Default dessert help

Does anyone know if the sugar free tastykake chocolate chip cookie bars are allowed on south beach? They have 0g sugar but 21g carbs so I'm not sure if they are allowed. I'm thinking phase 2? My husband and I just started and we are on day 5. I'm going to try some of the desserts on the site. Thanks for any help

Listen, they don't sound like a "whole food" to me. There are some great recipes for more healthy desserts here on this site. Even on phase 1 you can have the ricotta creme. In terms of when they might be permissible, I'm not sure. What are the ingredients?

They're a definite no-no. Look at the ingredients label. I'm sure they are full of chemicals and additives. You'll find lots of delicious and satisfying on-plan dessert recipes in our recipe section.

Ingredients: Bleached enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiaminemononitrate-B1, riboflavin-B2, filic acid), soybean oil, eggs, sugar free chocolate chips (maltitol, chocolate liquor processed with alkali, cocoa butter, sorbitan tristearate, soy lecithin, vanilla), maltitol, polydextrose, food starch modified, glycerine, water, natural and artificial flavors, salt, baking soda, propylene glycol monostearate, mono and diglycerides, caramel color, sucralose, stearoyl lactylic acid, skim milk, peanuts.
The first ingredient is bleached, enriched flour. It's pretty hard to find cookies and snack cakes made with whole grain flours.

Have you tried the SF peanut butter cookies? (My version is in the last post - they're good enough that I take them with me to school and church events and most people like them.)
