I'm up. Enjoying coffee on the porch. The moon and clouds are pretty I can't see many stars. Coffee is always great, though!

I have some chores I had before I leave for work at 5:30. My girlfriend and I are cleaning the airbnb next-door. Not every time, but we've agreed to be part of the loop so that our neighbors are never stuck without someone. I decided to take the money I make there and have my girlfriend help me out at my house. That's the only way I can justify hiring help right now. LOL.
I have started deep cleaning since the road project is finally winding down after a year. Everything is super dusty and I was smart not to try to keep it clean while they were working. I did the bedroom and office upstairs yesterday. I need to pull all the curtains down from the dining room and move everything off the flat surfaces before I leave. Heather will accomplish The cleaning while I am at work today. it will be nice for the doggies to have a little company, too.

Have a great day everyone! I'd better get moving.

Morning Debbie and chicks to come.

Debbie that's a great plan for your extra money. I don't know how you did it. The road project would have driven me crazy. I don't do well with being out of my routines. Great job!

Nothing exciting here today. Errands and a bike ride. I need to get moving but baby my bottom at the same time lol. We went out to dinner last night and stayed vegetarian. Not OP though. A few days ago I told myself Monday is the day to regroup. So now its time to make sure the rockery list doesn't include any "trigger" foods.

Here's to Monday being a funday!

Today is back on track, going to do Phase 1 for few days to reset and then go to Phase 1.5. Today is also day 1 of my work weight loss challenge so that should help me focus mentally.

Debbie that is a great idea for your extra $, hope works goes by quickly

Jekel hope your bottom starts to get better soon When did you say you leave for seeing DS?

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning from the Boonies where a lovely but coolish day is unfolding. Yesterday was actually hot enough to not need a light jacket - a real summer's day. We spent most of the day moving furniture and it all got away from us rather quickly. We were to go out to dinner (on gift cards) but ended up home with salad and pasta.

Today looks relatively normal although we must go to the Church coffeetime for an hour this morning. I also intend to purge the fridge of questionable stuff. Bruce does not believe in "best before'' dates and eats it anyhow. Yes, he is still "snacking" on cookies and sweets but is holding his weight steady. Me too, although that's not what I had in mind. One lunch on a boat invitation this week, dinner in a restaurant invitation Thursday, book club snacks on Saturday. ** Sigh ** but I'm holding my own and have not gained. We also have lots of restaurant cards to use up. :sigh:

Time to saddle up and get moving with the rest of the Beachers.

Good afternoon, chicks.

DS2 decided at the last minute to come for a quick visit since his days off this week will be the last chance before school starts up again. I loaded up at the grocery store yesterday; tonight it will be burgers on the grill. This is my last week of summer school, then I am off next week before the real deal starts up again. Can't believe how the time flew by this summer!

Jennifer, hope you get your errands done and manage to rest your tush also. I was not OP this weekend and told myself that "Monday is for re-focusing" so I am there with you.

Debbie, it's great you and your friend can help each other out with the cleaning!

Pearlrose, glad you are safely back and had a good trip.

Ruth, it's very easy for life to get in the way of OP eating. Glad you are maintaining at least; that can be hard enough.

I'm going to surf for a few minutes and then head downstairs to do my workout. Have a great day, everyone!

Pearlrose looks like you had a great vacation!!! I planned out my meals for the week and did not buy anything off plan or tempting. Good luck reading all your emails. I leave Friday the 25th and will be home either really late on the 27th or sometime on the 28th. I'm happy just getting to see him.

Beth that was a nice surprise DS coming to visit. Bet your grocery bill was $$$$ lol

Ruth it really is difficult having a hectic social life when trying to lose. You did great maintaining which as we all no is not easy at all.

I managed 25 miles. The tush was well a pain in the keester!! I am taking Alieve as Motrin seemed to be doing a number on my stomach.

Time to get some cooking done...actually only 1 dish requires cooking. It's been over a month and I've only had meat twice. Both times it was a burger (no bun) after an organized bike ride. I have practically cut out dairy. I'm only enjoying it out. Last night I enjoyed eggplant rollantini with grilled veggies instead of pasta. Of course there was a little food porn fresh made bread (I only splurge when I know it is homemade) and a piece of Carmel apple cake (yup didn't weigh myself today) lol. I am going to try and not weigh myself until Sunday (I usually weigh myself everyday).

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Another gutter busting storm last night which sure interfere's with sleep. However, we have a huge floor to ceiling glass door in our room so there was a good view of the sound and light show..... and the odds and ends of potting soil on the deck were washed away in the deluge.

Aside from a two hour perio appointment late this afternoon, this lovely day is all ours. I made a veal and veggie crockpot stew this a.m. which will simmer away for the day and means that I'll just need a salad for us and a crusty roll for Bruce plus dessert, of course. Things are finally getting back to alleged "normal" around here - finally getting the dressers from upstairs into our bedroom made a huge difference.

Sheesh! Car just pulled into the lane with visitors so I need to put on the coffee. Catch y'all later.

Checking in from lunch.....last night I made a quinoa and red bean concoction while doing prep for a brown rice salad. So I'm chopping up some tomatoes thinking to myself where did I put the cucumbers? I remember taking them out and I thought I chopped them for the salad. I sure did, only they ended up simmering in the pot with the quinoa and beans. I was able to fish most of them out with a slotted spoon. Lesson learned minimize multi tasking in the kitchen lol.....they cucumbers are quite flavorful in my salad lol

Good afternoon, chicks. We are just wrapping up a t-storm with crazy wind that drove rain in the open windows. Luckily we were home and could close things up and do the mopping!

Today was pretty much my summer normal: work, workout, pick a few veggies. The cherry tomatoes are going full steam this week. I might be making salsa soon!

Jennifer, multi- tasking has its pros and cons, doesn't it! Cooked cucs in the beans makes me laugh.

Ruth, glad your household is finding a new "normal". Hope the unexpected visitors were the enjoyable type!

Pearlrose, I can't believe DD started school today! Hope she had a good day.

Debbie, did the cleaning project get accomplished?

Have a good evening, chicks.

I know this isn't the right place to ask this but I've searched the site and can't find a thread that applies. I'm thinking about buying the SB food online (shipped from the SB site). Has anyone done this and what do you think?

Thanks!

Good Thursday morning from green and slightly waterlogged Delta. The dogyard is a lake once again and looks like a rice paddy! This has to be the wettest summer on record! Nobody is complaining about their well running dry which is the usual August gripe! They are complaing about their docks and boats floating away in the very high lake water levels.

Chally, welcome to South Beach. I don't know if any of the current members have ordered from SBD online which is actually Nutrisystem. As you can tell from our recipe section, most of us cook from scratch.

Beth, the storm and power outage caught me in the dentist chair mid-perio treatment. The technician was able to finish (good generator) but was unable to take photos or enter the date into the computer. She made up for it by giving a fluoride treatment which meant I couldn't eat dinner for two hours.

Jennifer, quinoa salad sounds great. I may make it for dinner tonight. Cooked cukes might be interesting.

Debbie, with all the talk of school, I am starting to feel a tad "Septemberish" and moving into fall mode in small ways. I was crabbing to B. yesterday that my fall mums were slow to bloom. Then he pointed out that it is barely mid-August. Get a grip, Ruthie. We've really not had summer yet.

We are leaving shortly for a luxury cruise on the St Lawrence from Brockville through the 1000 Islands, with lunch served on board by B's rich friend's steward. Should be interesting. I understand that champagne and smoked salmon will be served. I've met this guy only once at our wedding and he and his wife seemed really friendly so it should be fun. The cruise is our wedding gift and the day looks custom-made for the adventure.

Have a delightful Hump Day!

Good morning!

Ruth, have a fabulous cruise! What a lovely wedding gift!

Chally, I did Nutrisystem many years ago which is now more "Beach friendly". You can Google to understand the relationship between South Beach and Nutrisystem. I lost weight very easily but had no tools for maintaining afterwords. I stayed at my same weight for more than a few years but then gradually creeped up as life stresses took over. In my opinion, if you are looking ultimately for a healthy lifestyle change, you could start out buying the foods while you learn to transition to your ultimate healthy lifestyle. I have a good friend right now who is not doing South Beach or Nutrisystem but she's very busy and has someone cooking and prepping all of her foods right now. She can afford it and it's really working for her to get started. Maybe if you did a month you would feel you were ready to start transitioning on your own. Best wishes! We are always here!

Me, got some rest and now I am ordering around. Mostly drinking coffee, so far. I have to take my mom to a meeting with the mayor this morning. The Siri wants a piece of property we have downtown for a parking garage. Unfortunately, there are two long time businesses on the property so we are all going to listen to the proposal.

I was planning on going to Glenwood let my girlfriend decided she'd stay home and Mom can't go either. That has me leaning towards staying on this side and getting some things accomplished. We shall see how I feel after this meeting.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Good morning, wfh for me, I do have PT appt shortly and then conference calls in the afternoon. Tonight DD2 has art and guard practice. Her first day of school went well. Still op and going good.

Chally as Ruth mentioned I don't believe any of us have ordered online, we all started before it went to Nutrisystem. There is a thread with great recipes and most don't take long to make.

Ruth sounds like a wonderful time today, enjoy

Beth glad you were home to be able to shut the windows, yikes.

Jekel when I multi task I sometimes can't find where I put something while doing something else. lol

Have a great day everyone!
