I just wanted to thank everyone on this board. I have been overweight for quite some time. Although I have complained about it, I haven't done much to change things. I did job Slimmer's World last year, but quickly gave it up.
I started reading the posts on this forum awhile ago, but rarely join in. During christmas when my pants were getting tighter, which I didn't think could happen as they were ready to bust anyway, I decided I needed to change.
I read all the posts regarding the South Beach Diet and decided it was for me. I went out and bought the book and started right away. Four weeks later I am almost a stone lighter (14 lbs). I really think this is the diet for me and I am sure it's going to work. Only 49 lbs left to lose!
I also have PCOS so this is an excellent diet for me in that respect.
I just want to thank all of you for helping me find something that works for me. I am looking forward to a skinny summer!
Hi, Mary---14# is great! I've read alot about lo-carb (or GOOD carb as I like to call them) being good for PCOS. Dr. Schwarzbein of 'The Schwarzbein Principle' talks in her book of how detrimental sugar is to PCOS sufferers. South Beach is very similar to her plan of eating.
