Good morning, Linda and Chicks to follow. It's just starting to get bright here and looks like a decent day ahead. We seem to be getting rain but it's at night so leaf raking may need to be postponed again. Yesterday was wet and cold and I did have to be at the Mill to sell flour most of the morning. We are now completely out of flour!

Since it was an inside day, I started to knit again. There is The Red Scarf Project happening here and I am hoping to get a 6' scarf ready for it by the end of November. I've not knit anything for about ten years when I made 52 pair of mittens over the winter but I guess you never forget a skill like that. I also made a fabulous chili con carne to freeze for cozy fall day meals.

Today will bring some desk work and perhaps some sewing. I have two pair of pants to shorten and also a blouse that's just 1/2 " too long and shows beneath my suit jacket unless I tuck it in. I hate when that happens!

My cousin Lisa is coming over with some of her dog's birthday cake. Lisa is nuts! She made the cake out of liver with cream cheese icing. I'll see if I can post a picture. Angus is the dog who stayed here last winter when they went on a cruise. She also did a pinata - and I thought I was a dog nut!

Time for another coffee and then spiff up the kitchen a bit. Enjoy this last Sunday of the month. Time change next weekend.

Linda, the couple from PA have a cottage nearby so didn't drive up here just for flour although they ended up buying all I had left! They live in Gilbertsville and were amazed that I knew where it was and had actually driven through it.

Linda - the fire pit sounds lovely! I didn't know you took down your pool? We have one of those little fire pits you buy at Lowe's (or where ever), we use it constantly. But a permanent one would be awesome!! I would love to come see your new fire pit sometime .

Beth and Ruth - I buy those pork loins when they're on sale <= to $1.99/lb, and I just cut in thirds and freeze the rest. Last night's was delicious! I did make baked apples, and a neighbor had given me an acorn squash that I had as well. Mmmmmmm....

Ruth - it is rainy (and I assume cold) here as well. The colors are still beautiful. Great that you sold out of flour!

I bet it will be another slow Sunday, PT is wearing me out! I can't remember if I mentioned way back when that I have orthostatic hypotension as well, and my BP was 81/55 this am - when my diastolic is in the 50's, I'm pretty wiped out. I do need to figure out a menu for the week, but I did pick up a nice London broil last night to grill today, one of my kids' favorites!

Enjoy your Sunday! (the last Sunday of October?!?! And two months til Christmas?!?!)

Good morning,

The house is quiet after the storm lol. DD2 and her friends had a blast, finally sent the neighbors kids home at 10:30 p.m. last night (the party started at 4:30 p.m.) and only one friend ended up spending the night.

Today will be a quiet day, DH is going to football game, will just need to make a run for some groceries today and then DD2 has Awana tonight

Cottage that sounds like a great plan, we have thought about making a brick fire pit but right now have one probably like Twynn has

Beth sounds like you got a lot accomplished yesterday

Ruth it has been gray here they said it was supposed to rain but if it has it has just been drizzle a bit. I used to knit and crochet (not very well), wonder if I still know how to do

Tywnn that is a good idea of cutting up the tenderloin, I may have to pick some up today.

Kim glad you are getting some family time in and hope the family feels better soon.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Good Morning!

Just enough time for hello before I head out to work. I traveled last night with the pups. It was clear and beautiful with the first snow on the mountains. I'm looking forward to a little normalcy for a few days. lol

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning I cannot believe I slept until 9, who does that lol Granted I didn't get to bed until after 1. I decided to do my grocery shopping on my way home from work. I do need to go to Walmart at some point today or tomorrow. Today will be spent doing the normal weekly chores. I am going to make empanadas today. They take time, but are yummy. I don't fry mine which helps keep them somewhat healthy.

Ruth that doggie cake sounds dreadful lol

Linda I woukd love a fire fit too

Tammy take it easy today

Debbie here's to normalcy

Pearlrose glad all the girls had fun yesterday

Beth hope the weather clears for your walk.

Happy Sunday

Good morning busy Chicks I am on my last cup for the morning. DH is making breakfast today so I am relaxing for a few. Today is a yard work day for us. Lots to do including plant garlic and cut down dead plants. Tonight I'm trying a pumpkin chicken casserole I've been eyeing. I've got a gluten-free pumpkin swirl bar recipe lined up too. It's that time of year - apples and pumpkin all the time Last night I made a delicious butternut apple ginger soup It's a heat the house while roasting pumpkins kind of day

Cottage - We love our fire pits so much Hope you enjoy yours too.

Beth - Happy walking

Ruth - Hope no one tells Cricket about that cake! I have to admit that I am dreading the time change. I love being able to get a walk in after work. Guess it's time to get the exercise room set-up.

Tammy - Enjoy a relaxing day today.

Rose - I love quiet days Seems like there is always just too much to do.

Debbie - I've noticed that the older I get the more I appreciate "boring" days

Jennifer - Eight hours sleep is such a good thing Empanadas sound yummy.
