i'm sorry to hear about all the illness, but maybe as we get closer to spring and this crazy weather stops, we'll all start to feel better. i am having an okay day but need to really get motivated to do some work here!
for anyone who has fallen off the wagon recently, and is restarting Phase I, here's a little quote for you that i always find comforting:
"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent in doing nothing."
-George Bernard Shaw
happy wednesday and i hope you all are doing well!
I am just happy that I have all of you - it really helps. (Especially the exercise thread).
I finally tried the Cabot low fat cheese, it's very good whomeever recommended it. Also I had the Carb Smart yogurt that I think BigWheelz recommended and it was also good.
I met two women at the gym, they're doing a trialathon to raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma. When I was 11 my 8 year old brother died of leukemia - so I'm thinking about checking into the possibilities. What a great cause, and I can't even imagine actually completing a triathalon.
I cross posted this - but I am up after exercising last night. Does that make sense to anyone? Both DH and I are up by 1.2 pounds. I was so hoping to have dropped a pound, not gained. (I didn't lift weights, I just did cardio and swimming).
Thanks for the good wishes about DS13 everyone!! I am now trying to get him to rest up AND finish a project that is due Friday!!!
Hope you are all doing well and sticking to program. I have been doing phase 1 1/2 if that makes sense!!! A piece of high fiber bread with a scraping of peanut butter for breakfast and strict phase 1 the rest of the day. Had a bit too much peanut butter this morning, but overall doing well. 2 1/2 days and counting!! Not many, I know, but it has been a few MONTHS since I could even get through ONE day, so i am feeling GREAT!!! Now I need to get exercising again!!!
Clovey-Sorry to hear that your Mother is having such a rough time. It is hard (and SCARY) dealing with aging parents. As much as I have been looking at that lately, I feel bad for my Mom. Dealing with my Dad's health issues and seeing her own mother gradually fading away. (Although I have to say, she is still doing VERY well for 99 years old!!) Thanks so much for the quote. Very inspiring and very TRUE!! Seems like the hardest person to forgive sometimes is YOURSELF!! ALSO, sometimes the hardest things that you live through can create some of those beautiful moments. Some of DH's best poetry has come from the difficult things in his life.
Ruth-Glad to hear the interview went well!!! It is GREAT that the dress rehearsal will also be for that group of women. Wish I could see the play, stay with Ellis a few days, have Dim Sum with you two and Mauvais, and be naturally slender!!!
Little Chick-WEIRD IS GOOD!!!!! YES, therapy can be great!! I'm probably overdue to go back!!!
Sflake-HI!!!
Jocaro-YES!!!!
Overfedup-I agree!! Lots to learn from the mistakes we make too. SOMETIMES though I wish i could learn a lesson the EASY way!!!
Pebbles-Sounds like a great cause! Also a good way, again, to take something painful from your life and make something good with it.
Hope you all have a wonderful day my bathing beauties!!!
Hello, ladies! May I jump in? I'm gearing up for my start: T-minus 11 days (I think). I'm using the time in between to strategize. It's going to be interesting to make dh happy, since he keeps saying, "What CAN I eat?" Funny thing, SBD was his idea.
Clovey, what area do you live in? I lived in Northwood (Middlesex) when I was a teen. Went to school up in Buckinghamshire (High Wycombe). I miss London terribly & am always eager to chat it up with someone in your neck of the woods!
Oops, time to go pick up ds from preschool. I have to wake up the baby to do so. Sigh...
Den -
I'm on day 29 and we're still doing our modified 1.5. It seems to be working really well, we just have one carb every day, and every other day we have two. Mostly a half of a piece of fruit, or the low carb yogurt, or cereal.
Aimee - welcome. My DH and I loaded up on bad stuff before we started. I called it mourning my carbs. fats weren't such a big of deal. But all the sweets made me sad.
Hi Ladies
I haven't had time yet to update myself on all the news here but hopefully I can do this Friday morning.
I want to congratulate all the recent weight losers I'll be right behind you next week. I have carbed out big time and need to get back on track.
Aimee~~I live 45 miles NE of Atlanta and I work in Buckhead. What area are you in?
Ruth~~Break a leg, girlfriend!! Hope the dress rehersal goes as planned.
Ellis~~I miss you lots i am in great need of your wonderful sense of humor. This has not been a fun time here at all. My sister is moving in with my Dad. On the good side, it will give him company, but on the other side, my mom hasn't been gone a month yet and all of her things are being moved out or rearranged. It's been a very emotional time.
