Default Much Ado Monday

Good morning!

Much ado around here this morning as I am operating in fifth gear. The dogs have to go to the kennel around 7:30, the building inspector will be here and the guys will start to backfill the foundation. My two cousins, Ian and Peter, will be here for coffee and pie which I've not yet baked!

Guess I'd better get moving and check back later.

Good morning, Cat. I see you out there. Happy first day of school.

Yes, happy first day back, Cat! I hope your day isn't too chaotic.

Have time for a cup of coffee this morning, Ruth? You hit the floor running this AM!

We're about to enter a 2-day steam bath. I shouldn't complain, since it's the first really hot weather all summer. My plan is to spend the day in the pool, unless Cindy has other plans for us.

Good morning We need an iced coffee emoticon this week

Ruth - Wow, sounds like a high gear morning! How long will the pups be at the kennel this week? Hope the day moves along with no hitches and a few quiet moments.

Cottage - the heat is here too, just for a couple of days. That's what I get for joking that we had perfect fall camping weather last weekend. The pool sounds perfect.

Cat - best wishes for a good first day back!

I'm in the office this morning and then on the road this afternoon. It's my last week before vacation ( 2 weeks off!) so I'm sure there is a long list of things to get done.

Time to get it started.

Good Morning!

Ruth, You may be the busiest retired person I know!

Cottage, Enjoy your day in the steam bath!

Cyndi, Hooray for vacation! Are you going anywhere fun?

Back to the routine today. I'm actually glad. We were exhausted when we got home yesterday. Today is Auston's last day of daycare. He and Jeff are going to hang out and do fun stuff tomorrow and Wednesday. Thursday school starts. My baby is growing up! I've already told them at the office to have the kleenex ready!

Hope your day is beachy, and your week is short!

Ola chicks, I'm in the steam bath too this morning. The kids will be whining all day I'm sure. Definitely the pool as soon as I knock off work. And dinner will be cooked completely on the grill - no heat in my kitchen.
Don't know why I did this to myself, but we've got one doctor's appt, two dental appts, and DD's middle school orientation going on this week, along with being extra busy at work after being away last week. Three telecons today alone, arghh.

Cyndi, two weeks of vacation, awesome!
Hope they make lots of progress today Ruth.
Enjoy the pool cottage.
Have a great day at work, Chelby. Say hello to your Jazzercisers tonight!

Good morning,
Boy did we have a good thunder storm last night. Power went off but thankfully after dinner. Got a very nice cookbook ' French Taste by Laura Calder,(she's on FoodTV.ca and I have met her in person) there is a whole chapter on preparing vegetables and I can see so many of them adaptable to SB. We are leaving on Saturday for Calgary and I have such a long list of things to do. My son will be painting our bedroom while we are gone and I have to still weed the garden and clean the house.
Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday.
Have a friendly SB day
take care
Sophie

Morning, everyone!

Cat, have a great first day back.

Ruth, I wish I'd had your energy this morning when I woke up!

Cottage, the pool sounds wonderful. I think I've got DH convinced that we "need" one after I finish school and start working.

Cyndi, I hope you get everything wrapped up with no stress so you can enjoy your vacation!

Chelby, that first day of K can be rough on mommies. Take a minute for yourself if you need to.

Schmoodle, you have a busy week ahead of you!

Sophie, garden weeding needs to be done here, too but it's been SO HOT that it hasn't been done.

Today I have several errands to run, then I'm taking DS to his grandparents' house for the week. Tomorrow veeeery early DH and I are off to the airport for our 15th anniversary trip to Niagara Falls. This will be our first time in Canada! Have a great day, everyone!!

-Jasmine

I got Brian back last night at 7PM and it's like everything is back to normal. I do have to work on getting him back to a normal bedtime (Dad was letting him stay up until midnight) but I got him in bed by 10:30 so it was a start. He also needs to finish his summer reading. He has two weeks of vacation left and I want him to enjoy the pool and his Wii as much as possible.

Afternoon, everyone!!
Thanks for the well wishes! Just had a couple of faculty meetings and a welcome back breakfast at school today. (glad I packed my own breakfast!)
then spent the rest of the day working in my room. I need my kids' folders to complete what I have to do...put names on stuff etc. Tomorrow will be working in class all day and Wednesday will be a couple of meetings and more working in class. Kids come on Thursday.

Question..those of you with children. Do any of you use EFT (tapping) with your kids? If so, how does it work for you. I'm trying it out this year with my class and wanted to know how well it works.

Jasmine,
Be sure to visit Niagara on the Lake. Its about 1/2hr away from the Falls and is well worth it. The main street is filled with shops and if you walk on the side streets, you will very lovely homes and gardens. The Shaw Theatre Festival has many good plays but they are pricey. I was there on Wednesday and the flowers are to die for right now. I am sure that there is a shuttle that goes there from Niagara Falls. Enjoy and if you go to the casino, good luck
take care
Sophie
p.s. the butterfly conservatory is worth a visit too.

Jasmine, the road between Niagara Falls and Niagara-On-The-Lake is breathtakingly gorgeous, too. You must check out the wonderful vineyards and don't forget the Niagara Gorge! And a real fun place to eat is The Flying Saucer cafe.

Hello everyone! Boy has it been a busy day!!! I wanted to post earlier but so much was on my plate. I had to take my Mom to ER. Her stomach has been bothering her for a few days and she had problems with her pancreas a few years ago. They're going to keep her for a few days and send her home good as new. prayers

Our plane was delayed by a few hours due to weather, etc. I didn't get home until late last night. I watched a little TV, took a shower and was out like a light by the time my head hit the pillow. Nothing like being in your own bed.

I planned to start Day 1 of my 30-day Shred this morning at 6:00am. Yeah right! I threw on my workout clothes a few hours later so I could get right to it after I dropped my daughter off at school. Welll, that didn't happen due to taking my Mom to ER, which meant wearing my workout gear all day. I almost gave in the urge to put it off until tomorrow but I wanted to be true to my word to start today. Me oh my did Jillian Michaels kick my arse!!! In the end, I was happy I did it because it felt like I took my first step in getting fit.

It feels good to be back. Now all I need to do is plan my menu for the rest of the week and make my stops at Costco and my local Farmers Market. Shopping at the Reading Terminal motivated me to make sure I pay a weekly visit to my local place. I so want to find a carbon copy of the Reading. Philly people, you guys have a gem on your hands.
