Sick Bay On The Beach
 

OK. I've raked the sand smooth and put out our blankies. Now we can all huddle here under the beach umbrella. There is a huge pot of chicken soup, pieces of Laughing Cow Cheese, pre-measured pistachios, aspirin, hot water bottles, Bag Balm, sherry and brandy, cats and dogs to cuddle, pillows, a woodstove, hot lemon drinks and a bunch of chick flicks for the VCR. When we are up for it, we'll get the cabana boys to give us massages.

Come on in and complain about our sickies. Just go ahead and moan and whine and crab.

I'm just going upstairs to do a little painting with DH in the apartment. I'm motivated by money, or rather, the lack of it. We've spent all of our renovating money (don't even have grocery money until next Thursday, damnit!), and we've GOT to get that apartment finished and rented!

Hey, Ruth, thank you so much for going to all this bother . I am feeling better today so I will be more than happy to serve the sick-chicks their soup. But I do not do massages~~that's for the cabana boys (and I want one, even if I'm not sick) Massage, not a cabana boy :lol:

Went to hospital for still another test as described in the Daily under "Depression and Weight Issues", moderated by our local nut, Leens.
My leg is still there and healing, I guess. Am discouraged and crabby. I spend so much time at the medical complex that I should buy that house that's for sale right by it!

I know how hospital trips piss you off. At least it's healing.

I'm not sick right now, but my baby girl has some virus that's been going around... she's been puking all over the floor, poor thing. She's discovered that she really likes cherry Jello water and cherry tylenol, though. :-D

HArmony, bring her in. If she pukes we'll just cover it with sand. I hope the poor wee tyke gets better fast!

I've just primed 1 1/2 rooms. That's enough for today. Now I need a little nap.

Back still out, can't even wash or dress myself. Other then that not much to complain about as the meds they have me on keep me quite happy :lol:

I'm not sick but it sure sounds like a nice place to be, very comforting. Being the mom I don't get treatment like that, can I join you just to relax?????

Ruth do you have any aloe? It works great on burns.

My skin hurts where the compression cuffs (if that's what they're called.) were put on, but generally, it isn't too bad. My back hurts and my leg is throbbing, but I think that I'll be okay. Some Tylonel should take care of that.

Got to clean that kitchen and bathroom today. Maybe fold some clothes. I have a very boring life.

Hope you're feeling better in here!! Send out a cabana boy for me when you're massages are finished! I need a good one too! (I'll want the massage or cabana boy or both!!) :o

Boy, do I feel crappy. I had a good workout at the Y this morning (first time since catching this darned cold), came home, ate a small bag of chips and a bag of bridge mixture, then fell into an uneasy, carbohydrate-induced sleep. :mad: My head is full of cold, my body is full of sugar, and I FEEL LIKE CRAP!!!

Hope you're all feeling fine. Doesn't sound like it, but I'm sending you good thoughts.

OK, I am on my way to this wonderful sickie beach. I have a sinus infection and inner ear infection and I don't feel good; however, this too shall pass. I would like a hotwater bottle and a blankie and lots of those cranberry martinis :lol:

Hi chickies. I am on the mend. My cold is almost gone. But I think that I want to be sick again. This place sounds like fun. I really want to snuggle up and keep warm. It is cold and rainy here again. Please can I come and play. I don't even have anything to complain about but I could make something up. LOL. Have a great week-end chicks.

I know a thought that will make you feel a little better about your ills at the moment! My friend (a man) has a terribly large hemorrhoid. It is about the size of a golf ball. He is using antibiotics and steroids, both in suppository form, and has to have bed rest and sitz baths. It isn't going down, and he didn't call me to update me tonight, which means he is probably in the emergency room getting it looked at. My wincing ovary doesn't seem to hurt as bad when I think of him! :(

So I was wise to bring along the Prep H?

My cold has developed into something horrible. I really need one of those things to pump warm salt water through my nasal passages. I wonder where that website was...

You know, I think there's some sort of virus going around.

You're not supposed to INHALE the salt water, Ruth. You pump it up one nostril, and it comes out the other. Theoretically.
Did you know you can die if you eat too much salt?
Did you know you can die if you drink too much water?
I don't know the quantities, but I believe they're quite something.
I've GOT to have something nice to eat... I am SO sick...

Ellis dear why don't you go take a nap and when you wake up you can have some of my crockpot beef stew (if thats what it turns out to be) There is enough for all of us...if you dare :lol: :grouphug:

Ellis, go to the drugstore and by some Saline Spray. Works wonders, and is nonaddictive.

As for me, my butt hurts...I had a bone marrow biopsy and have CML (chronic mylogenous leukemia diagnosed last week) and all I can complain about is that my BUTT hurts!!!!! :)
I am ready for the cabana boy and the massage...just not the poor pained butt side. I KNOW that I should have had a massage on the ship. In fact I AM going to make a appointment to get allllll the good stuff. Complete massage, facial and nails the complete works!!!!

Well, I think I really, really, really belong HERE today! The antibiotics have started to loosen everything up (more info. than you need to know probably). It is going to be an uncomfortable day, but tomorrow should be better.

I would like hot tea with lemon to start the day, followed by asprins.

This really is a great place.

Thanx for the support. Picked up the girl- child and came home to make my last carb laden meal(stuffed shells) man were they good. I start back with phase one in the am. Not looking forward to it, but I love the feeling of wearing the smaller clothes.
My butt is really starting to feel better. You never know what is connected to what till you pull-pinch or injure something. Your butt is connected to EVERYTHING!!!!!
I want to be back on the beach in Bermuda, but I will take the antique blankie lots of sunscreen and the cabana boy!!!!
