Default Steph soon to be new to the beach!

HI all I am a 26 yo military spouse and SAHM to my lovely 2 yo daughter Gabby. We are currently stationed in England for the next 4 years. A little history on my weight. I had gotten up to 148 and a size 12 (old navy gap)pre pregnancy and I am only 5'2. During pregnancy I got up to 193. I then after pregnancy with lots of walking and watching what I ate (kind of) and of course wonderful ephedra that is no more lost weight and got down to a size 8 (old navy/gap) and was pretty happy weighing around 130 but of course would still have loved to have lost more. Well then we were in the process of moving etc..went home ot the US for a month ate lots of junk fast food we had missed etc..needless to say I am back into size 10's now and weighing closer to 140 ACK! My goal is to be in the 120's and shoot if I can manage less than that well that would be wonderful but not gonna push it just yet LOL. I am not that into exercising and do not walk as much either due to my new weather I live in (lots of rain). So I thought why not give this plan a try! I eat wayyyyy too many carbs so no way could I do atkins. This seemed like the right choice for me and not that limiting. Not to mention so many of the recipes sound so yummy! Still have yet to buy a book but thinking I may just order the good fat bad fat guide? Thanks so much for providing a wonderful community!

Welcome to the Beach, Steph! You definitely want the GFGC book but you really should get the regular book too. The information in it will really help you to understand what this is all about so you will be able to make the right choices. Also, take a look through the Frequently Asked Questions and the recipes. There are tons of good stuff on the forums.
