So glad the weekend and yesterday were gorgeous since we are now cranking up for three or four days of rain. I'm sure glad Paul got the roof fixed. This isn't going to help the lake behind the barn but it's a tad early to plant anyhow.
Spent most of yesterday at the Town Hall office dealing with the first day problems and the students. They seem like a pretty nice bunch although a tad intimidated by all the info. I have one last minute hire showing up this morning but really, really want to hand her over to the other "docents" and get some stuff done at home.
I am taking off for a short break on Thursday - meeting some friends - and am not going to leave anybody a phone number. Jazz is going to our friend Christine's house. She is a vet tech, just adores him and is dogless at the moment. She plans to take him to work on Friday.
Have a good Tuesday. It's definitely spring now. In fact we are going to 80º on Thursday. Time to get out the summer clothes.
Isn't this weather crazy, Ruth? It was 63 and quite humid on my walk this AM. We didn't really get a t-storm yesterday, but I don't think we'll miss it today. The honeysuckle are just barely starting to bloom!!
Today is just a long day. I have 14 days left! WOOT WOOT!! With the warm weather we're having taco salads for dinner (mmmmm), and I really am making that confetti salad (again) for lunches. I thought of adding the leftover grilled chicken into it, but why ruin a good thing? Or, maybe I will...
The day is dawning bright and sunny but they warn that showers are on the way, with rain the next several days. But it's good for the garden so I won't complain. Speaking of garden, I was going to go gather some fresh lettuce for a lunch salad, but I just can't get up the energy to walk out there. Maybe more coffee will help.
I'm on the run. We got home at 9pm last night after our 240 mile drive to shut of the sprinkler/water systems. We did jump in at the hot springs before driving back which felt good and I got to chat with a few friends...someone I know is always there. I just finished filling out a grandjury questionnaire requesting excusal since I now live 220 miles (one way) from the district court. Now it's smoothie, off to work and down to Denver afterwards since mom needs an RX from Costco.
I love SBD....it's the only way I keep going the way I do.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!
Wow, picking lettuce from the garden....my only green here is from envy!
Good morning. Back from DC. Completed the entire ride which totaled 260 miles. Then drove the same amount if not more home last night. You would think with all that riding I would have dropped a pound or two, but nooooo I gained almost 5 lol. Granted I ate big, lots of carbs and simple sugars and liquid carbs too Right back to my normal eating today. Well at least for breakfast, not much here in the house.
Happy belated Mother's Day. The selfish DS really disappointed me. Not a call, text, email or even Facebook post. When I questioned him his response was you were riding your bike and I don't like leaving messages. He can truly be selfish.
I have to return the rental today. Enterprise waived the mileage charges yippee. I do need to stop by Toyota today to get my struts checked. Grocery shopping. Weeding, I really want to do that. Just get settled in. Thursday I go back to work for 5 long dreaded days.
We have rain and are back in the 60's for a few days I am okay with the temperatures
Ruth glad you will be able to get a break in this week.
Tywnn time is flying by before you know it you will be on the new job
Cottage I am having a hard time waking up lately as well
Debbie glad you were able to complete the trek to turn off the water and avoid frozen pipes
Jekel congratulations on completing your bike ride- did you get a lot of rain? Sorry about DS sometimes they just don't think. My DD1 stated she said all of those FB posts were just crazy there were not that many greatest moms as what was posted (say what!) wait til she becomes a mom lol
I am wfh today I am taking my test in a few hours, studied last night instead of going to Awana. Wish me luck
No rain here...yet! And I forgot breakfast so veggies and hummus it is with a cheese stick Someone at work remarked that I bring in so much food I look like I am moving in. But, why bring it everyday when I can bring it all once and eat all week? I mean, why not treat the work fridge like the one at home? If I am snacky and such, it's all right there.
Still haven't gotten on the exercise wagon and not sure I will this week - nervous about starting these infusions. Is it wrong to be hopeful that the side effect I hope to get is loss of appetite/weight loss? I mean, it would be a silver lining!!!
Good morning, everyone. Jekel, congratulations! I can't imagine biking that long. (I think my record was 15 miles, and it took me a week to recover )
Another VERY HOT and humid day, with t-storms later, and rain to follow the next few days. I've finished grading the term papers, and now need to make up a few finals!
Afternoon everyone. Jennifer, good to see you are back safely and congrats on the ride! Pearlrose, hope your test went well. Xan, isn't it a great feeling to get through that stack of papers?! Debbie, 220 miles is a heck of a drive for jury duty. Hopefully the powers that be will think it's a good reason to be excused.
We were slated for rain but it is quite sunny right now. I am planning to go out and do a bit of spading in the garden, maybe even dig up the dead glads I didn't save last fall...But I guess that means I have to get off the couch, now doesn't it?
