A friend was doing it with me and we would have weekly weigh ins, share our daily menus, etc. I got discouraged when I didn't have that accountability and just spiraled down and now I've gained back 24 of those stinkin' pounds!! I don't know why it took me so long...but I've now realized...I can do the exact same thing HERE that I was doing with her! Why did you choose South Beach? I started on Ideal Protein Oct 2010 and lost 50 pounds by March 2011. I basically hit a wall and was so sick of shaking my powder meals from a foil packet. I had to stop. I researched and played with diets for several months (gluten free-which is good for me because when I add gluten back to my diet, I feel achey, stiff joints, etc; low-inflammatory foods, modified low carb, etc). I came to the conclusion that low carb is the way to go for me. I also discovered that I enjoy running/jogging (which was a total shock for me, but it truly clears my head and challenges me). So, I wanted a low carb lifestyle that would encourage activity and would be sustainable for the long-run. South Beach was the best out there!
What are your ultimate lifestyle change goals? Short term? I would like to eat and cook healthy for life. I want to be in great health for pregnancy and after for a long life.

PROBLEM IN WEIGHT LOSS: I think I eat largely to make up for the fact that I miss my family in Indiana. But it's been 9 years since I've moved from there and I can't keep making it an excuse to be unhealthy. Growing up we ate a lot of comfort foods and very little healthy vegetables and fruits. I've had to grow to like them as an adult which is hard!
