Default Carbs!

Does South Beach ever say how many "bad" carbs we are suppose to eat each day or do we just limit it? I'm doing a combo of weight watchers and south beach while just trying to watch carbs.

Thanks for any help!

Do you mean the really bad carbs like candy and white flour?

Well on South Beach, you are allowed carbs - like whole wheat, etc. I guess I should just ask how many carbs we are allowed per day period. Does it matter?

I forgot to say Welcome to the Beach!

We don't count carbs on South Beach. In Phase I, aside from the carbs in veggies, we are allowed the GOOD carbs in the legume list. Once we hit Phase I more good carbs are allowed, like whole grains and some fruits. Check out the Phase Lists in Frequently Asked Questions in this Forum.

Hoody, when you go to Phase 2, don't add too many at once. There is no 'limit' but you need to add slowly or your weight loss will stall. I went a little nuts and gained a couple of pounds. I lost it back though...just cut back on the carbs.

Don't eat any 'bad carbs'. No sugar, white potatoes, corn, white pasta, white bread. If you read the Phase 1 and Phase 2 list you should be able to see what is allowed. I have talked to a few people that are combining, and they are doing very well with it.
