Default Back to the Beach

Good Morning! In 2011 I starting following the SBD. I lost a little over 30 lbs and kept it off for over a year and a half. However, I slowing starting eating more and more "white" stuff and the weight came back. In early 2014 I tried Ideal Protein(crazy expensive) and lost 25 lbs very quickly but the weight came back just as quick.

After a long journey of soul searching, I've realized just how good I felt eating the SBD way. It was one of the only plans that I've ever stuck with for over a year so I've decided to give it a go again and this time for LIFE! I know I can do it because I love all the foods that make up the majority of the plan. I just need to work on the "in moderation" foods and not letting them take over. I know that if I don't commit to this for life, I will continue the yo-yo cycle forever and I just too tired for that. I'll be 45 in April and my heath needs to be a priority. I can't wait to get a few more lbs off and then I'm going to start the C25K again. Last time I lost weight, I was up to running a 5K on my treadmill several times a week. I miss that feeling of accomplishment and can't wait to get it back.

Just wanted to introduce myself and I'm looking forward to coming here for support - Julie

Welcome! I hope you find success this time around. I know I could not have stayed with SB for so long (3+ years) if it was not for the awesome recipe section of this site.

Check it out, join the daily chat and feel free to ask any questions!

Thank youall for the support! In my first week back I'm down a little over 4 lbs. and I'm feeling sooooo much better. I'm sleeping better, I'm not bloated, my mood is improved and I got a pair of pants buttoned today that wouldn't button 2 weeks ago! I have a big Christmas party to attend tonight. Tons of of food and alcohol. I'm abstaining from alcohol and will eat the SBD way. I'm thinking of having a small snack before I go so I'm not super hungry.

That's great re: the 4 lbs. The nice thing about SBD is that you really can eat something at parties - cheese, crudite, hummos, cold cuts, nuts. Mmmmmm....
