New and Counting

  • My sister and I are starting SB Monday. (Sorry, but those marshmallow peeps have been staring at me with their beady little eyes for two weeks now.) But we've both been "practicing" so that Monday won't be so much of a shock. Salmon this evening with steamed veggies, a seafood Caribbean dish -- all SB and delicicious -- at a restaurant for an office luncheon outing. By the time we go to the opera on 20 May, we'll be into our Cinderella gowns again Why SB? For me, it's vital. I'm in the Air Force, and we have a new fitness program. To score "excellent," I have to run 1.5 miles in 14 min 24 seconds, do 16 pushups in 1 min, 30 crunches in 1 min. Sure, I've been workng up to it since November, so I can do all that. However, that little "abdominal measurement" asking me to have a 29 inch girth around my middle (not waist, mind you, but about an inch lower!) is, shall we say, a challenge? What with a new job, teaching...yes, the excuses go on forever... I have until 17 May to lose about 4 inches. Will she make it? Stay tuned for "Plump in the Pentagon" or "With a Food Court Like This, Who Needs Svelte?"

  • Got the List
Ruth, thanks from this web-challenged one I've printed a Phase I list for my sister, my husband, and me to cart around. Off to the gym, now that I've had coffee and a hard boiled egg (versus my beloved three pieces of whole grain toast with butter and preserves)
  • Welcome to the beach! You'll do fine on the program!
