Default Monday March 8th Spring Chat

Well this is very nice. Another week begins, and I had a diet blip this weekend, which consisted of chocolate mousse, creme caramel, pancakes, parsnips, rhubarb crumble and a twix Oh dear. Once you start you cant stop. But I am back on the wagon, and determined to loose the two pounds my naughty sunday cost me. I shall be phase oneing it for a few days.

I like this new starbucksy piccy. I miss my starbucks mochas and muffins. I was doing fine on missing them until yesterdays carbathon! Just goes to show.......!!

OK, well plans for this week are work work work, get the over due assignment in, clean the house and definitely plant the bored beans (so tedious lying around in the seed packet). Also drinking lots of

Good morning.

I see that Wonderful Suzanne has fixed our little problem from yesterday. I swear that woman never sleeps!

Great diet "blip", Clovey! You know, if you hang on tightly to the reins, you won't fall off. I've been being "good" except for wine but haven't budged an inch.

Gail comes this morning and there is lots of other stuff going on so I won't be around too much today. I certainly hope you chickies can maintain the high level of intellectual conversation to which I am accustomed.

I'm off to cruise the boards and do my journal and then !

Happy Monday.

I worked in the yards, cleaned the camper.... what a mess; laundry, house work Will check the scale in a few to see; of course my hands feel swollen from all the work so may need to wait for a few days to get the real result!

Well gotta get movin just wanted to check in!

Good morning!

Just weighed myself. No change from last week. ~~sigh~~ But, I've been walking 2 miles, 3 times a week, so maybe I'm building muscle.

Last night, I made a really yummy dinner. Spinach/chive/tarragon stuffed chicken breasts with lemon sauce and vegetable brown/wild rice pilaf. If anyone wants the recipe, raise your hand and I'll be happy to post it.

Well, time to get ready for work. You chickies have a great day. I'll pop in this afternoon/evening.

Hey Cindy I fancy that chicken recipe, yes please. I adore tarregon. However it does sort of remind me of that taste when you chewed the end of your pencil at school when you were six, do you remember that? But I do absoultely love it with chicken.

I think I shall pass!!! Well, I'm up and out of here for the morning. Off to take the kiddies to school then on to the Y to lift weights w/ my husband. I prefer lifting on Friday's though. (That's when he goes to work early and I dont have him to try and kill me!!!!)
Where is the Monday weigh in thread? I weighed this morning and I'm thrilled to be able to post about a loss!!!!!!!!
Maybe it is a good thing my sister decided to get married now instead of next year. Much needed motivation!
Have a great day everyone, I'll check back in later!!!

Good Morning!

I had a great weigh-in this morning!!! I stayed nearly perfectly OP all w/e. I had lunch at D'Angelos on Sunday and ordered the Cobb Salad. The lite olive oil vinaigrette had 3 gms of sugars and I am sure the cheese was full fat...but all in all I still think I made a pretty good choice.

That lunch was in the middle of my geocaching adventures. I did 4 yesterday and according to my GPS receiver which has an "odometer" on it...I logged over 4 miles!!!!

For dinner last night I made up a new recipe. It was pretty good. Cooked spaghetti squash mixed with sauteed baby spinach (you could use frozen), onion, garlic, and chopped sun-dried tomatoes. Then mix ricotta with an egg and add the squash mixture. Put in a casserole dish and top with a bit of mozz. cheese. Bake for about 25-30 minutes. YUM!

Clovey: Love your tale about the blip. I'm still on Phase 1...so let's do it together!

Cindy: That recipe sounds yummy. Is it for Phase 2 or 3?

Red face

Hi everyone,

Well, I was having such an odd dream this morning that I thought I was never going to wake up! But, awake and at work, all in under an hour and a half. Goooooo me!

That chicken recipe sounds fantastic! Please post the recipe! I had this kinda curried lamb thing with brown rice and lentil soup. It was phenomenal! Otherwise it was a half on half off program for me this weekend. Will do better today, or else. (or else what? nothing, really, just won't be OP!)

Let's see....I put this in the weight loss thread, but I am pleased that I managed to lose a pound over the last couple of weeks, despite the eat-a-thon I have been on. I am pleased to see that you can go off the program some and not destroy all your efforts. I find when I control the meal that I eat, I can do really well, but as soon as I am eating with some one else, it's all up in the air!

Okay, I hope everyone has a great day...more later...take care everyone...

Hi, Chickies!!!

Just popping in for a short chat with my second cup of .

Need to make it short for I have to teach Bible study this morning.

Clovey.....the Chicken recipe sounds yummy! Please post.

Somebody asked yesterday or the day before if anyone had a favorite Whole Grain cracker that they liked. Well, my memory fails me as to who asked ......however, here it is......
I get them every time we go to Texas to Whole Foods: Snacker Krackers (I happen to love the Seeded Spelt but they do have others) made by Dr. Kracker, Bread of Distinction. Here's the Nutritional information:
serving size.....7 pieces
calories.....91
total fat......4
total carbs....10
fiber....2
sugar....0.4g.
protein....3.5
I'm just about out, so I guess I'm either going to have to make a quick trip to Texas (since we do not have Whole foods around the Boonies of Indiana) or go into withdrawal!
Oh, well....I'll ration out the last 10 crackers to one a day!

Have a great day all you Beachsters!
...here's to you!

I had a good weekend, but its hard to stay OP while traveling. Especially when you stay at a friend's house that has little girls. Pizza and cookies on Friday, omelet and muffin for Saturday's breakfast, Ice cream and Fried Chicken at dinner then tacos and more ice cream Sunday. And I wonder why I didn't lose this week. I'm supposed to start phase 2 today, but I think I need 3 more days of phase 1 to correct for this weekend.

The secretary at the real estate agency that I'm joining after I get my license in April is leaving for a month and they want me to fill in. I think that will give me a great opportunity for some hands on experience. 40 hours a week might be too much for me as I'm working on the software for the course and my two college classes. I have only finished 13 of my 60 required hours on the course. Maybe I could work my butt out on that this week and start there next week. Uggh. I suppose I should start now and quit thinking about it, after coffee of course. Have a great day everyone. I'll check in later when I'm not as whiney!

Good evening everyone: Clovey - I think I had sort of a half blip this weekend, as I was feeding our Norwegian family. But now back with it.

Deets: What are you dtudying in your bible study? I also teach a class on thursday p.m. right now we are doing the "Sermon On the Mount" Very challenging. We have an interesting group. 14 ladies of all denominations. and we do very well together.

Just a point of interest for you heavy coffee drinkers. A lot of coffee won't truly count for the water you are supposed to drink and caffiene after cup no. 1 is not a good thing either. After a lot of soul searching, I don't drink coffee any more unless once in a while if we go out to dinner. Green tea, and lots of water, flavored and plain. And I know I'm better without so much caffiene.

The chicken recipe sounds yummy, so I vote for posting it too.

As for crackers - I'll have to look for Dr. Krackers specialties. I have been using reduced fat Triscuit. 7 crackers have 3 g fat, total carb. 21g, sugar 0,Fiber 3 g. The only problem, as I see it, is that it has partially hydrogenated soybean oil. But I don't eat a lot, and so think the whole wheat and fiber balance out the fat. Dr. A. says we are not a low carb diet program. so I have let that be part of my guide to what to eat. any comments from you gals about my choice?

Our company has gone, and now after several loads of laundry, general picking up, etc. having chorus rehearsal this p.m. I am ready to put my feet up. Lizzie
