Welcome back to Ruth! If you were more considerate you would have brought spring back with you. I am glad you had a good trip.
Pearlrose, it's a bit too cold for baseball games. Hope you had a good day.
Kathy, I know it is disappointing but just keep on following the plan and see what happens.Today I am (finally) back to what I was last Friday before the weekend.
Today I was finally down to last Friday's weight again. Last weekend was DH's birthday and I guess I had too many treats. I need to change my mindset if I am going to lose any weight this month; and I can't believe how the month is moving along!
Nothing special on the agenda today; just work and such. The days can be long sometimes but overall the weeks fly by, don't they. Now if we could just have spring show up! At least the snow is gone and there are robins out and about.
Got to take out the trash and be off. Have a great day everyone!
The sun is shining and it is going to get to 80 today, whaat!!! the weather is so crazy, it will be back down again in the 50's tomorrow. I am starting from home but going into work to present to Senior Leadership this afternoon for one project I am working on. Nothing on the agenda this evening, DH wanted to go to movies and I was like we don't need to do something every day of the week so no go for me, maybe tomorrow. Scale is up a bit this morning and that is due to me snacking, I need to quit snacking not a good habit to have fallen back into.
Kathy I am sure the scale will go back down, you have been doing great.
Beth I need to also step it up so I can lose weight this month.
I am up in Santa Rosa now. My brother was moved to a rehabilitation unit at the local hospital here yesterday. I am sitting outside a Starbucks in the car deciding to drink the cup of coffee that I have before I go in and get something for my brother. Once I get to the rehab facility I believe it will be more difficult to find a hot caffeinated beverage.
His surgery went very well and his recovery from the surgery is pretty miraculous. Unfortunately, although the final pathology results are not in, they are 99% sure of a certain type of tumor which has a poor prognosis. Average life expectancy after surgery is 18 months. We will just take one day at a time and make the most of it.
It’s so odd here in that I’ve never been here before and they had such a devastating fire last year. There is evidence of fire all over, but it’s very sporadic and for the most part difficult to see. Of course, I haven’t ventured into any of the neighborhoods yet which were totally wiped out. But in some respects it looks pretty normal right now. There are a lot of trees that were burned on the bottom but still have green up on top.
OK, well I did just get going. I go back to San Francisco tonight and fly back to Colorado tomorrow at 1 PM.
Debbie, glad your brother is recovering well at this point. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Kathy, thinking of you and your sister as well. Hope today is as good as can be. Is the latest storm going to hit you?
Nothing on the agenda today except the regular responsibilities. Weekends have been an eating challenge for me lately so I am going to do my best to stay OP!
Good morning sorry I just didn’t get here since the weekend.
Debbie and Kathy thinking of you.
Ruth welcome home.
Pearlrose happy anniversary
Isa it must be difficult juggling the kids with your husband still away
Beth spring is here today hope you get to enjoy it!!!
BUSY week off today for doctor appointments (routine stuff). Later taking a new rider out for a training ride. Weight has been very stable which I like. Splurged yesterday but learning how to manage them. Hopefully will have more time to catch up tomorrow. I literally need to chug the rest of my coffee and get moving before I am late.
TGIF I am wfh and hoping for a quiet day. DH has MMA tickets tonight so I will pass on going with him. I will probably chauffeur DD2 and her friends somewhere I am sure. It did reach the 80s yesterday today is 70, I think we might be over the hump now.
Debbie glad your brother is doing well at this point. We were in that area last June before the fires, such a nice area.
Kathy thinking of you and your sister today
Beth hope the nice weather is in your area today as well. I am going do my best to make good food choices this weekend.
Jekel I still haven't learned how to manage splurges well, need to work on that.
Friday the 13th and temps are dropping as our crazy weather gets ready for three days of rain freezing rain and cold temps. Sure hoping we have electricity and as they are predicting it's not as disastrous. I suffered through IceStorm '98 when we were without light, heat and water for 16 days! We have a Seniors Luncheon today and are going "out for drinks" late afternoon so Bruce has been warned to "eat hearty"!
Took the plunge and went to a local hairdresser today after spending the last ten years with "Mr Danny" at Park Avenue in Brockville. Suzette is a local gal in the next town and is loads of fun plus did a really good job .....for $15 instead of $55 for a cut and blow-dry. My new DIL, Maureen, recommended her and M.'s a real fashionista who always has great hair. The big test will be when I wash and dry it myself but, for now, I feel great!
Time to throw the final load of vacation laundry into the dryer and wait for the "severe ice storm" to arrive. We'll try tp keep it up here and away from Beth across in NY state.
Good morning on this beautiful day. Off to meet Pamela for a bike ride in a few minutes. I hit my goal for the month if the month ended today LOL. I have a few more social gatherings before month’s end so I need to be mindful.
Pearlrose I would have skipped the MMA too. Joe, his son and mine enjoy it though. I am in a different situation living alone so I can be pretty strict with myself living alone. If Joe and I ever live together it would be challenging. It helps me to know ahead of time a splurge is coming up. It’s really a juggling act.
Beth and Ruth I hope the ice storm spares you. Us downstaters are supposed to get freezing rain, but it will warm up nicely afterwards.
Time to chug one quick cup then off I go. Have a great day!!!
So far no ice despite the warnings. This may be a "non-event!" to quote the Parson. We usually go to breakfast at the Church Hall on Saturday mornings but it will probably be cancelled. (There is always overkill in the forecasts ever since the disastrous Ice Storm of January 1998 when Eastern Ontario had no electricity for almost three weeks!)
Not sure what today will bring unexpectedly - living with Bruce is always an adventure but do know I need to start working on our Income Tax plus Barb's final return, her husband's and our own. I've already done my stepson Grant's and he's waiting for his refund cheque. We will definitely NOT be getting a refund!
I'm kind of hoping today's Church breakfast IS cancelled as I'd just love a day at home despite the threat of "a potentially dangerous ICE Storm". I am unpacked, of course, and all laundry is done but ...
Not much on the agenda today other than weekend chores. I've got laundry going so after I eat breakfast I will probably get out the vacuum.
Ruth, we are slated for 3-5 of snow and ice but nothing seems to be happening yet. I'm also hoping for a non-event. We've all been talking about the 20th anniversary of The Ice Storm; I hope it really was a 100 year storm, that way I can miss the next one! Enjoy your day whatever it brings.
Jennifer, enjoy your ride! I was looking at the forecast for DS2 on the Island and I"m a little bit jealous!
Pearlrose, DH and I went out last night. I stuck to steak and a few grilled shrimp and am down .2 this morning. Go figure! But I will need to be OP this month to move downward again. Did you end up playing chauffeur or staying home last night?
Slept in til 7:30 but didn't get to bed til almost midnight so not really sleeping. Ended up going out to dinner with DD1 and we went and watched Panther. It was a good movie. DD2 went with friends to the mall and to the movies (she is definitely a teenager now). It was pouring rain when we got out of the movies so took a bit longer to get home since I wouldn't drive over 40 since it was hard to see the road. DH had fun at the MMA's. On the agenda today is cleaning, more cleaning and then DD1 and DH and I are going to a concert, I think it is lots of 70 bands, just going to be with DH and talked DD1 into it, doubt we will talk DD2 into wanting to go lol.
Jekel glad you meet your goal for the month that is awesome. Despite eating op yesterday the scale is up today, but I can tell I am retaining a lot of water I think it is the temperature fluctuations, so going to try and drink a lot of water today. Enjoy your bike ride today
Beth I hope the ice keeps missing you, awesome job staying on plan at dinner!
Ruth as well I hope the ice is staying away. Doesn't a great haircut just make you feel good. I am in the process of growing out my bangs so not going as often to the hairdresser.
