During the first 2 weeks I measured nothing, except made sure I only had 2 slices of turkey bacon a day. Monday will be first week of Phase 2 and maybe I should be more conscious of my portions, but like the book says, I eat until I am no longer hungry. Surprisingly, I am not eating as much as I used too...when I fix my plate, my veggie portions are much more than my meat...when I did WW, most veggies were freebies, so I don't think you can go wrong with eating them until you are full.
