Happy Sunday!

Mornin' Ruth. Anticipation is a wonderful emotion! I enjoy the moment when I take a realistic look at my list. It is easier to relax and enjoy my present moment when I realize what matters and what doesn't. Enjoy your morning and the excitement of such a special visit.

Me, up early, anticipating my day, as well. VBS is in my past (for this year, at least) and I am so looking forward to my old routine....so, why put off until tomorrow what one can do today. I'm headed out at 7 to After an hour of bliss at my favorite pool, I will to church....I may even home. I'm eager to catch up on all those rides I missed last week. A nice easy lunch then off to dog team evaluating for my pet therapy group. I think I'll just enjoy the garden this evening and work on chores tomorrow.

A special hi to Barb and Lisa, who I missed yesterday....and to all, best wishes for Sunday wherever you are and whatever you do.

Good morning ladies!!

Ruth - don't have too much fun with cottage. My gut feeling is ... the wine stains...she won't care, but she might add to them !!

Debbie - our kids had VBS this week. I wasn't even a teacher, and it was exhausting!! 8:30 is just too late for my 4 and 6 year old to be leaving, they were quite crabby by the end of the week. THe problem is, now they do their presentation at church today...as we move!!! :O *sigh* Guess we're going, but it's going to add a wee bit of stress!!

me - yesterday went great. I can NOT BELIEVE the new neighbors...they watch our kids for...7 hours? Pool, trampoline, gave them lunch, ... the list goes on. They're also about the most laid back people which is awesome...so many people in this area are uptight!!

I love the new house. The views are beautiful, our upgrades look nice. We've got such a long way to go!! I'll try and post pics sometime. Of course, they can't hook up internet til the tenth..what am I to do!?!

Have a great sunday!

Good morning

Ruth - You two better remember to stop by here and say hello once in awhile
Perhaps you could get someone else to send us pictures

Twynn - wow, sounds like great neighbors. I can't wait to see the pictures.

Debbie - Enjoy your "normal" day

Barb - I hope you have some special grown-up stuff planned for your time. Alone time is such a luxury when kids are young, especially for single moms. I know you will miss him but take advantage of the quiet.

Lisa - Thanks for the ear worm. I've been playing music on and off since reading your post to get rid of that song. I don't even like MJ music (I know, sacrilege). I hope Tom practices his massage skills at home.

Cat - Glad to hear your son is alright. How scary!

Nothing too special going on today. DP is off to a blogger picnic and I'm staying home to do chores. I went to the picnic last year and well, they are geeks I'll take my chances at home. Looks like a perfect day - no rain believe it or not!

Hope there is some sunshine in your day.

I really only liked a handful of his top songs, and don't think I own 1 album of his (my mom had the "Bad" tape, I remember, in the 80's) but that damned "Billie Jean" song is one they STILL play at the clubs and women go nutso dancing. I don't get it. Still stuck in my head though. "Billie Jean is not my lover...."

As for Tom practicing, I could use a little lumbar work, but Tom somehow injured his finger (I'm guessing speed-bag at the gym) and so he can't do anything until it heals. My back didn't start hurting until he injured his finger.

A relief from the heat in the midwest, finally! Not that I really mind the heat too much, but I'm sick of people complaining about the heat index and humidity. Going to be mid-80s here today and that is my kind of weather!

So what's everyone think about Billy Mays being found dead at age 50 this morning? So many celebs dying young. Well, Ed McMahon had a nice long life, and Farrah tried so hard to claim victory over cancer, but I'm guessing that Billy Mays didn't eat properly, and Michael Jackson had an addiction to pain medication. Just speculation.

Makes me glad to have a support group like this that helps me stay healthy (most of the time.) Hitting the store soon and going to get healthy things for Tom and me again. I need a major detox. (Shh.... the tickie is LYING!!!! But, I'm afraid of the scale so I'm ignoring it.)

Hope everyone's having a blessed Sunday!

Lisa

Edit: If you'd like a different ear worm, come on over. Tom's rediscovered coffee, and just burst out with "Baby Come Back" from the bedroom. Gotta love it. I think he saw a Swiffer commercial or something.

That does it, back to the 80s workout play list.

"...and you think love is to pray but I'm sorry I don't pray that way" The all time best ear worm

Now I'm off to Walk Like an Egyptian before the rain gets here.

Oh noooooooo. Not "Tainted Love"!!!!!!!

Ok, that's it. Time to pull out the big guns. "You spin me right round, baby, right round, like a record, baby, right round, round, round."

If I must go mad from ear worms, I'm taking everyone with me!

The kids today sing, "You spin me right round baby right round when you GO DOWN, WHEN YOU GO DOWN DOWN."

And, yes, THAT is what they are talking about! Sheesh!

I guess we had our bad songs: There's things that you guess, and things that you know...

Brian got off to camp this morning just fine and I got to visit the Sprouts near his Scout meeting place. That place as the best veggies. I've got marinated beef kabobs and fresh veggies for dinner planned. I took it easy and had a grilled fish sandwich for lunch and then spent an hour at the gym riding the recumbant bike and reading a good book. I'm going to see how much I can make it to the gym while Brian is gone.

Chelby, SERIOUSLY? The kids these days sing about that? Is this how our parents felt when listening to our music? Like, wanting to clutch their chests and shake their fists angrily? First time I hear Little Guy singing about anything like that and there's going to be an issue.

Ugh and I was trying to avoid the Wham! ear worms. Quick.... um.... oh no, that one would be worse.... ah!

"Just a small town girl livin in a LONELY world. She took the midnight train goin anyyyyywherrrreee....." That's better. Journey makes everything better.

It's a good thing we didn't listen to music like that. Just good wholesome fun stuff, like Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Oh wait, never mind. bad example. Of course I was in my 20s by then so it didn't count anyway

It was even worse for my grandparents. Their kids had Elvis!

Hello from Ruth's absolutely adorable village of Delta! I had a thoroughly lovely drive up here this morning and arrived on Ruthie's doorsteps around 2 this afternoon. We just got back from a delightful tour around her village and I met several of the locals, and enjoyed a glass of wine with friends of hers who have a cottage on the lake. I can tell already that I'm going to love it here.
Right now Ruth is slaving away in the kitchen, fussing over dinner, while I languish over the computer. She said I'm allowed to languish today, but tomorrow she's putting me to work.

I'm in love with Jazz and Disney already, and Jazz is just the right size to smuggle into my suitcase. Think she'd miss him?

Weezle, Auston sings, "Shush girl, Shut your lips! Do the Helen Keller, and talk with your hips!" It's actually pretty funny.

Cottage, Get good rest. I hear Ruth has plans for you...

Little Guy sings "Come on and take a free ride" which I personally think is AWESOME. It's on his Cars Wii game, so he's learned some good tunes. Of course, he turns 6 in August, so I guess soon he'll be singing "Back That @$$ Up" or another such musical inspiration.
