Yup, that works great! I would love to have a spice grinder like that, but how the heck do you clean it? I use my coffee grinder for coffee, and since you can submerge it or take out the blade, it's a heck of a thing to clean! (so I don't...)

To clean the grinder:

I usually use a brush to remove the stuff, then depending on what I have just ground. I'll run a dry paper towel around the base, then if it feels greasy-like from the flax seeds, I'l moisten the paper towel with a small amount of soapy water and run it around the cup thingy. Seems to work ok for me. Many times, the brush is all that is needed. Probably because of what I grind regularly. Flax seeds the most, oatmeal to get oat flour and nuts for coating foods .

Default Flax Seed vs. Flax Seed Meal

That sounds fantastic... but here's a question for y'all:

I bought a bag of flax-seed meal at the grocery store and it's been sitting in my fridge in advance of my trying some muffins with it or something.

Is the flax-seed meal just ground flax-seeds? I just bought it because it was listed in a recipe, but I didn't look closely at what the ingredients were! (Bad, I know.)

Yes, flax seed meal is just ground flax seed. Enjoy!

For those who are having difficulty buying flax, you may be able to buy it at a seed company...a lot cheaper than a health food store, too.

Jenn, wasn't this thread on the verge of TMI because the seeds were working too well for you? Are they no longer helping?

I would continue to eat them because of their Omega 3 fatty acids...good stuff! Plus, they taste good!

Default flax seed oil

Flax seed oil will give you the omega 3 benefits but not the wonderful fiber that the seed or meal has. And you know we all need that fiber

LOL Laurie. I thought it was the flax seed, but it wasn't.

I have 2 bags in my pantry so I will start using them again.

And @ Little Chick! That is a good idea -- to put the seeds in as well as keeping zipped!

Jenn, share the secret...what *was* it? Seriously, between SBD and the five million iron pills I have to chuck down each day, I need some help getting things moving!

LC, my mom did that to us all the time! She even served the whole family tofu twice without telling us! Good for you!

I think it was beans -- but I am still having issues and can't quite go like before the diet. I just attribute it to the fact that more healthy stuff stays in and since I don't eat crapola anymore...

But that's just me
