  • Reminds me of a camel joke which I can't quite recall!
Good morning everyone! Getting coffee and will be back in a bit.
  • Still can't remember the camel joke! As you get older, it gets even harder to get stuff off the aging tape!

I had such a lovely morning in the Greenhouse yesterday and Harry was fine on his own for the morning. I worked on hanging baskets with non-stop begonias and assorted fillers. If felt so good to have my hands in warm earth and handle fresh green things. I love the smell in the Greenhous - essence of Spring!

I had a bit of a carb fest yesterday - all good ones - and the scale has blipped today. However, I'm back on track with eggs and Canadian bacon for breakfast and will be really careful today.

Aside from lugging out the dump stuff this morning, I will be taking both Girls to the Vet. Hersh's eye does not look good so I will cancel her "job" - the rule is that dogs must be in top shape to work for TheraPaws. The clients will be disappointed but rules are rules. This afternoon I will be getting an estimate for replacing my kitchen windows. Should be interesting and probably a shock as they are big windows but I do want something easier to clean and with less frame. These are old wooden frame ones with storms and a real pain in the butt! Aside from that, they don't open!

So what's happening with you today? Pull up a chair, grab a cup and chat!
  • Morning All!

I can't seem to get awake this AM. Already on the 2nd cup this AM.

Worked outta town yesterday so had a bit of a challenge but today I'm getting back on track. It's TOM so feeling a bit bloated Avoiding the scales this week.

Hope everyone has a OP day! Gonna go try to catch up on what I missed in yesterdays chat! See ya!
  • Good morning
I can't believe that I'm up with Ruth and Clovey! I got up with my DH as he got ready for work. After he left, my older dog started freaking at "something". After letting her outside, she came and sat under my chair at the computer, still acting weird. Then I heard a "bump" (hopefully from outside). I can't find what caused it but my house, inside and out, is lite up like a birthday cake~LOL.

Ruth~~I'm so glad the Harry is doing better and can be left alone for a morning. Don't you just love working in the greenhouse!! I wish that I had one of my own.

Little Chick~~How are you feeling today?

Pebbles~~I've seen you over at That Home Site (I'm Garden_Graphic_Gal). So much info there, huh? Kitchen remodels~Every time you turn around there is one more thing to consider It can drive you crazy if you let it.

Clovey~~You're a delight. You have a wonderful way with words

Well, I forgot to take note from yesterday's thread, so I'm sorry to not address everybody.
Welcome to all the new chicks at the beach and congrats to all the losers.

I have a quiet day planned. Alittle bit of touch up painting, add some recipes to my Master Cook, and if weather permits, wash my car and place the new license-plate on it (don't want to get a ticket ).
  • Good morning Nascar Girl We posted at the same time.
  • Good Morning!!!!

Thank goodness the forecast was wrong and we didnt get a single flake of snow last night!!

I'll be dropping the kids off at school then on to the Y for my Ramping class and weights. Tonight is the Ladie's bible study which I'm really looking forward too. We're studying about Ruth and reading "Becoming a Woman of Excellence".

Ruth, you sound so upbeat and full of energy today! The greenhouse was definitely a good thing!

NascarGirl, I agree, avoid the scales at all costs during TOM!

2BFIT, my dog likes to bark at things that I cant see and make me nervous!

Everyone else, have a great OP day!!!!

  • Good morning!

I, too, was awake with the robins...had to get my shower in before DD woke up or I'd be drying my hair when it's time to leave for work.

2BeFit1, I had to giggle at your mention of the dog/house lights. Mine do the same thing. Usually, we figure out it's an opossum outside. How they can hear that, I'll never know. But, I think they use any excuse to cause mom to freak...cheap entertainment, you know.

Ruth, I would have loved to be next to you, working in the greenhouse yesterday. I try to go visit my cousin, who's a commercial grower, when I can. He puts me to work in the greenhouses for a day, transplanting, etc...and I leave with my trunk full of plants. Even if he didn't give me the plants, I'd still enjoy it. I know what you mean about the smell of the greenhouse.

I have an appointment with an orthopedist on Friday, for my back. Did something to tweak it, plus have one hip that is 2" higher than the other...blah, blah...hopefully, they'll put me to rights quickly. I'm just thankful that it hasn't interfered with my walking. Tonight, I'm aiming for another 2 1/2 miles.

Well, you all have a great day.

    Mamacita (Cindy)
  • Happy Hump Day
Morning my chickies. Thesun is shinning and the birds are singing. I am feeling fine.
Ruthie- I am glad that Harry made out fine yesterday and that you had fun at the green house. I like to think I am a gardner but I am not really. I just poke flowers in the ground and hope they will look pretty. I think I need to check out some web sites know any off the top of your head. Hope your doggies are alright. Have a great day.

2Bfit-I am finally feeling better today. Thanks for asking. What is the web addy for the homesite you were talking about. I would like to check it out.

Sorry girls I have to go my sister just popped on the puter and wants to chat. I will be back.

Hello to Gavinsmom, mamcita, Ellis, and the rest the gang.
  • Hi all

I had one of those scary experiences last night as well....I was sitting in the sitting room (watching of all things a re run of Buffy the Vampire Slayer......so I suppose it serves me right really...) when a *shadow* passed accross the blind. There was a light outside and the *person* (man/psychotic axemurderer/probably vampiredemon...) walked, seemingly, down my garden.

So I am sitting there wondering whether to open the door to check (oh no would be overpowered, pushed back in to house, raped/axemurdered/turned in to vampire) or sneak a look out between the slats of the blind (but what if there were *eyes* or a *face* staring back at me??). Is the back door locked?? Rush to check. Yes, it is locked. Turn buffy to mute, turn off radio, listen very carefully. Creaking noises. Definite creaking noises. But my house is a hundred and twenty odd years old, it creaks. But they were *footsteppy* creaks! Definintely. Back to sitting room, the shadow again! Hunched this time. Creeping!! I was right! an intruder! beginning to major panic.

Hear neighbour's voice 'come on may!' (name of dog).

So I reckon it was teh neighbour. I decided to believe it was the neighbour.
  • morning everyone
nice to see you all up so early, sun is shining here today but it is cold and frosty out. i haven't had much time recently to check in but i am still hanging around and trying to keep up with everyone.
hello to all the newbies and good luck on the beach.

ruth your trip to the greenhouse sounded lovely so glad you got out for a bit and enjoyed yourself. also glead harry did ok for the morning that has to be a big relief to you. good luck with the window estimate everyone seems to be doing a little remodel work these days.

glad to hear you are feeling better little chick.

hello to everyone else hope you all have a great op day!!
  • Hey chicks,

Clovey, that's too funny. Oddly similar experience last night...sitting watching Buffy (the Judge has been brought to life, Angel's bad, awww, the past...it's all re-runs now, but I just love Buffy!)...then I hear something at the window. Now I live on the 9th floor of a downtown condo, so it's odd to hear something at the window. I creep over, the blinds are down, but open so you can see out, so I don't wanna seem freaked out to any on-lookers, and I look down and there's the kitten wrapped in the blinds with her new jingle ball having a grand old time! I was like, "Cat! NOT during Buffy, Sister!!!!" But of course, glad no vamps were lurking...(like David Arquette in the Buffy movie...)

ANYWAY, Ruth, glad to hear that Harry was okay alone. It's scary, but faith, confidence, and good timing work wonders.

Everyone else, AHOY! Glad that today the sun is shining. I went to the restaurant I like for breakfast this morning. It's pretty sad, I walked in and she said, "The usual?" I guess I do eat there often!

Felt really icky yesterday, I truly think I have SAD. But I looked online and it said an hour of outside, even cloudy days, helps, so I am trying to build my resolve to get out there even when I feel crappy and want to lay on the couch. I mean, how many Buffy episodes can one girl watch?

Had a ton of rice last night, but it was the long grain kind so while not great, not terrible, and I don't think I had a single other carb yesterday, so hopefully it balances.

    Talk to you chickies soon,

    --Dynagrrl.
  • hi ladies.

i fell of the wagon for the first time on sunday (although not as impressively as clovey! i wish i had your mishap - it sounded yummy!) when i had a hoagie and then later potatoes and then later for dinner, another hoagie. (yikes) so i got back into things on monday just fine, then last night i had too much alcohol and OP food, but far too much of it.

i am feeling terrible and am so worried i'm gonna relapse into bad habits again. i'm trying to focus, but this stinks!

okay. enough whining. i'm gonna do some work.

  • Little Chick~~www.thathomesite.com has lots of info on things from crafts, home remodeling, home decorating, electrical, plumbing, hobbys, etc. ( I have been hanging out at the Kitchens forum).
This site is an off-shoot from www.gardenweb.com (in fact you can toggle back and forth between the twowith their links). At garden web you will find anything to do with gardening.

  • The weather is beautiful here today. Decided to open some windows and shampoo some carpets. Now I'm headed outside to rake, putter and maybe wash the car. Catch ya all later
  • Good Morning All! Clovey, you are so funny! Thanks for making my morning brighter!

Considering that I started off falling out of bed while trying to hit the snooze button, then tripping on DD notebook and spilling my coffee all over the sofa, not to mention being humped by DD rabbit...my day is going okay..hey I lost a .5 pound!!!

Hope you all have a great day!
