Default weekend chat

Welcome to the weekend every one! Although you are all in the middle of the night I suppose. It is half past eight in the morning here and I have woken up with a bit of a hangover.....hanging out with friends last night and out came the red wine. But at least it was op.... I cooked that ethiopian chicken for them (without cayenne pepper) and got generally high praise. I did give the credit back to 3fc, tempting though it was to claim it myself....

It is cold here this weekend (really, we even had snow....dont laugh). I am going to go out and buy some wood and make a fire and sit there trying to rehydrate myself and remind myself that I am not a young twenty something that can get away with those Friday night things any more. But it was fun. Two of my friends announced that they are going to get married (to each other) so that is very exciting. Second time around for both of them.

What is everyone else doing over the weekend?

Good afternoon to Clovey and good morning to the chicks on this side of the Big Pond.

I fell asleep on the couch again last night. It's just too darn comfy down there with the Girls and the woodstove. I did come to my real bed at 1:35 but am a little achy this morning. A hot shower should fix that up.

The elusive Kevin is definitely coming at 9:30 this morning to put a vent in the downstairs powder room. He seldom works on Saturdays but this is a "fer shoor" date this morning. Before he gets here I need to clear out a closet in the room as he's running the venting through there.

What's on your agenda for the weekend?

Good morning, Clovey and Ruthie. And everyone.

This weekend... my sweet little DS is having a sleepover at my parent's place. I'll be installing a networking card in their computer. (please God let it go smoothly for once)
And we'll be finishing a few thingys in the apartment. Have to get a new fridge. Clean the damned oven. Refinish the inside of the claw-footed tub. You know... dreary stuff...
Going to get coffee...

Morning chicks!!!
I've been up awhile; Casey woke me up for his 5:30 potty time! It's suppose to be nice today in the 60's. I'm planning on going to a big moving sale that is here in my subdivision and then to the mall Michelle is registered at Rich's and they are having a sale so I'm going to get her some of her crystal that is on sale and probably check out the sale racks

Ok starting tomorrow back to Phase I. I've gotta get this belly gone before the wedding. DH is planning on smoking some ribs tomorrow so I'll put some veggies with that for our supper meal.
I've gotta go to the grocery store too we are outta milk and yogart I'll have to check the updated food list to see what yogart I can have on Phase I again.

Ya'll have a great weekend!!

Mornin chickies! quick check in as i am out the door headed to TN. I hate mornings. It is Sat. and I have been up since 5:30. Somebody shoot me! I wanted to be gone by 6:30 but it's 20 after and I'm not ready. Oh yea I have not woke up the grouchy bear (ds) either. I hate to say it but he does take after me in the mornins. He is goin with me. He wants to go hang at a friends house up there. Ok let's all have a great OP day. If weigh in was Fri. instead of Mon. it would make it harder to stay op on the week-ends but knowin I have to weigh on Mon. usually keeps me in line.

good morning
hope everyone is doing great this morning. dh and i are supposed to be going to pick out some cabinets for the garage this morning, our big spring remodel project is to make the garage into a usable space. we have plans on building a large work station in one corner. we also have a weight bench, stationary bag etc for a work out area. i'll just be happy to see the floor again and have a spot to park my car. we have so much junk in there!! kraftmaid cabinets has a warehouse not far from here and they sell overstocked, discontinued, etc kitchen cabinets for $50-$60 so this is the first place were going to look.
i also have to do laundry, clean the house, go grocery shopping, buy a gift for a wedding shower tomorrow, and go to yet another fundraiser tonight. hope i get it all done.
we went out to eat last night, i did my best to stay op even though i know i had too much fat. i ordered baked haddock and fried italian greens. the waiter assured me they were fried in olive oil so i guess that was not too bad. i still feel full this morning though ugh!!
sounds like you had a good time last night clovey.....gotta cut loose sometimes.
have a safe trip to tn bamiegirl.
ellis i don't envy the tub refinishing, oven cleaning, or card installation good luck with them all.
nascargirl smoked ribs....you just gave me a great idea for dinner. dh loves to smoke things. maybe i'll get a chicken.
ruth warm dog + warm fire = cozy sleepin' need i say more?
anyone i missed good morning and have a great day....gotta go refill my coffee will check in later.

Good Morning All!

Looks like a great day here! Sun is shining, and it is going above zero! YIPPEEEEEEEE. That is celsius (Canadian, eh!) though, not fahrenheight. The ground is still covered with a covering of white-stuff, but this little taste of Spring is always good to re-charge the batteries.
DH is off to check-out new motorcycles today, so I am off to get into trouble with one of my buddies.

Bamiegirl - I too weigh in on Monday, and agree totally with your theory. Weigh in on Friday usually results in going a little overboard thinking you can correct your "sins" during the following week...... before weigh again on Friday! Monday works best for me (keeps me on the right track).

Have a great weekend!!!!

Good Weekend everybody! I have to go to a baby shower today. I am depressed about it and don't really want to go, but I have to. My friend wants to carpool but I am going to say no that way if it gets too hard for me I can leave. I have a hard time even being around pregnant women.
We think we have a game plan to finally get rid of the damn racoons! Ooooh I hate them!
I am craving carbs like crazy right now. I didn't even go through these cravings when I was originally on phase 1. My DH says its because of how much I am working out, that my body wants more carbs for energy. What do you guys think?
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hello Chickies!

Had the gas line and electric installed and picked up our new bicycles.

Hope everyone is doing great. We got a GREAT deal on Jenn Air appliances. If anyone is looking for appliances Jenn Air is completely redesigning their line and we saved about $1000 US dollars on our Fridge and Stove. (Also there is a give away from Jenn Air that they are giving Wustoff knives away if you purchase certain appliances.

Just thought I would let you ladies know because I LOVE a good deal.

Have a great weekend!

I'm wanting to maximize phase I weight loss.... Anything you can suggest... (besides massive amounts of exercise or hokey body wraps ? I'm well into 2nd week and still "only" have 1st weeks 6 # loss. I suppose a lecture on patience is what I'll get.... and maybe that's what i need... but I'd love to get past this 10 # mark.... below which I haven't been for about 3 years... (Next plateau point is in 45 lbs.... so that'll be a while.)

PW, you KNOW you need a lecture on patience so sit yourself down and give yourself one! You have done well to lose 6 pounds. Remember you have been doing several different plans and your body is still a bit resistant.

Quick post as usual this morning.

I'm back into my waking at 5 routine, gearing up for summer, I guess. The Girls have been loved up, I have the last load of laundry in the dryer, pasta sauce is made and my bath is running. We are going to make it to Church this morning. I hate gloom and doomy Lent but it will be nice to see the gang, old and new, this morning. Hersh will be glad to see the kidlets and her doggy pals too!

After Church, we will walk down for the newspaper and do some socializing with the friendly Villagers! They'll be coming out of the woodwork today! There will be the usual negative comments about the weather: "It won't last", "We'll pay for this later!", "We get big storms in March", etc., and my alltime favourite in response to "Isn't it a nice day?",.......... "So far!". Sure we'll have crappy weather yet but we have this NOW! Carpe primaveram!

Bath is ready. Back later.

Ruth,
You are wonderful! I get such a kick out of your emails/sense of humour. The expected weather quotes for today are great and, I too have heard most of them.

Well, it is off to the gym for me in a couple of minutes, so better get my act together!

Will check in later.

Good morning Chicks! It's a beautiful day here this morning!!! We have plans to work in the yard all day raking etc. so I'll get some exercise today. Yesterday was a great shopping day I found a few bargins. I printed out DSD registary and oh my I think she went through and picked the most expensive items in every catagory She may be shocked I mean who will pay $20 for a bath towel? And who would pay $300 for a piece of luggage when the airlines could care less how much it cost when you fly? They will toss and throw it in the cargo section? I'm afraid she's in for a BIG surprise. I can see she's a name brand kid. Unlike her father and me. Don't get me wrong, I like name brands, but lets face it I can get 2-3 towels just as good a quality for my $20

Ok I'm off my now! Gotta go start some breakfast for DH and DSS. Ya'll take care and have a great day!

Happy Leap Day everybody! So far I have started out the day well. I had scrambled eggbeaters with asparagus and mushrooms, chicken sausage and a 1/2 of a whole wheat bagel with a tsp of lite cream cheese. I am going to the gym today when my dh goes to softball practice. At the baby shower yesterday I resisted temptation and didn't eat any of the off plan snacky things! Lets see if I can make it the rest of the day today!

Hello chickies-

Just finished week one of the diet - weighed in having lost 4 lbs. I had lost 5 in 3 days, but I'm guessing much of that was water weight (and I <clears throat> started this week). No more headaches either.

Just finished my best workout this week. Energy's coming back and I'm not craving stuff. Well, I do dream about apples and pears and was drooling when looking at the phase II foods. Pear and laughing cow cheese sounds heavenly to me at the moment :-)

Sooooo sick of eggs. Been having cottage cheese with splenda, cinammon and nuts in the morning, or lettuce wraps with cheese added to them. Going to an oscar party tonight, and I volunteered to bring lots of goodies (of course my ulterior motive was to make sure there were plenty of SBD phase 1 foods available so I didn't fall off the wagon).

Hope everyone has a super sunday!
