Figured I'd do that so there's no simul-posting....

Yesterday was a rough day...walked into work with them telling me bad news (dealt with easily), and then I believe my own cat has intestinal cancer. I'll admit, she's my psychotic bi-polar cat (I had to sedate her to get blood from her), and I always joked she'd pass last because she's so mean. We'll see what the bloodwork says today...

I completely planned on having a salad last night, but didn't. The shrimp wasn't bad, but the orzo and pita was ... and I won't even speak of dessert . Anyway, that's my first major cheat in a few weeks, so I'll just climb back on the wagon today. Anyone give me a lift up?

Today is working. Hopefully not as crazy as the previous days! I'm kinda giggling - we forced our kids to each take some kind of after school activity. Then I found kayak lessons even DH could take. So now we have afterschool activities every day but Monday...and today there's two different things. Should keep them out of trouble, right??

Hi Tammy! I got distracted reading the NYTimes online :-). I'm so sorry about your cat - we have been dealing with my cat, who likely has IBS but it makes her constipated, not the other way around. Then she stops eating. Vet recommends removing all fish food but supplementing with fish oil for inflammation - but she doesn't like the fish oil. Could I use borage oil instead - I take that, and could snip open a capsule?

Anyway, sad day around here in NYC of course because of 9/11. I can see the memorial lights from my window and it's so sad. Other than that, today will be a relatively normal/quiet day - work, pick up son, come home. I'm looking forward to the weekend...

Matilda, it almost seems wrong to say "good morning" on Sept. 11, doesn't it. I guess that day will remain with me the same way Pearl Harbor did for my parents. Funny to think most of my HS students have no memory of it; makes me feel old.

Anyway, today looks to be another normal day of work and chores. Gross weather but we should have sun for Friday.

Tammy, I have to let you know I finally tried crack slaw last night and DH loved it! Always good to put a new meal into the repertoire. And yes, maybe we can give each other a lift back onto the wagon (I won't say much about the dark chocolate I found last night...)

I've got to run! Anyone need coffee?

Yes, this day will always be remembered. I remember it well and just hope there are no TV specials as I want to erase some of the pictures from my mind. Here in Canada, we thought we'd be next.

Sure glad I lugged the trash can to the road last night since it's been pouring rain all night! I'm not sure if the WI ladies will cancel today but we still have to be ready. (It doesn't look good for Saturday's car tour either.) I have chicken and salmon all cooked ready to be made into sammies but ... too bad because fillings with mayo do not freeze well. There is a funeral tomorrow so I may be able to send the fillings there.

Millie is sitting on the top of the couch waiting for her arch-enemy the white cat to appear. I think it'll be a non-event, knowing how cats feel about rain. Jazz has just gone upstairs to sleep on my bed. I guess he trusts Millie to keep us safe from white cat staring. Cats are so different from dogs.

Sorry about your cat, Tammy. It must make it harder when you know so much. Mathilda, I'm waiting to hear about the borage oil and hope it can help your furry.

So - I'll chop some HB eggs for sammies and then start lugging fixin's over to the Town Hall. The bread is already there and Katherine and I will make up things there. Somehow I think it will not be a rowdy lunch with the ladies if they show. (They did prepay though so I imagine they WILL come - WI ladies are very frugal.)

On we go - one day closer to TGIF.

Checking in to say hello. Only 2 more sleeps till our trip. Am I getting stressed, that is a funny question. Lots of last minute house cleaning(wish my house was as clean when I'm here),laundry et cetera. Tomorrow all the clothes get laid out. Happy to report that I lost 6 lbs so can indulge in some french food and wine but with all the walking I plan to do hope it will even off. So be good and I will pop up when jetlag is gone
take care
