Thanks for getting us started, Pearlrose, and thank you for your service! Enjoy your Veteran's breakfast at work today!
My denial has ended; yesterday morning it was 52 degrees and now it's 12 degrees with snow on the ground. Ouch. The good news is that it's two weeks later than usual and so I'm thinking positive about making it through this winter. I'll admit I'm already looking forward to Spring. Ouch again.
Today is work then nothing planned after. I kick into full gear tomorrow with company paperwork so I'll get all my household chores done this morning before I head out. Nothing else, at all, to report.
Good morning chicks! Happy Veteran's Day to all that do and have served. We are blessed to be in this country, because of the efforts of our soldiers past and present.
Pearl - hope they serve you good coffee at your breakfast to handle all those meetings today!
Lexiss - you amaze me.
Today is work! Imagine that! I almost went up to wake DH, and remembered (in the knick of time) he doesn't have work today - lucky government job! I do have a meeting at work today, and otherwise we're packed. I told my colleague I only have 2 Mondays left without her! I about cried yesterday (after a mind numbing day), that I looked at the future schedule, and someone unblocked my Wednesday afternoon off. But my fabulous staff jumped on it and moved everything, thank goodness!
Hi Tammy! I'm glad your coworkers were able to manipulate the schedule! Now you can look forward to tomorrow afternoon off. Thanks for the compliment....remember I don't have kids and honestly, I don't see how you do all you do and keep track of the lil' ones!
Happy Veterans Day! Thanks to all who served our country.
Pearlrose, enjoy your breakfast and I hope all your meetings today go well.
Debbie, how much snow did you get? We normally don't get our first snow until early January, but it came early last year and our weatherpeople are already tossing around the word.
Tammy, I sure hope your schedule eases up, as it sounds like you are pretty over-worked right now. Too bad your DH can't trade places with you today.
It's supposed to be a mild day today, but it's also my long day so it'll be pitch dark by the time I head home. The guys are coming to put in the new countertops and backsplash this morning, so maybe I'll use that time to get out of the house and work in the gardens. I need to soak up all the sunshine I can get this time of year!
The big chill hit here too and it is in the upper 20s this morning. DH and I took advantage of a beautiful day yesterday to hike. Today I'm getting my hair done and starting to think about our upcoming trip. We are heading to LA on Thursday for Parent's Weekend at DS2's school. So pre-trip niggles on agenda.
Karen, glad you got your hike in yesterday! Hope you get your all your pre-trip planning finished!
Linda, we got about 2 inches yesterday. I guess there are some more little storms on the way. We usually get our first snow by Halloween so this is a little bit late. The kitchen sounds like it's coming along great! How exciting!
Morning, chicks!
On Veteran's Day, a big thank you to all who served, from me as well.
Karen, glad you got in a hike yesterday. Our day was also warm so I talked DH into a walk after work as well. Our forecast is 2 more days of warm temperatures before the deep freeze hits. Ruth, hope the roof project goes smoothly. The one good thing is roofs don't have to be replaced often! Pearlrose, good luck with your meetings. Tammy, glad you were able to change the schedule and get your afternoon off. Debbie, your day sounds busy but you always seem to get so much done! Cottage, I find the shortening daylight to really be a bummer. Karen, have a good day.
We have today off from school. Not sure what the day holds. Have a great day, chicks!
Slept until 7 this morning and wondered why I had left the light on in the bedroom. Then I checked the time!
That was an hour ago and Paul and his merry men showed at 7:30 to start the roof! I swear he said Wednesday but ... They had coffee and then got right to work. Nice guys! (Paul calls this crew his A-Team.) We are going to hit 61ºF today and then cool down to snow on Thursday so he is hoping to have the roof done by end of day tomorrow.
I'm off to Brockville before 12:30 today to get my remote starter installed. It takes about four hours so I'll make a shopping list and hit the stores, probably in a cab or a rental car. All I'll need now for winter driving is a heated steering wheel - must suggest a cover to my kids for a gift.
Going to watch our Remembrance Day ceremony at the War Memorial in Ottawa. Security will be very tight, particularly since Princess Anne will be laying a wreath on behalf of her mother the Queen.
Have a good day, dollinks, and remember the men and women who fought to give us our two great nations.
good morning (barely) from grandma land. I am spending three days with the new family and loving every minute. Not much time for personals because I'm also doing some work when we aren't doing baby things. I'll catch-up this weekend
Lurking the past two days. Works gets in the way of my chick time.
Pearlrose thank you for your service.
I think my promotion is making me blind lol. I seem to be glued to a computer everyday. Tomorrow I am going to pull rank and go on patrol. I don't even care if it i cold.
FINALLY had a much needed whoosh. Hope it continues Trying to be good is not easy this week. Yoga is helping.
