Default restaurants with low carb

I'm happy to report Ruby Tuesdays has many low carb choices. Last night I had Cajun Tilapia with steamed broccoli and mashed cauliflower. But, watch out, I e-mailed the company about the cauliflower and it has real cream and oleo in it. That's why it was so good. Lots of other choices. They have 2 low carb salad dressings. The menu is online.

Anyone else know of national restaurants offering low carb?

Hey! We are good carb, not low carb!
However, I do think that eating low carb is often the very best choice when eating out. We have to be careful of the saturated fats. Remember Atkins, the Low Carb God, approved of cream and butter!

I second Ruth!

We are good carb, not low carb! However, we can ride that wave as long as we watch it. Ruby Tuesday is a great restaurant, bar none, because they publish their nutritional info in the menu under each item! I did find that the cauliflower and the creamed spinach both have more fat than their fries, and the low carb burger wraps have around 30-50g of fat! But there are tons of great choices from soups to dessert (the Atkins cheesecake is actually not bad with fat...has a nut crust, so safe on Phase 1, and though it has 400 cals, I would split it with DH, so it was half that.). Great place!

There are tons of great places to eat when you are on SBD. We have found the following to be easiest:
  • TGI Friday's
  • Applebee's
  • Panera Bread
  • 99 Restaurant & Pub
  • Baja Fresh

Hope that helps! You can find the menus and nutritional info for most places online, if you look.

Denny's in Canada does have a small low-carb menu., not sure it the ones in the States have the same though.

Even neighborhood restaurants are doing a good carb thing now-a-days! There is always something to choose from -- like a protein that's grilled and 2 veggies
