Good morning, ladies. Just dropping in for a quick hello since I am swamped at work and will be taking some extra time today. Hope everyone is having a great day...OP, of course.

We had a busy weekend. On Saturday we went to a wedding, so were pretty well booked for the day. It is strange to go to the wedding of children whose parent's (the groom's parents) weddings we attended 25 years ago. When we met the bride's parents about 14 years ago, I discovered that I had grown up around the corner from her dad until his family was transferred to Ottawa. The bride's uncle was at the wedding and we had not seen each other since they had moved away when we were kids...about 40 years ago. We had gone to school together up to that time...strange destiny to meet once again through his little brother. He had also known my husband previously and was stunned to know that we had married.

Sunday was church, then getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner. It was also our anniversary, but we didn't give that much of a thought until people started to call to remind us. We really had decided to celebrate at the end of the month when we will be away on a bit of a holiday.

Yesterday, the kids were home, with girlfriends, and one of their couple friends for dinner. In the middle of preparations, DH decided that he should go look at a car that an acquaintance has for sale and ended up buying it for me. I think I'll look great in that one - an '87 Jaguar convertible in navey and white (my favourite color combination at the moment). I will have to sell the car that I have, but I am looking forward to getting this one. If the weather is nice at the end of the month, we will probably take it on our trip. However, if there is snow by then, we will be parking it.

We had a great time with the kid's friends yesterday - DH works with the fellow and his girlfriend actually works at the same college as me. Although she started 3 months ago, we have had some dealings through email, but have never met. They didn't leave until 11:30 last night and I had arranged to work out this morning at 6:00 am, so I am a tad tired today. Actually, I can barely keep my eyes open.

BUT...the greatest report that I have from the weekend is that I stayed OP, except Saturday night when I ate a regular dessert. However, that was completely on my plan of events and I did not deviate in my eating plan from the dessert. The rest of the meal was completely OP as was Thanksgiving dinner. AND, I lost another pound. I am so close to reaching goal, I just don't want to do anything that will jeopardize that plan.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Have a great day.

Default Hello all

Well, it's a cold Tuesday, but that's OK I guess it is nearly the middle of October. My recommittment to the beach feels good and I'm relieved to have made it through a day! I'm anxious to be at goal by the holidays to hopefully keep me motivated from straying during that "diet death trap" time.

Made salsa yesterday with some of my own tomatoes. I love seeing jars on the shelf. Went to my class at the university this morning and am asking myself once again..."what is someone my age going to college for?" My brain is mush. I have children these kids' age.

ADDflower, not all nurses eat their young.....just the ones that should retire.

Ellis, sounds like the remodel is going as planned.....I'm sorry. It will be wonderful when it's done!

Heidi, fun doing applesauce. It's nice to be able to do that and have a bunch on hand, but I sure make a mess when I do it.

Sweettooth, way to stay OP and lose another pound!

Well, all I know I haven't responded to everyone, but I have a house that's calling my name....(and the name calling isn't pretty) I need to get busy. Hope you all have a great day!

Hello everyone - just wanted to pop in and say Hi!

Quick question - can sf/ff pudding be used in Phase 1? Last night I was dying for something sweet, but hadn't made any Jell-O, when I remembered I had pudding mix. So, I used one of my cups of skim milk in that serving of pudding. The box said no sugar, so I was thinking it was ok?
TIA,
Cindy

SF/FF pudding should be limited to phase 2. If you look at the ingredient list you will see modified food starch as the main ingredient. You would count the milk toward your daily milk and count the calories as packaged (without milk) towards your 75 calorie sweet allowance.

Hey everyone! I hope that everyone has had a great day so far. Everyone sounds like they just have the busiest lives.

Little chick: YIKES! I don't know how you do it all. You sound like you have have a family of dancers. That's great! I LOVE to dance.

My big adventure for the day was that I finally joined Curves. I just signed up earlier but will go back for my first workout after work. They are going to weigh and measure me (YIKES ) They do that every month, so hopefully we'll see some good changes.

Mama: My mother just started taking knitting classes. She is actually making me this amazing scarf. The "yarn" that she is making it out of is so different. It's all sorts of colors and has ribbon through it. But she is also starting to tackle curves and things.

Well I hope that everyone is doing great! I've had a pretty good few days on the diet. I'm down about 7 lbs in the past two weeks. I have a tendency to cheat here and there. I really REALLY need to stop that if I want to reach my goal. I have 15 more lbs to go.

Well, talk to everyone tomorrow!

Alli

Alli - Don't worry about getting weighed or measured. That helps us focus on where we begin our journey losing weight. They don't announce it to everyone. I remember it was quite a wake up call for me. Congrats on the weight loss. I wish I had 15 more pounds to go!

Hope everyone had an OP kind of day!
