Overall I feel great, just tired. We have our first doctor's appointment on Monday, which I am really looking forward to. I will feel better after getting all "checked out."

I am going to hop into the shower before the princess wakes up and will check back in later!

I can picture a bunch of suits at a boardroom table discussing the latest flavour of cable they're about to launch on the unsuspecting public. Rubbing their hands together, dreaming of the high demand for replacement parts, maybe taste testing the cables to see if other critters could be encouraged to nibble too!

OK, that's how strange my brain is today Have great days everybody!

Morning All!

You guys are silly this morning. What a horrble little creature! He looks like a small fox. It is absolutely pouring here today! I'm glad we traveled across the state yesterday and got to see the fall colors because today's rain will knock those leaves right off the trees.

I have to take DS and two friends to Shark Tale today and out for pizza. Pizza, popcorn, chocolate - I may end up crabby later trying to resist all the temptations. I hate to eat pistachios again today but I see no other alternative for the movies. At least at the pizza place I can get a salad.

Have a great day chickies!

That marten looks mean! Some people have problems here with rats or squirrels but we have nothing like that.

The Halloween party was fun last night. Brian's friends were there so we ended up staying until the end. I spent the whole time talking to their mom so I had a lot of fun too.

We're done with the cat's checkup and laundry. This afternoon is the school carnival which should be exciting. At least yesterday's rain has cleared up so the outdoor parts should be okay.

Karen - that first doctor visit is so exciting, isn't it? I loved the first ultrasound too although you can't see much.

Hello!

Just popping in to say hi and hope that everyone has a great day! We have a man coming today to give us a price on screening in our front porch. I know we won't be able to do it for awhile, but at least we will know how much we have to start saving.

I am cleaning house this weekend and going food shopping. Phase I for me will begin again on Monday. I plan on cooking a week's worth of meals tomorrow and realize I need to edit my signature as I have not lost my 1st goal of 10 pounds by Halloween. (Maybe I will be able to, though). I am going to begin journaling this time around and see if I can't combat some of these emotional eating problems I have. I feel being home is just making it worse for me. It is like I have nothing to take my mind off of things and I just find myself dwelling on them. Bleh - I hate this feeling.

Well, here is hoping everyone has a great day and enjoy the weekend! I'll check back in later tonight.

Okay, the marten is evil but soooo cute. Look at that little face! But I'm joining Ellis' conspiracy theory, the board members said, "How about Veal Flavored Wires?"

You guys would be SOOO proud of me. Last night, The Cute Boyfriend and I went to a Texas Hold 'em game at a friend's house. I told BF that I would be the designated driver because I can't drink on Phase I. We popped over to our neighbor's house because they were having a party - they had some excellent bean soup and steak that I munched on. Just a light snack kind of thing. We stopped at the 7-11 so I could pick up some water and some cheese sticks. We got to the Texas Hold 'em game around 7:30PM. The husband is fixing shrimp tempura and fried potstickers and a bunch of deep fried food. I ignored it. But here comes the worse part. I'm sitting next to the wife on the couch and she's nursing her little girl when the husband comes around with platefuls of the deep fried stuff. He hands me one and I say, "No thanks." But the wife wants a plate of it, but she can't hold it because of the baby, so I say, "Oh, I'll hold it for her." So, for 20 minutes I just get to smell and stare at the plate in front of me! AGH! But I didn't cheat. AND it was my first time playing Texas Hold 'em and I came in 3rd. Yay me!

Hopefully, I can resist the rest of the weekend.
