Default Friday July 10 Beach Babble

Good TGIF to us all. Any interesting weekend plans? Looks like perfect weather for us right through to Monday when we get a shower. I'm going to focus on enjoying it and ignoring the phone.

The schoolwork for the Fair is all judged. Today I will go over to the Hall at 9 and get the summer student worker started on stapling on the ribbons of the winners. We have special "participation" ribbons for everyone and there are over 1000 pieces of artwork so that should keep Connor busy for the morning. When that's done, we will mount them on the wall. It's certainly labour intensive so I'm glad to have his help.

Jazz and I had a close call yesterday! He and I went out behind the barn to check out the raised bed and I spotted a pretty black and white cat in the garlic bed. Luckily he was more interested in a chipmunk because it was a skunk! I've never seen a skunk out mid-day. We beat a hasty retreat with a promise of cheese in the house. Whew! Too bad about skunks since they are pretty animals.

OK - another coffee and I will make a niggles" list. I don't feel like I got anything done around here this week but maybe over the weekend ...

TGIF!

IGood morning!

Phew! You really lucked out on that one, Ruth! When I was young we had tons of skunks here and the dogs were always getting into them. Even when I came back 10 years we had several incidents but I haven't seen a skunk nor smelled one here in ages. I keep my fingers crossed every time I let the dogs out though. I'm glad you're judging is all done and it's really neat that everyone gets a ribbon. I thought you said you didn't have too many entries. 1000 is a lot.

I did manage to stay home yesterday and had a moderately productive day. I got all my bills paid and dug a trashcan full of weeds. Then decided to clean up and take it easy. I had a simple day planned for today with a meeting in Denver at noon. I was just going to leave the dogs home and zip down and back but I lost a crown last night so I need to figure out who can put it back on for me since my dentist is Glenwood. I did a little research and the faster I get it put on the better and I really don't want to travel to Glenwood just for that or gamble and wait a week. I had a massage scheduled for 845 this morning and decided I'm not canceling that. If I have to make two trips to Denver so be it.

So that's my day. I look forward to hearing from everyone! Have a great day! Happy Friday!

Debbie sorry about your crown. Hope you find a dentist near by. Good for you, you should keep your massage appointment. We all need a little more TLC for ourselves.

Ruth wow you and Jazz were lucky. I would have scurried back to the house for cheese too lol. Luckily we don't have too many skunks here, but they are adorable. I agree with Debbie, 1000 entries is a lot!!!

My brother, Tammy the one I told you about, is in the hospital with sepsis. He lives in England and we are not close at all. He posted it on Facebook. My mom asked me to call his wife since she doesn't have over seas dialing on her home or cell phone. Proves how much we talk as the number we had was disconnected lol. My mom did speak with him and later his wife. He is expected to be fine. My two half sisters called me asking about him. Their relationship with him is so much different than mine. Probably because they have only known him as who he is today which is not who he was. My brother is a stranger to me and I just can't warm up to him. It is a long story.

Otherwise just work and niggles. Doggie sitting Rylee too. TGIF for those who celebrate, my Friday is tomorrow

Good morning.

Debbie - Ugh. I've lost crowns before, once 2 days before our trip to Alaska! Both times they came off when I was flossing so I admit that I am now gun-shy so only pull floss through the teeth with crowns, not up like I used to do. Hopefully they can reuse the one that you lost.

I'm off the the gym with my mom soon. Then I work a long shift for the sidewalk sale. We are horribly understaffed today; I expect it will be rather like the nightmare I had the other night. I work both weekend days as well.

Have a great day.

Good morning, chicks! We have lovely sunshine and the promise of a beautiful weekend.

Today I will do garden chores since we were away the last 2 days and I didn't get anything done Tuesday (rain) or Monday. Also laundry. Then tomorrow is our annual summer festival in the village; I can't resist a craft fair and DH likes to look at the antique cars.

Ruth, glad your close call did not end up a smelly one!! And you are lucky to have those summer workers to help with all these events.

Debbie, I hope you can find a dentist to take care of you today.

Jennifer, may your day be smooth.

Karen,
it stinks when you are understaffed on a busy day. Fingers crossed your customers are patient!

Off to find coffee; I am going to make it iced and take it outside.

Good morning and TGIF!

Awoke to another rainy day. It is supposed to get muggy and 90s for the weekend here. I found out a coworkers SIL passed away so I may go to the mass for that tomorrow.

WFH day for me, came downstairs to my pc having been rebooted, the only thing I can think of is maybe the cat?

Ruth I would have been running, you will occasionally smell one that has been run over but I have luckily never had the pleasure

Debbie I hope they can fit you in and use your old crown.

Jekel hope work goes by quickly for you

Cyndi enjoy the chiropractor

Karen I hope you day at work goes by quickly.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

So.... really bad week at work + eating poorly over last weekend = Lisa on a bender. Going to the store tomorrow, so I will make sure to buy only safe foods, and not allowing any emotional eating! Time for a refresher again already. It was a super rough week. Very thankful the weekend is here.

Just wanted to check in. I didn't die, I just have not had time to do anything this week, and majorly fell off the wagon in the time I did have. Hope everyone else had a great week!

Lisa
